"I believe y-you," Ellandra said in reply, sitting down next to him and smiling. And she did. "Um. . . what should I d-do while you dance?" She asked, tilting her her head and blinking at Faolan. She didn't want to get lost in the crowd that would surely form, but she didn't want to just stay in the vardo or anything, either. Perhaps Faolan knew what she should do, because she had no idea at all.

"You could join in," Faolan teased, then added more seriously, "There will be places you can watch and not worry about the crowd. I mean, if you want to watch, that is. I'm surely not going to force you to."

Ellandra nodded. "O-oh, of course I want to watch!" She exclaimed, a blush creeping across her face again at a few thoughts that crossed her mind. "D-don't ever expect me to join y-you though - I'd j-just faint. . . and I can't dance anyway," she admitted, her expression turning a little downcast for a moment. She didn't think she would ever be brave enough to do the kind of dancing she was expecting Faolan to do, but being able to do any kind of dancing, even just alone in her apartment, would be so wonderful. . . .

"Dancing's as normal as breathing, Elle. Everyone can dance. Tonight, when we're alone in the vardo, I'll show you," Fao said, surprising himself that he truly meant just dancing and wasn't hinting at any innuendo in the offer.

Ellandra shook her head. "N-not me - I've. . . I've tried. . . I broke half of the items in - in this old curio cabinet my father h-had. . . and managed to give myself a concussion in the process," she said sheepishly. She really was just that bad at dancing - she was a hazard to people and items around her when she really tried. She tilted her head a bit and smiled at Faolan. "I-it's kind of you to offer, but I'm afraid it's - it's the impossible challenge."

He grinned at her. "Assa, lass, don't you know by now how I love a challenge? If I thought you'd stay on your feet, I'd try showing you to dance right here and now, but I get that you'd rather practice in private." He chuckled, eyes dancing with laughter and love. His muscles twitched a little, aching now to dance. True he wasn't a fan of being a part of the performances the carnival put on, but dancing for the sheer joy of it was something he never had an issue with.

"N-not here, no . . .. s-sorry," Ellandra replied, her face erupting into a full-faced blush, her eyes widening in surprise. She really couldn't handle that - not yet, not for a while. She smiled a bit, though. Maybe someday she could dance wih him.
Maybe.
If she didn't break something.
Like her neck.

"Will you dance with me tonight? After we're back home in the vardo, I mean," Fao purred, watching her with half-lidded eyes. He wanted to pull her to him now and sweep her off her feet, but there was the sandwich and he was hungry, so he pushed the desires to the side for now.

Ellandra nodded a bit, still blushing. "I'll...... I'll try," she said, and ate a bit of her sandwich before continuing, "B-but don't say I didn't warn you when something gets broken." She meant it, too. She would try - and something would wind up broken. At the very least probably one or more of Faolan's toes. At the worst. . . well, she didn't want to think about that. So she took another few bites of her sandwich instead, watching Faolan and occasionally glancing at the various people (and animals) who passed by.

Fao was struck with brilliance and grinned at her. "Tonight, after the carnival is closed, we can go dance on the stage. No chance of breaking anything there if it's empty, right?"

Ellanra squeaked. "O-on s-stage?!?" Whether there was no-one there or not, that thought intimidated the timid woman just a little. Well, okay, maybe a lot. But if there really was no-one around, and it was with Faolan . . . maybe she would be all right. Maybe. She chewed on her lip for several moments, thinking to herself, before finally nodding. "A-all right," she said, managing a nervous smile for the fortune-teller. She would give it a try. At the very worst, she'd never have to try it again after this. And maybe Faolan could actually help her to learn to dance a little - or at least stop breaking things when she tried.

"It's a date then," he chuckled, then checked his pocket watch. "Ay, we have to hurry with lunch so I can go start getting ready for the performance. Don't suppose you want to help me get into the costume, eh?"

Ellandra raised an eyebrow as she took another bite of her sandwhich. Swallowing, she asked, "D-do you want me to faint again? Because y-you know I would." She was honestly afraid she'd wind up fainting during his dance as it was; she didn't need any more things to make her pass out!
. . . She really should keep smelling salts with her or something.

Faolan looked up, a bit puzzled. "Huh?" Then he realized what she thought he meant and chuckled, holding up a hand. "No, love. No. I'd get dressed on my own. I just need help with getting the jewelery on sometimes."

Ellandra blushed, but smiled. "Sorry. . . I s-suppose, then - if you really need the help. . . though I should warn you, Rags likes t-to play with shiny objects . . . he m-might complicate things." Really, the little cat was a darling animal, but something of a troublemaker. He'd be right at home here, she had the feeling. She wondered idly if that would be the same for her - anywhere. She wasn't really at home in her apartment any longer, but could she feel at home here?
. . . With a baboon wandering past the table she was eating lunch at? She'd seen it earlier, perhaps, but seeing it now was still a bit of a surprise. She blinked at the animal as it passed by - with a coffee mug in its hand?-, then looked at Faolan.
Caffeinated baboons.
She was beginning to understand why Faolan had liked her boring apartment so much.
