"Yeah." Adrian looked down at Carlos when the unicat leaned against him. He gave him a small smile and turned back to the movie, even though he hadn't really been watching it at all since they started it.

Adrian may not really have been paying attention to the movie, but Carlos was none the wiser. He was really only half-watching himself, too many distractions. It really was difficult to focus on when the rat was so close and amiable with him. No grouching at all. It took very little time before the unicat was purring, tail flopping about lightly against his leg. This was about where they were last time when Horea had ruined everything. Well, he wasn't here and Carlos was determined (would try at least) not to fall asleep! He clutched tightly at the fabric of Adrian's shirt without realizing it.

Adrian gave Carlos a look when he noticed the unicat was purring. He shrugged it off, guessing that Carlos was enjoying himself. He did notice when the unicat gripped his shirt tightly. "Is something wrong?"

He glanced back up at Adrian. Realizing what he was doing, Carlos immediately let go and tried to smooth out Adrian's shirt. "No, sorry..." It was a stupid thing to be thinking about anyway.

Adrian gave Carlos another look. "If nothing's wrong then why did you practically rip my shirt?" The rat hoped he wasn't the cause of the unicat's discomfort.

"I didn't mean to." Ears flopping to either side in dismay, he started to pull away, not wanting to do anything else to annoy Adrian. "My mind started to wander and I thought about something I didn't want to think about."

Adrian pulled Carlos back next to him, missing the warmth and comfort the unicat brought him. "You don't have to move. Do you want to do something else, so you don't think about whatever it was you thought about again?"

There was no resistence in Carlos when Adrian pulled him back. He was just a little surprised. He was quick to curl back up against him however, but not before leaning up to kiss him gently with a little smile. Then he leaned with his cheek against Adrian's chest. "I was just thinking about last time we did this. We were having a great time and it was ruined. But that doesn't mean I want this to stop... unless there was something else you wanted to do?" He peered up at the rat curiously, wondering if Adrian had something in mind.

Adrian stiffened slightly, letting go of Carlos, at the mention of what happened last time they were together. That was something the rat really tried to forget. "I don't have anything else in mind. I'm fine doing what we're doing." He wrapped his arm back around the unicat, relaxing again when he realized the unicat didn't want to stop doing what they were doing.

Carlos blinked, ears flattening a little when the rat stiffened. Would he have to be ready to flee? But no, everything turned out all right. Maybe Adrian really had needed that extra month to get his priorities straight. "I'm glad," he murmured. They shouldn't let it bother them.

The rat sighed and settled back into watching the movie with Carlos. His mind did wander though, wondering about how the unicat can still be around him when it brings up the night he almost killed one of Carlos' housemates who just happened to be one of Jimi's best friends as well?

Easy answer: Carlos did not like Horea at all. Ever since he stepped foot in the Nullspace, he had treated the unicat poorly. He probably would have felt even less pity for him if not for Jimi. These probably were not good things for Adrian to know however; he might have done worse to Horea. That was why now, it was easy for the unicat to become content, worried only that even mentioning the coon had put Adrian into a bad mood. He glanced up at the rat after a while, during a slow moment in the movie, and kissed his jaw lightly.

Adrian sighed and moved a little bit, getting even more comfortable. This day has been going really well. Which does make the rat a little nervous, waiting for something to happen and blow up this happiness, but he wasn't going to complain about it or go looking for something to go wrong.

Carlos smiled and leaned back against Adrian, draping his arm across the rat's belly. It look little time before he was completely content again, purring quietly into Adrian's chest. His ears drooped a little as he relaxed.

Adrian continued watching the movie and just enjoying being with Carlos. The rat wondered if the unicat would end up falling asleep, since he seemed very relaxed.
