"Indeed..." Cindy murmured, "Well I'll have time to see how the medicines are used now the only real time I did was the last two first, and on the first visit here when the Ranch opened the group of children had been very badly abused for being on their way North."
She could still remember seeing no tongue, and that had given her the wiggles for a long while.
"But that would be an excellent idea, I do grow most of the plants, and it would also be a good time to see which plants both our world has."

"And for you to learn what the plants of our world can do," Adonai added with a smile. "After all, you did want to study our plants, did you not? I can share my knowledge with you, for their healing properties ... and others ..."
His eyes glowed softly with the pleasure of having someone with the same academic interest as him. It was rare - sure people knew about the plants, what they were good for and the like ... but how many people actually wanted to study them, research them?

Cindy grinned at that, that would be most useful actually. She hoped she would be more successful in bringing plants back this time too, though she had a lot of time to do that later.
"That would be wonderful, and maybe with some research, I can find out what they can be used in," she looked at her potions, "Yes I use magic, but only to extend the potentcy of the plant, to make sure it would last longer, otherwise it would just stop working of it stayed here for too long, but it's all plant based."

"So you make large quantities all at once," Adonai nodded. "I see. We've always made just a small amount of what we need, that way we're certain that nothing will go to waste. Of course, there are some recipes that need large quantities of certain things no matter how little you want to make, but for the most part ..."
Waste not, as the saying went, and it was an accurate image of the values of the elves.

"Well.. not just large qualities, but to..." she tried to put it in the best terms, "But to put it in a form that would provide additional help.
She pointed to one potion bottle meant to prevent infection.
"That actually has more than one herb, the mixture helps the body fight infection, and cleans out the system should there be already one starting. One herb was for flushing out the beginnings of an infection, and there were three carefully chosen ones to make sure they did not conflict with each other to help prevent one from occuring until whatever it was, often a wound was healed."
Cindy pointed to the burn cream.
"It's aloe juice that sooths a lot of things especially burns, but as a juice it does good on small burns and the like, but on something larger, like a burn on the hand it was made into a cream form."

Adonai nodded. "Do they take long to prepare?" he asked curiously. "The potions and the like, I mean. Do they take hours? Days? Or are they of the sort that they take even longer, a month or even a year?"
He had heard of concoctions like that, though he had never used one or made one himself.

"It varies," Cindy admitted, "Burn cream could be made within a day depending on how much of it needs to be made, it just needs time to cool. Something more complicated like solution to prevent infection could day a few days, mainly because you need to be careful not to contaminate it... medinces actuallly don't take long to make."
It was just the non medinice things did, between the time of extraction and to put it together it could take well over a week if not more.
"But I guess it also depends on what is in season," she murmured wrly, "But yes... a week.. at most maybe a bit more depending on how complicated it is to exact what is needed from the plant. Since sometimes it can only be found in the petals or.. more difficult inside the stem."

Adonai knew what that was like.
"Some of the most potent medicines I have found in the stems of certain flowers," he murmured, "but you are right, it is very difficult to obtain."

Finding, sorting and jotting down which medicines should be replaced and which could stay for a while longer, as well as which needed more of was dutifully noted by Cindy with Adonai's help. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, certainly with the increase of hunts since her own last visit helped greatly in making sure nothing went to waste.
She would take the old medincation made sure it was well neutralized before depositing of them. It all didn't take as long as she thought it would, so she was able to spend time with the children that were in the playroom while Rhea herself played.

While Cindy and Adonai had been working with the medicines, Haradhel had brought the children in from play8ing outside and tried to settle them all down with a bit of hot cider. Many of them were shy of Cindy at first, but Rhea assured them that the strange-looking girl was just as nice as Kara had been, and that there was nothing to be afraid of. A few of the children had watched her while she worked after that, though the rest had just gone back to playing.
"So did you get all the med'cine checked out?" Rhea asked Cindy, bouncing on her toes and grinning widely. "It's all safe for the children to take?"

"Well it is now," Cindy replied.
She hadn't brought a bag so she had to get one to put all the useless medinication in, so she could take it back with ehr.
"Now, I just need to replace the medicines that it's running low on, but that will have to be for a later date."

Rhea's eyes sparkled brightly. "Can you teach me how to make them?" she asked eagerly. "And what they do and how they work? Just like Papa does with all the stuff he researches? Please? Can you?"
She folded her hands together and looked up at Cindy expectantly, begging with her eyes and even curling her lips in a slight pout, eyes wide and pleading.

If there was anything Cindy had learnt teaching Rhea was that the girl was always eager to learn. Very useful quality in a student, she giggled and nodded. She had no reason to deny Rhea a useful skill like that.
"Alright, I don't see why not, but be warned it's more lessons."

Rhea's eyes sparkled brightly.
"I know," she giggled. "But who said that's a bad thing? I like lessons, especially lessons with you!" She hugged Cindy around the stomach (as seemed to have become a habit for her lately). "And I promise to be a very good student for you and listen to everything you say and do what you tell me to do and everything!"
Adonai chuckled from where he had been chatting with one of the children. "As usual," he grinned proudly at his daughter.

Cindy smiled, it was a touching thing for Rhea to say. After all nothing made a teacher prouder than having a student who liked being in their lessons.
"I know you will, you always do," she repiled softly, giggling a bit as she hugged back.
