Anna held him out at arms length. With the angelic wars raging, she had heard barely anything from him in ages, it seemed.

"Yes, something's broken through the gate. Pyralis and I saw the thing at the fish pond, out in Moline." Letting her hands drop, Anna gestured to the chair in front of her desk. "Would you like to sit and have some tea? You look like you could use a bit of a rest." Hopefully with her soft smile she could coax him into relaxing in this new environment.

Anna went over to her little water cooler and poured him a hot cup of water into a mug. After handing that over to her guest, Anna brought him her little tea chest so he could choose his own flavor of tea.
"You know, I'm not sure. It was definitely a spirit, but it seemed too... formed? As if it was beginning to become more solid. It attacked, but luckily Pyralis fended it off." Anna couldn't help but smile as she remembered his bravery. What would Damien think if she said she had found her love?

"I'm terribly worried about the students. I think that creature is what is giving them nightmares and making them ill."

Immediately her face turned a bright pink. She laughed lightly, setting the chest down on her table.
"You could tell, couldn't you? The way I talked about him." With a bit of excitement, she brought her chair in front of his. "You... you've heard of people having a connection, correct? Of having an immediate, soul mate bond?" Her eyes implored that he did. "Without a doubt, I have found my soul mate."

"I hope we do, too. But it's so hard when we're both working in the same place. You can't kiss in front of the Headmaster, you know?" Once more, she laughed gaily.
"But enough of me. How have you been? How is everything in the Immortal Realms?"

"....so things are even worse." Anna had an awkward smile about her as she tried to milk information out of him. "I wonder if the angelic conflicts are causing the evil to go towards the Gate," she said, more to herself than anything. "But, if nothing can be done at the moment, no sense in worrying. I'm sure you'll like it here at the Academy. Do you think you'll become a teacher?"

At that, Anna was utterly confused. His response to her previous question had been genuine afterall.
"The wars, Damien. They've been raging for years and years... where have you been?" Surely being an angel meant that he was entangled in the battles as well? Or perhaps it didn't mean that. "There are two angels at the gate. Perhaps you should talk to them when they're available..." Suddenly Anna felt very guilty about bringing it up. "Oh, I'm sorry to be the one to have told you that."

"In the Immortal Realm, conflicts have broken out over the years between the Light and Darkness." And by years, she meant years. Time flowed differently for those given extensive lives, so really the battles could have been happening for hundreds of years.
"Please, do calm yourself. You're safe here." Anna reached out to touch his arm in a gentle fashion, hoping that her seemingly fragile guest wouldn't regret his choice in coming to the Academy.

Anna smiled once more.
"Believe me, the Grove will do you good. The students will be utterly fascinated by you. We already have a fae here who's caught a bit of attention." She laughed at remembering Fern, who she saw briefly dancing about the gardens. The humans had stared, only to see her laugh and flit away.
