Thank you ^^

mrgreen Guess who found the Lon Chaney movie?! (in Wal-Mart, of all places)

Yeah, that's one problem with that. Sometimes I start reading before I go to bed, and I'm like "I'm only going to read for a little while," but then I can't put it down.

She totally is! She's the best version of Christine! Tough women rule.

Yeah, we tend to have a lot of similarities. All these funny little things we have in common. Me too (the hiding of stuff that people will people will be disdainful about)! For example, my dad really doesn't like ALW music, for some reason, so I hide my ALW CD's when I buy them. I don't hide them afterwards, but when I'm actually buying them I avoid letting him see them. Just so he doesn't make any comments about ALW music. Lol, nobody knows about my teratophilia yet.

That's great. I remember when I had a really good math teacher and math actually seemed fun to me. But with almost every other math teacher I did horribly.

*falls over* rofl You're the progeny of Bozo and Xena now, are you? Hehe, that's a rather interesting match. *does Xena's war-cry*

Makes sense. Can't have your shiny doodads falling off now, can we? I'd probably like sewing by hand much better if I wasn't so opposed to actually touching needles.

rofl Heh...we both have made up words caused by Winslow's adorableness/sexehness. Like "squee-heheee!"

Hehe. That's very interesting. I'm not really the hissing and growling type, I guess. I suppose that I am just not one with my inner primitive beast.

Wow, we certainly have gone off topic. Gah, you mean I have to pick just one? gonk

Okay, I think if I had to choose just one to be my favourite, it'd have to be the scene where Winslow and Phoenix meet for the first time. I have a bit of an obsession with that scene... sweatdrop a bit of an obsession? That's an understatement.... He's just sho kyoot! And when they hug, it's adowable! Squee-heheee! And I just love that scene for some reason (okay, there are many reasons, but I will start to ramble on and on about it if I don't stop soon, lol). What about you? What's your favourite scene?
PostPosted: Wed Jun 21, 2006 8:45 pm

Uhm...your mom?

Just kidding.

Niice!

Yeah, that happens to me all the time. I'm like "Just finish this chapter." Five chapters later "Just finish this chapter".

I fell asleep once trying to read like that.

Yeah, they do. Winslow so totally deserves one.

Oh my god, I'm the exact same way. I bought a bunch of Phantom stuff when my mom was in the store with me, and she never found out. She hates ALW too.

Yeah. The teacher's half the fun. If the teacher's not a moron or unduely unhelpful, it really makes math suck.

Xena's awesome. And, yeah. I have bozo's hair and Xena's looks (sort of...not really) and attitude.

Yeah. Shiny doodads mean the world to me (apart from Winslow). So I had to put them back on if I were to maintain my life force.

Oh yes. Blame Winslow for our words. Ackthingfeth! What next?

Yeah. He is really adorable in that scene. Makes me want to hug him myself really badly. I suppose I'm a little too jealous of Phoenix to like scenes involving their interaction.

Ahh. I like...the scene in which he ambushes Swan. His squeaks and chokes are so adorable and yet heartbreaking. And how there's this 6'4" guy cowering from a 5'2" guy? Priceless! Yet...I just want to go in there and pet his face and fight Swan off. Poor Winslow! crying

I also like the contract scene. (Eee! The sexicuteness!) And the rooftop scene. crying

I like doing the "poor Winslow" thing.

*pops into thread* Hello, sorry for the late reply. Wow, new emos! cheese_whine

No, it was my dog. Just kidding--I don't even have a dog. Especially one who would buy the Lon Chaney movie. sweatdrop

That happened to me while I was reading the last few chapters of the Leroux novels. And then I forgot to eat because of this.

Yeah I did that with a Harry Potter book once, because I couldn't bear to stop reading it, even though I was so tired. Finally I just gave up and fell asleep.

He absolutely does deserve one.

lol Wow, that is just so much of a coincidence, lol. I've made quite a few secret purchases before. Not really for any good reason. I just do that for some reason. I usually don't hide it when I buy Phantom-y stuff, but when I bought that one ALW soundtrack, I already had three PotO soundtracks, so I figured my dad would be like "ALW, again?" (even though he already knows I love PotO so much that I payed over 50 dollars for the PotO original cast recording). So I hid it. But the soundtrack had the Lon Chaney DVD as a bonus, so I just had to get it!

The teacher is very important. I've never had a math teacher who was a moron or one that was unduely unhelpful (although I have had at least one teacher for a different subject that was unduely unhelpful), but I guess I only do well in math with certain types of teachers *shrug*

Gah. I have, like, no energy right now for some reason. And I'm dizzy *is typing veery slowly*

Xena rules! I have every episode on tape (except for the one where I accidentally taped over the ending). Totally one of my favourite shows. You do have her looks, in a way,and you definately have her attitude. She's definately one of the most kick-a** chicks.

*gets distracted by Thorn's shiny doodads* Shiiiny!

Yup, he is the cause of several made up words. What's next? Lol, I guess we'll find out the next time one of us makes up a word that was brought on by fangirl hyperness.

Hehe, I would have that problem, except that in that scene I pretend that I'm Phoenix *shiftyeyes*. He's just sho adowable!

I knoooow! You see? I can't choose just one! So many Winslowish scenes to luff. I reeally want to hug him in that scene. Yes, totally priceless! I mean, Winslow could just crush Swan or something, and he's backing away from him and cowering. I know what you mean. I always get that same feeling. Poor, squeaky Winslow! crying I feel so bad for him!

Yes, yes. I love both of those scenes. You know what? Let's just say that I love any scene involving Winslow. (by the way sexicuteness is an awesome word. Hehe *steals the word*).

Yeah, there are soo many "poor Winslow" moments in the movie crying
PostPosted: Sat Jun 24, 2006 8:23 pm

That emoticon reminds me so much of a certain aquarium club meeting in which some members demanded wine and cheese 'cause they had set it out for another (adult) activity there.

So...yeah. Yo.

Haha! I forget to eat all the time. Or, like, I'll be hungry, wander around the house and then not really want to make anything, so I'll forget it. I swear, if my mom wasn't around, I'd starve or something. Plus I can't cook to save my life, which adds to it.

Ohgod. Just imagine what I'm gonna be like in college. gonk

I have to force myself to stop reading some stuff. Like, I have to remind me of the time I dropped a book on my face because I fell asleep attempting to finish it past 4 AM.

I'm really not gonna survive once I turn eighteen, am I?

Oh my god, dude. I finished reading The Hot Zone. Finally. It was so good. And kind of creepy. But I loved it. And reading it, I thought of a possible Ebola vaccine. But, of course, nobody's going to try it because they're so scared of Ebola. But I could totally see it working. See, there's a strain of the virus known as Ebola Reston that is basically a very close offshoot of the deadliest Ebola virus. Like, they're practically the same thing. Ebola Reston, however doesn't kill people. It is very flulike in symptoms and the fact that it may be airborne. But nobody who got it ever puked blood or was in any way liquefied from the inside out. So maybe...just maybe that if you gave people the Reston virus they'd be rendered immune to the other strains. Especially the one with a 90% mortality rate. But people don't do that kind of stuff with Ebola of any kind. So it's not gonna happen.

Yeah, I'm a freak.

*Gringrin* Imagine! Winslow and Beatrix Kiddo (the chick from Kill Bill). Oh...my...god. *HEARTAGE* *Slaver*

50 bucks for the original cast soundtrack? I got mine for 30. ...And hid it.

I hate being dizzy. I felt really pukey a couple days ago. It wasn't fun. I even had a target for my puke if it did come. Unfortunately he lived in a completely different state, so it wouldn't have worked anyway. Ah well.

Lucky! scream I want Xena stuff. Alas I am poor and cannot buy the DVDs. *Shiftyshifty*

Hehehe. Thanks. You make me so happy.

*Pets shiny doodads* Mrrrrrrrr!

Yay for fangirl hyperness. Ya gotta love it.

I'd pretend I was Phoenix...'cept I'm too busy pretending I'm Lex. *Seriously needs to start an RP and cast self as Phoenix*

*Nodnodnod* Yeah. I mean, I see those scenes and I nearly spaz. Squeaky Winslow! crying

Glad you like the word. Now give it back. *Grabs the end with teeth and pulls*

Strangely enough, I love the "poor Winslow" moments. Okay, I hate what's happening to him, but it makes me want to pop in there and squeeze him that much more.

Ieva!

*Is confused, but at the same time highly amused* 'Tis funny.

"Yo" right back at ya!

Wow, so I'm not the only one who that happens to. I just get distracted sometimes or become totally absorbed in something and forget to eat. I have a feeling my cooking skills also leave something to be desired...although I haven't done much cooking, so I don't really know. For all I know, I might be pretty good.

Yeah, I know what it's like when you have to force yourself to stop reading. Although I haven't dropped a book on my face because of this. But yeah, I've done the staying-up-past-4-to-attempt-to-finish-a-book thing.

Sure you will. You'll be fine.

I have a feeling I would become incredibly paranoid if I were to read that book.

Ooh, I likes. Hehe, at least I know her name now.

Yeah, it's an obscene price isn't it? But I really don't mind as long as I have it *huggles OCR* Michael Crawford heart heart heart
Anyway, I didn't hide that one. Everyone knew that I bought it. I was sooo incredibly hyper. And I kept calling it "the precioussss." And I proudly display it in my Phantom shrine. But certain things, I am very sneaky about buying, for some reason.

Hehe, I don't think anyone can puke that far. But being dizzy is not fun. I felt all nauseous that day.

The DVD's are freakin' expensive! I want 'em too. I just taped the episodes off the TV. All of them. Hehe. But I luffs my Xenatapes. Haven't watched them in ages though, so maybe I'll pull some out later.

No problem. It's true, though 3nodding

Oh yes, much love for the fangirl hyperness.

I tend to insert myself into certain parts *blushes*

I knooooow! I just want to hug him! And comfort him! And pet him! crying

Sexicuteness! *starts too pull the word back, but gets tired and gives up* Fine. *grumbles* You can have your precious word back.

Yep *nodnodnod* I agree. I hate what's happening to him, but I just want to cling to him and sqeeze him.

Ieva, indeed *tries to figure out what that word means*
PostPosted: Tue Jun 27, 2006 8:58 pm

Woo woo! *Dances*

Ya see my new picture? http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/35453542/

It's a painting. Kind of quick but it was fun. That's the reason I was acting like a madwoman last night. Hehehe.

I don't cook because when I tried my family apparently hated my stuff and kicked me out of the kitchen.

Staying up past 4 is fun. I did it last night, in fact. Whee.

Yeah. You learn her name in the second movie. Dude! From what I remember, Kill Bill 2 has an incredibly PotP-esque roll of credits. It's awesome. Ya wonder where they got the idea. *Shiftyshifty*

"The preciousss?" Nice! I take it you're an LotR fan then?

I wish I could, though. *Puuke*

Yeah, they are. And I can't remember anything much about the show. Kinda sucks.

*Gringrin*

I just fantasize about Winslow and me/Lex in daydreams. It's terribly fun.

Yes! *Squeal*

My preciousss word! *Pets*

Exactly! *Clingycling* MAH WINSY-LOW! ISS!

Ieva's just an exclamation. I like it.

Thorn, there's a book to Phantom of the Paradise?

I should read it... ^^
PostPosted: Wed Jun 28, 2006 1:06 pm

Ooooh! Luuurve the picture!! I have a thing for white hair. And the dragon looks awesome (I love the yellow eyes). Niiiice!

Ah, so that explains it *nodnod*

Aw, that was mean of them. But, yeah, I guess it says something about your cooking (lol, joking).

Yeah, I just have a habit of staying up late (not usually past four, but past two or three). But I actually went to bed comparitively early last night *is proud of self*

Oooh, now I want to watch it even moore! I love the credits of PotP heart

*giggles* The funny thing is that I'm not really much of a LotR person. I don't remember that much about the movies, and I've never read the books. Actually, it's one of my friends who started doing the whole "preciouss" thing one time when she bought something. It's just fun to say. And kind of fitting. But, yeah, I might read LotR one day. It is kinda cool.

Yeah, have fun with that lol

Aww, that's not fun. Do they still show it on any of the stations you get? They totally stopped showing it over here. I used to watch Xena obsessively.

Oh, yes, Winslowfantasies rule! Winslow-ness!

Random exclamations are fun. Aieeeesh!

Oh, by the way, my dad totally saw my PotP DVD today. I was freaking out. It's the "secret" DVD. Because I'm too lazy to write about it again, I'll just copy and paste what I wrote in another forum, in the 'Who's Parents think their obsession is "Unhealthy"?' thread

Quote:
Okay I take it back. I believe that my dad is starting to think my obsession's healthy. Today he came into my room and saw my Phantom shrine. He said "Gee, I think you have a problem with the Phantom." He picked up some of the things, and I pulled them out of his hands, like "Nuuuu! don't touch". I know it was kind of childish of me, but I know he doesn't like PotO, so I didn't want him to say anything bad about it. And I was kind of whining, which is probably because I have PMS, but still.... I said "Don't knock my PotO obsession" and he was like "Or what?" I said I'd chase after him. I almost said I'd chase after him with a Punjab lasso, but I figured he wouldn't know what I was talking about lol

Anyway, he picked up my DVD of the 2004 movie and my DVD of Phantom of the Paradise. I kinda freaked out. So now he knows that I am abnormally obsessed *sigh*

Thorn, there's a book to Phantom of the Paradise?

I want to read it too! By the way, where'd ya get it from?
PostPosted: Thu Jun 29, 2006 8:39 pm

About the book: Yeah. It's a novelization by this guy name Bjarne Rostaing. Kind of rare. And a bit expensive. And a lot different from the movie. But you can probably get it online. Google "Phantom Paradise novelization" or "Phantom Paradise Bjarne Rostaing" and you'll probably find somebody selling it.

Thanks. White hair is fun. Hard to paint, but fun. Personally, I prefer black hair (for me, anyway) but white is pretty damn nifty, no doubt about it.

Haha! No, no, it totally does. I don't particularly care anyway. I'll just make...spaghetti for myself or something when I'm on my own.

The credits are nifty, man. I realized this fact not so long ago. Was all like, "D00D! Those movies have the same style of credits, don't they!?"

I used to be a lot more of an LotR fan than I am now. Like, on my lifetime-so-far-movie-scale, PotP ranks #1 in terms of obsessiveness, followed by Star Wars and then LotR. So it's one of the top three.

Nope. I don't get cable, so I can't see 'em there. And network doesn't show 'em anymore. But I used to be totally addicted to that show. As well as all the fantasy-type shows that were on the station at the time. *Fantasy addict*

Winslowfantasies! I spend waay too much time on 'em. heart

Dude! My mom's the same way. She'll rant and b***h about something she doesn't like and tries to make you focus on the flaws. Hence the reason for my secrecy about stuff. Luckilly she liked PotP. So she didn't try to get me un-obsessed. I don't know if it would have worked, seeing as to how deeply engrained my obsession is, but still.... gonk

And be proud that you're abnormally obsessed. Stick up for Winslow! *Brandishes water bottle*

'Ello, there! Once again, sorry for replying so late. Yay! It's Canada Day! *dances around*

I'd love to read it...maybe I will one day....

White hair is preety! heart But black hair is awesome as well. Yeah, I guess it would be pretty hard to paint white hair.

Lol! Well, I don't think my cooking would be too great either (I must try cooking again one day). At least I can make toast...and eggs. Teehee, I guess that's not saying much though.

Aweshum. Still have to find Volume 2 of that movie.

Well, LotR is pretty cool, I just never really got into it. It's really fun to call things "the preciouss" though. I have this ring with Elvish on it (not the One Ring though), and after I bought it I kept calling it "the preciouss" and talking about the hobbitses. Lol, that was fun. I've always loved Star Wars. I was never actually obsessed with it, but I've always had a place for it in my heart.

Aww, that's too bad. Well, maybe one day the prices of the DVDs will be lowered dramatically so we can afford them *becomes hopeful* Fantasy-type shows are great! heart

As do I. Don't worry, you're not alone! wink

Well, my dad isn't really like that, but I just get strangely defensive about PotO around him, since I know it's not his thing. He won't rant about it like that, however. He'll just say he does't like it, without trying to make me feel bad anout it. So, really, I shouldn't be so secretive about it. I'm just wierd like that. It's kind of in my nature to be secretive ninja

Yesh! PotO and PotP pride! I am proud of being abnormally obsessed. But you know, I don't usually hide those obsessions. I really think it was just because I was really PMS-y that day. I just get wierd and moody when that happens. *runs into washroom and comes out brandishing plunger*

But, seriously, you can see that I am abnormally obsessed just by walking into my room and seeing my big Phantom shrine, which takes up almost my entire dresser. So I'm not exactly secretive about that most of the time, lol. Just me being moody and odd.

By the way, I watched another Miyazaki film the other day. The Cat Returns. I heart it. I liked the story better than Whisper of the Heart. and his animation is always incredible. My friend and I had dubbed it the "freaky cat movie" because we had to turn it off due to our other friend's fear of cats (well, not exactly a fear--they just sort of freak her out). The scene where the cats were marching down the street at night kind of disturbed her (though, if I were to go outside and see that, I'd run back inside screaming). But now I call it "the funnie cat movie" because it was amusing. *rambles some more*
PostPosted: Sat Jul 01, 2006 8:45 pm

Canada day? Okaay.

I can make toast. And pasta. That's about it.

Woo! My best friend bought me Volume 1 today! I'm so happy. And I got Princess Mononoke. Both movies having copious amounts of blood. Lovely! heart

Hehe, the nassty hobbitses!

They so are. Fantasy is so cool. I'm so insane. And lovin' every minute.

Yay!

Secritivity is kinda in my nature too. It's weird. Yet...it seems natural. Maybe an extension of OCPD (for me, anyhow).

Haha, moody and odd. That describes me so well too.

*Brandises...halberd...'cause halberds are cool*

Freaky cat movie, eh? I really kinda want to see that now. Hmm.

Yup, it's pretty much our version of Independence Day. But there weren't a lot of fireworks here because it was raining xd

I've never tried making pasta before, but at least I know that I can make toast! wink

Yaay! That's good, you finally got your movies.

The sneaky little hobbitses stole the preciousss! (hehe, Gollum was so my favourite part of those movies!)

Yupyup. Fantasy! Yeah, and me too. Hehehe.

Yeah, it does seem natural. I can't really not be secretive.

Yay! Moody and odd people unite!

*comes back after Googling to find out what a halberd is* Cooool.

Yeah, there's this one scene where the main character is looking out the window at night, and she sees all these cats marching down the street on their hind legs, so she goes outside to watch. Lol, it's kind of funny, but then you think "Man, if that actually happened, I'd totally be running back into the house." I liked it though. And then all these cats want her to marry their prince in order to show her gratitude for saving him (she saved him from being hit by a truck). It's kind of funny. And cute. ^_^

Oooh, guess what? I'm going to Newfoundland on Saturday (Yay!) for about ten days. I'm going with my uncle and his girlfriend. The only thing I'm really concerned about is inhaling a lot of secondhand smoke (they smoke a lot). But other than that, I'm looking forward to it.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 03, 2006 7:34 pm

Nice. And so lose to independance day, too. My city celebrates independance day on the third, which is kind of really weird. And I kind of wish I could have gone to see the fireworks. But ehh. They're not held in the same locale as they were when I was younger and that's the whole reason I would have gone anyway.

Pasta is easy. You should try it. The first time I made it, it was fine. And I only did that 'cause I hadn't eaten for like, a whole day and was in some serious pain.

The one thing that can get me to cook: Pain. xd

Yusyus! I is so happy.

Maan, I have a fantasy book for one of my book clubs now. It's so refreshing. I haven't read books in that particular fashion for ages. I completely needed the fix. (It's called Birdwing by...well, I'm not entirely sure who by. Heh.)

Same. Like, my mom knew I had cleaned my room before, and she just had to see it, and afterward I felt like I had just told somebody I didn't trust a really dark secret. It was so weird. But secrecy is kind of born in me and it seems that there's nothing really I can do about it.

Yeah. They unite...in us!

Dude, halberds are like, the coolest looking weapons ever. I'd so want to fight with one.

Haha, nice. That movie sounds so weird. Yet...I'm intrigued. Hmm.

Good luck with that trip. And stay away from the smoke or somesuch. As much as you can, anyway. And breathe shallowly. Into your hands.

Or just wear a gas mask. xd

Duude, I think my mom is trying to quelch my Winslow love now. Somehow I manage to hang on though. gonk

Saaave meeee!

I'm baaaack! I totally didn't get around to posting on here yesterday, yet I'm on here after 1:30 AM, when I'm supposed to be in bed. Go figure.

The fourth of July celebrated on the third of July? That is wierd lol

Well, at least something motivates you to cook, lol. Must try to make pasta.

Birdwing, eh? I shall probably look that one up At some point. but I really can't be on here for long. Must get ready for bed. Even though I'm not sleepy. Fantasy is so much fun.

We are both as wierd as one another, I suppose. Hehe, I know what you mean. It's like it's completely beyond your control. It's just part of my nature.

YESH! I'm usually more wierd than I am moody, but I can be quite moody at times.

I know! I'd never even heard of 'em. I had to go and google them just to see what they were. But they do look pretty awesome.

I'm not sure if it's really as wierd as I made it sound (I kinda just mentioned the really wierd parts lol )but it's a pretty good movie. It's funnie. I won't tell you anything more about it in case you decide to watch it. I heart his movies. They're just so...whimsical, or something. And fantasy-ish.

Lol, actually, it shouldn't be so bad. My uncle is quite considerate of others when it comes to smoking. And if he was smoking in the car, he'd have the window open so that it wouldn't blow in my direction. It's just that I like to avoid cigarette smoke as much as possible. And smoke in general.

Nuuuuu! No quelching of the Winslow-love!!! It cannot/should not be quelched. *tries to think of ways to save Thorn, and ends up throwing her a lifesaver* Okay, I know that you're not immersed in water, but that's all I could think of. I need sleep, lol.
