Eri groaned mentally. 'Another fruit??? Well I do like Popas...mmmmm...I kind of miss those. Oh yeah, another fruit.' Eri thought for a moment. She tried hard to remember the names of the foods that she had learn, then finally something popped up. An image of a round, red thing that began with an A. "A....apool." She mumbled under her breath, trying hard to remember how its name went.

"Apool...? Oh, you mean apple, right?" Kumizu waved down the waittress, who came over with a smile. "Ready to order, hun?"
"Yes we are. We'll have two Cokes and a slice of apple pie. Is that okay with you, Eri?"

Eri blushed from embarrassment and looked down."Uhhhh....Yes, apple! Silly me."She twirled the ends of her hair around her fingers. Then she heard Kumizu ask her about the order. "Yeah sure, that's fine." she said quickly.

"It'll be right out." The waittress folded up her notepad and walked away. With her gone, Kumizu turned to Eri. "Eri, please tell me. What happened in the furniture store? Did I scare you away or something?" It had bothered him since the moment it had happened, but he had been waiting for a time when they were truly alone to ask. He wasn't sure how comfortable she would be talking about it.

Eri kept her head down. She wasn't sure if she should tell him.'What if he laughs at me? Or feels offended?! Then again, I'm only making it worse by not telling him......What to do,what to do?!' Eri kept silent while her thoughts ran wild with different reasons as why she should and shouldn't say anything.

Kumizu frowned. He wanted to know, but he didn't want to push her. At the same time, he didn't want to go and change their conversation to a different topic entirely because... he wanted to know. He wasn't sure what to do, so he too kept silent.

Eri felt terrible inside for not being honest with Kumizu. She was an honest person at heart but ever since she had moved here, her entire life was one big lie.She had to tell him, atleast that much.Eri lifted her head up and looked into Kumizu's eyes. She took a deep breath and spoke. " I can only guess that the past few events have been stressful on your mind. I'm sure you'd like an explanation more than anything right now. However, I find it kind of hard to tell you.Look, its not that I think you're a bad person. If anything, I think you're wonderful, but the thing is your a guy. I'm a girl. I have no clue how guys and girls are suppose to interact. It wasn't you that scared me away but my lack of understanding the situation that did."

Ah. She feels awkward since she's never been around a guy before. "Well, whether I'm a guy or girl, there's no real difference on how we're 'supposed' to interact. You just do the things that make you happy. I mean, if I were a girl, there wouldn't be any difference." Kumizu realized too late that that was a really bad analogy. If he suddenly was a girl... his life would be a lot more complicated...

She blinked and stayed silent.'He's right....So was Eden....Eden made more sense though' Eri giggled." Alright then. I'll try not to feel so intimidated when I'm around you. Now when is that lady going to bring us our order?"

((I was planning on putting her in this post anyways.))
As if on cue, the waittress came back with a brown tray in her hand. On it were two tall glasses of Coke, still bubbling, and a slice of apple pie, with two forks. She set them down and put the tray under her arm. "Y'all enjoy." She smiled at both of them, but nodded to Kumizu, then walked away. He took a sip of his Coke, watching to see what Eri would try first.

She noticed the waitress's odd behavior but didn't worry too much about it. Eri was too interested in the foreign foods infront of her. Slowly she picked up her fork and poked the pie as if expecting it to move or something. Then she lifted her glass and sniffed the coke. Bubbles went up her nose and she sneezed.Eri set the glass back down and thought over which one to try first.

"Bless you." Kumizu couldn't help but smile. He could tell by her reactions she had no idea what either of these items were. He shook his head and took another sip of his Coke. Picking up his fork, Kumizu poked into the pie and picked up a piece. He ate it. "Mmm. The pie's still warm. Try a piece."
((Notice that nice bit of alliteration there?))

Eri looked at Kumizu, her expression clearly showing she was puzzled.'Bless you? What does that mean?Oh well....I'll figure that out later. He said try some of this pie stuff so I shall.' She took her fork and picked up a piece also.Eri looked at it, took a deep breath and put it into her mouth. She chewed it for a few seconds. Suddenly she stopped and had a look of disgust on her face. She spit the piece of pie into a napkin and began speaking in her own tongue. The words seemed somewhat run together and if anyone were to try and repeat what she was saying they would fail miserably.

Kumizu was... shocked by her reaction. He didn't even try to understand what she was saying. Who doesn't like apple pie? Still he pushed aside the plate and grabbed her hand. "Are you okay? Do you want to get something else?" He was genuinely worred, though still confused.

She quickly shut up when she realized that she was speaking in her own language.Eri blushed when Kumizu took her hand. 'I bet he's really confused now.' she thought. " I'm okay but I just can't believe anyone would eat that stuff! It reminded me of the icky morder slugs back home! So gross!" Eri covered her mouth again. She realized once again too late that she had mentioned something about her old life. 'Good going Eri! You're practically spilling your life out to someone you hardly even know!'
