i wonder why sad They're epic people who have no problem with us 'knowing things' and unlike all the other people... They provide 'answers' instead of just going 'cause it's against the word of God!!' <-- That. pisses. me. off. And they're great teachers... A long line of history in providing knowledge! O.O
Politics and a protestant spin on the Catholic Counter-Reformation often confusing "secular" inquisitions with inquisitions that were actually ran by the Church. The state run inquisitions really didn't care about doctrine and were more concerned with land grabbing and killing off political enemies. They also ignore that the Catholic Church did not endorse these state-run inquisitions and actually condemned them.

"By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" ~ Matthew 7:16

^ This is what makes me question the Catholic Church. But of course I believe that. T'was said by Jesus after all 4laugh
Understandable. I'm not Catholic myself and there are stances I disagree with personally.

But I like my head where it is so I don't exactly go around shouting 'Religion is BS!' though sometimes, I wonder if it is. burning_eyes

I was there at one point in my life too. Depends on what you are using religion for. If your using it for magical thinking or trying to appease some dude in the sky then yeah that is a bunch of BS.

If you are using it to transform yourself, then there is merit to it, it just takes patience and some spiritual elbow grease.

I suppose~ But we don't technically need religion to grow spiritually. They're just aids. The true temple is within the heart.

Depends on what one means by religion. Religion is basically just a set of practices you do regularly when you get right down to it. If the practices you are doing aren't helping you or don't show any good fruit then... it's your call there.

Yeah, that's what I meant - the practices. Each religion has them... And the rules to follow. Not one of them is really right or wrong per se but right or wrong for the individual in question.

I won't fight you on that but I disagree on that. Some practices I think are pretty awful like demonizing people because they are homosexual. Or disowning family members for converting to a different religion.

Ah! But it's the individual's choice finally. Some religions are strict... Like Islam. But they work, no~? Now, no popular religion would be out there if they didn't have support from the people under them. I admit a lot of BS in the rules of the bible... For me, most notably in Leviticus, but if that's all I look at and the rest of the 'message', that makes me an idiot, no~? Sometimes, it's about the big picture - what makes a religion attractive to the ones following?

I know some people who have been converting so often, you see~? Liking the outside and when they're inside, they don't like it anymore. I find humor in that~

I don't care for the laws of Leviticus and to me they are null and void. The big picture is the important part I think too.

First Name: Alyssa (I prefer Hinata on Gaia though.)
Age: 21
Religion: Christianity
Denomination: I'm not quite sure what this means... redface

What drew you to this guild? A friend of mine, Robert (rmcdra) invited me to be apart of this guild.

Influential quote: How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tiding, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God Reigns!" - Isaiah 52:7

I'm a friendly person and easy to talk to and would love to make some friend here as well as learn more about the guild.
