Sandra blushed slightly, still feeling overwhelmed. "I... Yes, Col-- er, Nick," she said, before clearing her throat. "I'm going to need a glass of water. Or... several. But... again, Si-- Nick, is there anything you need my personal help with? Anything that needs doing?"

Fury shrugged. "If you feel like sitting around waiting for all computer systems to come back online, yes. But I think at the moment, you'd be better served having some time to recompose yourself. It's not every day you get handed the second-highest position in S.H.I.E.L.D." Nick smiled. "Don't worry. When we get back on track, I'll give you and your husband some time to celebrate. And speaking of your husband..." The Colonel got serious again. "...This is going to be a very real test of your marriage. You must not show favoritism. You must not let it get in the way of your job, and he must not let it get in the way of his. This is why I told you both when you first started seeing each other that I don't recommend dating within the organisation. I wasn't going to tell you how to live your lives, though, and I'm still not going to. Just keep in mind, any infraction against what I just told you WILL result in you BOTH being removed from service. Is that understood?"

Oddly enough, this seemed to not just pull Sandra out of her daze, but get her somewhat angry.
"Nick," she said in a low voice. "I have toiled, bled, and sweated for SHIELD for nearly three decades, as has my husband. We even continued our service while raising our only child. To think that I'd show favoritism, to my husband, or perhaps my son should he join... Nick, do you honestly think that after nearly thirty years of working my a** off and being utterly devoted to this organization, and playing by all the rules-- all of them-- that I'd do something like that? I mean, really..."

"Sorry," Fury said, putting his hands up in surrender, "I give that spiel to everyone with your situation that I give a higher position to. I know you don't need to hear it, but if I didn't give it to you, then I'D be the one showing favoritism. I meant no disrespect."

Sandra quirked an eyebrow, and smiled a bit. "Well, if we're being that informal..." she said with a grin, before she took a deep breath and leaned back, putting her feet up on the desk. "So... We just sit around, waiting for the computers to come back on? And then we can contact the Avengers, correct?"

"Like I said," Nick replied with a smile, seeing her actually relaxed for the first time since the meeting started, "The Avengers can take care of themselves for the time being. My priority is the rank and file S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. And yes, that includes your husband."

Sandra's grin faded. "Alright... So, what exactly are you wanting to happen, Nick?" she asked. We find them, gather them up... then what?"
Feeling somewhat bored, she waved her hand and a Nintendo DS appeared; she took it and turned it on, playing Super Mario 64 DS. She paused after a moment and looked to Nick. "Shall I conjure up something to occupy your time, too?"

Sandra smiled a bit, before quickly dying in her game.
"Gah! Stupid Bob-ombs... Wretched little things..." she said as she closed the DS and with another wave of her hand, it vanished. Then she sighed, setting her feet back down on the floor.
"When do you think the computers will be back online, Nick?" she asked.

"Lady, that's up to the techheads..." Fury said, putting a hand to his head, something like frustration in his voice; he wasn't used to not being on top of things. A half-broken base, a helecarrier down... Things did NOT look good for S.H.I.E.L.D. right now.

Nick thought for a moment, then said, "You could probably help get things back up and running. Either that, or you can try to use your powers to locate our agents. Either one would be a huge help."

I'll try my hand at both-- not at the same time, obviously..." Sandra said, before getting up and strolling out of the Briefing Room. And then she started to think.
I'm the goddamn Deputy Director, I can have this sort of thing done in any way I desire... But where to start? she asked herself. Then, she decided to spin around on her heel, using her sorcery to attempt to influence the technology in the base. She could feel it working; the lights flickered, and she could sense the computers trying to start up. However, it took her two more tries to make it happen without fail. Satisfied, she sauntered back into the Briefing Room, a lazy smile on her face.
"Well, that is done with, and it only took me three tries," she said to Fury.
