Fourth chair flute. But the three flutes in front of me are two seniors and a junior who is really amazing. Then the 5 people behind me are all older than me, except for the other sophomore flute in the ensemble, but she's not very good and I'm surprised she got into the good band. >.>

Last year i was last chair, this year I am 2nd chair. we had 2 seniors graduate that were in the first 2 chairs then we had a sophmore in 3rd chair and a friend and me in 4 and the 5 chair. only 5 clarinets. this year it my friend and I in 1 and 2 chair then the jr in the 3 chair (just started this semester) and then the 4 freshman in the back.

I'm second in the second wind band in college. Most of those in the top band (as well as the first player in the second band) are music majors of some sort, and I'm a freshman. I aspire to be placed higher next semester. smile

3rd out of 6. I'm perfectly average! xd Technically I'm 2nd of 5 but the current 2nd chair still needs to take the exam, and I got a 82% so she should beat me handily.

2nd chair tuba my freshman year, undisputed 1st chair the remainder of my high school years.
And not to brag, but I think I was the best graduating tuba player out of the vast majority of high schools in my city. In the state, I may rank top ten, but I've rarely heard other tuba players so I wouldn't know.
There are just so few out there. -sigh-

i play the Flute and im 3rd chair. First chair took privet lessons and she had been playing the Flute a year longer then everyone else, and 2nd chair is just as good as me except my flute had a slight leak when we tested and the idioc teacher never let me retest for 2nd...
