Another suggestion about organizing the classes is can you maybe put a sticky on the classes to keep them near each other, so I can access them easier to keep track of what homework I have done and not done. It is really quite hard at the moment.

By doing this maybe the common rooms should be an announcement or they can be left as a sticky. And the announcements that are there now could be left as announcements.

Thank you.
No.

I'm gonna have to side with angil...

Sorry, but for now, yes.

However, if you have 30 posts and have been in the guild for three weeks (I'm sure you will by then), you can post your sorting answers in the Sorting Hat thread, and you will be sorted on April 2nd.

Um...well you see...

Part of why you need to be a house elf is so we can be sure that you're a potentially active member before we go through the trouble of sorting you.

But what about all those other users who aren't house elves. If I can't be a student, well, you have teachers ...but i cant teach anything.

well...who do i have to be a House Elf? Don't I have ANY other options. what about that guy from a different school, he's not a house elf.

And I think I read somewhere that you can have ghosts? I don't want to be a house elf. I want to be something else.

being a house elf simply means you're new...
Our exchange student has been a loyal member for a while now,
He discussed his request with Pinkie and I before he joined the guild...

As for ghosts, that's just an idea for now.
And ghosts are going to be our most active members,
to be trusted with putting together our guild's events.
So you wouldn't be able to just walk in and be a ghost.
You have to earn your position just like everyone else does.
I belive in the FAQ in the Entrance Hall Thread Pinkie said:
"If you expect to walk into Hogwarts on your first day and expect some glorious title, then I don't think you should be here."
I'm not saying you shouldn't be here...
I'm just saying that it's somewhat rude to expect special treatment when there are many other members who are elves just like you.
It feels especially rude to me,
because I'm the one who goes through the lists and keeps the member lists organized so the members can enjoy our unique little spot in Gaia.
So, if we were to accomidate your request, it would involve alot more work for me,
because once we do it for you, we'll have to do it for anyone who asks...

And finally...
ask yourself this:
Which would you rather the mods discuss;
making multiple titles for new members,
or finding ways for new members to be more involved?
It's your choice...

-:NOTE TO MODS:-

Thought I should tell the other Guild Mods that I added a note to the ways to earn house points..Its to the one where you get 10 points for recruiting members. I added that you get the 10 points regardless of whether the person gets into the guild. This is beacuse most people who bother to say who invited them or who's siggy they went through are the ones that write decent applications anyways. And, I at least do this; if I like an application I'll PM them and tell them to re-read the front page and re-apply via PM. So, from now on, it would be nice to keep track of who was brought in by who. (I'm thinking of letting Elves that get 5 people to apply be officially sorted early if they meet the other requirements...so it'd be nice to keep the other names for now...you can either PM the names to me or post them in this thread...)

Which reminds me,
Right now, I want to focus on 2 things, besides the Valintine event that Angil is putting together...
1. I want to get the Hour glasses up and running asap. Heads biggrin o we want to make all the house posts the same? How do you think teachers and mods should post to add points? (I'll give my sigestion in a seperate post) And are there any other things we should figure out for the Hour Glasses???...
2. Elves!!! How are we going to meet the needs of the elves? I think we all know what I'm talking about. Early sorting. What should we do? My only request is that we keep the requirement that they must have been in the guild for at least 3 weeks and they must have made at least 30 posts.

What I think about the first issue that we need to discuss:
  • I think we should all have the same format for the House Points.
  • I think we should sorta follow the same format for adding points like how I run the Duelling Club:
    • someone says how many points go to which house
    • a mod edits the house point posts and adds the points
    • then they go and edit the original post of ther person who wanted to have points added and edit the end of their post with "Points Added"
    • Then, if a mod would like to add points, they can just put the "Added" at the end, so they don't have to go back and re-edit it...
  • The reason I want to do that is because that way we can make sure that every single point was added. If we do the who "points as of now have been added" then there's the chance that you missed a post, or that someone will add points without realizing that someone else aready has. There's just alot of complications that can occur...
