((Yeah, feel better soon! G'night!))

Abyssinia followed Reaper into the kitchen, heartened by the smell of food. She peered into the pot of soup and recognized it as one of Agria's dishes. While she knew that she loved it, it also brought up some sudden, painful emotions. She managed to choke out her answer to Reapers question. "I'm just, doing a bit of traveling away from home," she lied.

((Hope you feel better))
"Oh okay..sleep well," Seza said as he went upstairs. She took another sip of her wine then placed it on the table. She thought it tasted nice, but she didn't really want to drink it if she didn't have to.

He smiled. "Really? Well, so am I. I'm up here looking for dragons!" He started laughing. "Some poor fool is actually paying me to come up here and look for dragons." He smiled again, tasting the soup and shaking his head. "So, you're a traveller, and I'm a mercenary. We have a knight staying here, a mage owns it, and a lovely local helps out as well. Wonder what brought us all here, eh?"

Abyssinia listened politely to his banter, while distracted by the memories brought up by the food. That is, until he mentioned that the owner of this Inn was a mage. As in, uses magic. She was shocked into staring by the way he said it so casually. Abyssinia had been staying out of the way of all the major cities, large towns, and any place where you could be seen by many people. This was the first time she had heard mention of magic.

"The owner of this Inn, is a mage? How is he living on his own, not working for the government? Do you mean to say, that he is a free mage? That he is accepted?" Incredulity penetrated her voice, breaking her usually calm demeanor.

Reaper raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. I can use magic, to an extent myself." He leaned a little closer to her. "... I remember now! You come from Agria! I worked for your family once... I think." He scratched his chin. "The looks I got as I walked around..." He shook his head. "So, can you use magic then?"

Abyssinia tried to think if she had seen him before, but couldn't recall anything of him. Her parents had kept her far away from any mages, lest they had influenced her in any way. "No, I cannot use magic, at least not anymore..." She trailed off at the end, unconsciously she started rubbing her gloved hand, underneath the mark the curse had left on her.

"Not anymore?" He tilted his head. "Shame. Magic is a gift, not a curse." He took another sip of the soup, nodded and filled a bowl up, handing it to Abyssinia. "So, got a nick name?" He smiled at her softly. "You can call me Jack by the way."

Abyssinia took the bowl gratefully, immediately taking a large gulp, even as it burned her mouth. "You can call me Sinia." She kept eating the warm soup, glad for something to fill her long empty stomach. When she was finished she placed the bowl down on the table. While doing so she noticed a spider making its way towards her across the table. It was her one power left, though she liked to keep it a secret, a connection with the spindly creatures.

Reaper took the bowl with a smile, walking back to the large pot. "Want some more Sinia?" He placed the bowl down next to the pot and rooted around for some other food. "I think there is some bread here as well if you want..." He stopped dead, pain emanated from his right hand in waves.
"...Oh no."

Sinia was about to accept his offer of some more soup when he stopped in the middle of his motion, she looked at Jack, concern on her face. "Jack, are you alright? What's wrong?"

Reaper was so focused on his hand, he barely heard Sinia. But he shook his head and grabbed some bread he found. "Ye-yeah, I'm fine." He smiled weakly. "Don't worry about it..." He filled her bowl up again and placed it in front of her, with the bread. He put his left hand on his right glove, stopped for a second, then pulled it off. "It's just... it hurts sometimes." Engraved on the top of his hand was a strange symbol, much like the one he had shown the others before. A diamond, with a circle in the middle and a dot inside that. It seemed to actually move, the dark colours twisting inside it.

Sinia continued to watch Jack with concern, not noticing the food he put before her. Her heart jumped into her mouth when he took off his glove, there was a mark engraved on his hand, was it a curse, like her own? Sinia's own hand moved to her other, the soft white leather concealed the twisting marks covering her hand and forearm, though they were more like healed over burns than anything else.

"Jack, what is that?"

He looked away. "It... is called a Dark Seal, it is used in the villages where I grew up to... well, to kill the weak and make the strong stronger." He bit his lower lip. "I can activate, if you will, and it gives me a burst of power. I become faster. I hit harder. However, I lose most of my reasoning abilities, sometimes all of them. I become a killing machine." He froze for a minute, not sure if he should go on. "They... also link family members to each other if they are close enough."

Sinia found herself wondering where there could be such villages. Kill the weak and make the strong stronger. While Agria was not what you would call a peaceful place, it certainly wasn't warmongering in any way. "Oh," was all she found she could say. Sinia looked away from Jack and at the food placed before her. She found she wasn't hungry anymore though.

I'm not the only one here with a story then

"I think I'll just be going to my room now, but thank you for the food, it was delicious." She gave a small wave of farewell for the night, turned, and left for her room.

((I should be going, it's getting late, Bye!))

Reaper nodded. "Ok, see you in the morning..." He pulled his glove on. Idiot! You scared her. He growled at himself, as he stashed the bread away and cleaned the bowl. He placed his hands on the table, deep in thought, when something very lightly tickled his hand.
He looked down to find a spider. "Oh, hey little guy... you're not scared of Reaper, the 'murderer' are you?" He sighed, thinking back to all the times he'd be chased from towns and villages. "I wish... there was just someone who saw past the mercenary, and saw the teenager." He rubbed his eyes, brushing away the start of tears, shooing the spider off his hand before walking up to his room.

(( I should be going as well, night night! ))
