They'll be replacing the unstable Windows 98 with a stable Windows 98 along with a full system sweep, meaning clearing the whole hard drive where it is basically like brand new, even though the computer is a few years old, but alot better than nothing and it had 4-5 times the hard drive memory than our current computer, plus, can't really complain, it's a free computer given to us since our friend already bought a brand new one and would of junked this one anyways. But yeah, it'll be like a new computer with all of the files and software completely wiped off of it. When we set it up as a home network, then we can install the neccessary programs of course on the newer computer. 3nodding Anyways, so I've been pretty excited setting up my/our first home network, enabling both Wasted_years and myself to be on the internet on two seperate computers at the same time, which is quite handy and takes out the need to fight for computer time if both of us wants on the internet. Now, we can do our own thing at the same time, even maybe getting back to posting together around Gaia, etc. But the network won't be accomplished for at least a few more days probably, after they set up the other computer and make it network ready, we'll have to get a router (which we may get a free one, but the guy isn't sure it works or not) and if the router does work, then all we'd have to do is get a ethernet cable. Anyways, I'm off to play a bit of Halo 2 while we're borrowing the X Box system from a friend for tonight and tomorrow, might as well take advantage of it as much as possible, especially since I love Halo 2. 3nodding

All right, I told this guy I'd pass on the word to my guild about the RP he has created, calling for a 1000 gold entry fee to join along with 30,000 gold for prizes in the RP Events. I'm guessing BOS wouldn't be interested in setting up a team to join, only if amongst yourselves you came up with a team for the event since being in a team of 2 or more is required and it having 4 stages to the RP, each stage offering gold prizes. But teams does not have to consist of fellow guild members, if you want to join by yourself to have fun, it's others who joined the RP who don't have a team yet. I thought I'd give you all a chance to see this information in case any of you might be interested in a event like this. So if you feel like flexing your RPing skills and maybe have a chance at winning gold, keep in mind, I doubt you could slack, if your not there or don't think you can, save your 1000 gold, it's non-refundable if you don't show up. This user named opaj who is hosting the event has been on Gaia since July 2003 and seems to have had quite a few successful events like what he's doing now, so it might be a good chance for you good RPers to go against other RPers of your caliber. Anyways, if your interested, here is the copy of the PM he sent including the links, etc.

Hi.

I'm trying to get the word out for Broken City, a Gaia-wide RP event that I'm putting together. It's a predominantly battle-oriented event divided into three parts: an 8-hour hunt, in which teams of fighters try to find and kill 4 targets before anyone else does; a half-week long game period in which players fight for control over 4 special, valuable items; and a final battle royale for the champions of the previous two parts. As it stands, there is a 20,000 gold pot for winners, plus 10,000 gold to pay judges.

I was hoping you could spread the word to your guild- maybe even put together a guild team, if you want. You can read about the details in this thread.

I hope to see you on the battlefield!

Well i took a look at the posts rules and i think its an exelent idea i may join as well, but if you would like to team ill team with you. It would be kinda fun no matter how far we get into it could give us alittle publicity, and if we get that far we could get alot of pablicity representing our guild in a gaian event. though its alittle agesnt the bortherhood policy i dont think it would hurt to join up and make a brotherhood team it would give us a chance to encounter possable compitition make some new frinds or an alliance or two who know from what i have seen is the only loss would be 1000k but thats something even i can make easaly.

It's not against policy, it's a Gaian RP Event outside of The Brotherhood and has in no possible way a chance that The Brotherhood would go to war. It's a fun RP Event, not battling with another guild. I encourage anyone who wants to join RP Events outside of the guild, it's a way to have fun and RP, along with a chance at winning gold and if well enough, as you pointed out, some publicity. If you want to do it and think that you have a shot at getting far, go for it. 3nodding

Sorry ChibiSarafan, but I really wanted to use the newspaper and thought peasant clothes would make a good match for the dirty newspaper thing. Anyways, getting around to your PMs here in a second about the Ripper and listing the job occupations of members in the Rank and Division Listing, which used to be listed during my last reign, but was taken off at some point obviously, they no longer felt it needed with jobs being unimportant or something, bleh.

@Leon S. Kenedy: Quite all right, my outfit provokes that type of response and was prepared for it. I'll be changing my outfit shortly. As for your sister joining, no problem, she can just put in a join request and be accepted into the guild as soon as High Elder MunkiHunter gets some free time and accepts her join request if she's already sent one in.

@6pack1: It's all right, I haven't been on much the past couple of days. We received a computer that was created in the year 2000 and used two years by a friend's parents before buying a new one and just had it laying around in storage before just giving it to their son, which already had a brand new one, just a few month's old, so he gave it to us for free since we're very good friends. So trying to get that up and running so that we might have two computers, set up a little network sharing the internet connection and enabling Wasted_years and myself to be online at the same time. So with working on that and being busy in real life, it's been slashing my online time pretty horribly, but it'd be worth it to get a second computer up and running, it just might be awhile before we get a wireless router to share the internet connection and set up a network.
Thank you,Sir.Sorry that I haven't been here.My computer wouldn't let me get to the guild.Couldn't even check any of my mail.

Ah, sorry Munki. My character is already taken onto a full team. It's not my fallout character either, it's my Deity Inc. Special Operations soldier, who wouldn't be allied with anyone from this guild.

Of course, now that I think about it, an experienced wastelander would do fairly well in the contest. Humanoid robots wouldn't be anything new.

Now this is something that sounds interesting, but upon hearing about it, I might like to try and get my guild in on the action, but if not, then I would be made proud to join a Brotherhood of Steel team.

It's all right Leon S. Kenedy, now that it appears to be working and operational, hopefully we'll see you post more. 3nodding

@Everyone interested in the competition: Remember that the deadline to register and enter The Broken City RP for the first round is December 15th, 11:59pm PST. You must enter before then, if not, you may not register for the first part. The second part it sounds like it's no deadline to enter, as long as you register before part one of The Broken City RP is finished. Just thought I'd make that noted for those of you interested. If your deciding on joining, I'd make up my mind pretty quickly due to the deadline.

Well, first, I'm not that great of a RPer. Second, I lack the time required for the RP. Plus, I know I don't have a chance to win against other good RPers, not with my skills lacking greatly. 3nodding
