"That was mighty kind of you, Alok, thank you." He really was too kind. 'And why?' she couldn't help asking herself. They weren't good friends, just mere acquaintances. 'Oh well, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth I suppose,' What a silly phrase that was, but the meaning stood true. "Come on then, fill that aching tummy of yours, Riima. And make sure you leave some for Alok!"

"Uh, of course." Riima said, sniffing at the rabbit. She leaned forward and started on a leg slowly. She looked up at Alok and Monroe to see if they were going to join her.

Monroe watched Riima start on the rabbit. When the kit looked up at her, she nodded enthusiastically. "That's a plentiful rabbit Alok hunted down there. I'm sure you could eat more than that"

"Oh, I know. I just feel bad that you guys aren't eating too." Riima explained smiling. She gestured to the rabbit, "you should have some too."

"It's quite alright, Riima. I'm not that hungry and I'm sure Alok will join in once you've had your fill!" Monroe said, "Besides, I can always get myself and mayhap Alok another rabbit! So don't you hesitate." She felt awkward offering away Alok's catch like that but she would definitely catch another if the kit could miraculously stuff the entire rabbit into that stomach of hers.

"Oh, okay" Riima replied, now eating hungrily. Soon after eating not even the two back legs she was stuffed. "That was delicious, and there's quite a bit left too." She said smiling at Alok and Roe.

Karen waking up after a very long sleep decided to wonder around and see who was there and maby catch something to eat.

“Thah’s a girl now,” Alok praised happily as Riima took to her fill. Then, turning two soft amber eyes towards the other adult, he nodded towards the plump carcass invitingly. “S’alrigh’ if ya eat some, Miss Roe. I’d rather ya be takin’ yer fill before I have a go.” If anything he wanted to make sure the other two were satisfied - even if that meant catching another critter.

"Well... If you really don't mind.." Monroe said with uncertainty. Was denying a charitable offering more ill-mannered than sharing in another's meal? When she put it like that, she supposed the prior would hurt this particular fox more than her gracious acceptance so she took an uncertain bite. The rabbit was delicious and her stomach ached for more but she stopped after tearing a second piece off of the corpse. She withdrew, eating slowly, watching Alok for any sign of disapproval.

If he wasn’t so damned nervous her act of shyness towards the meal might have been cute, but, for the most part, Alok just wanted both his and her awkwardness to disappear with the rabbit. Hesitantly, he took to all fours and lowered his neck, as if to take a few bites of his own. “We can eat together if it’ll make ya feel better,” he suggested politely as one corner of his lips lifted in a smile, “I jus’ don’t want ta be makin’ ya feel bad or anythin’.” With that, he busied his teeth with the back of the kill, nearest to the neck.

Monroe nodded and smiled slightly and tucked into what was left of the thigh. 'That wasn't too hard, was it? Shame on me, I should have more guilt eating someone else's meal like this!'

After a few minutes of eating with pauses in between to swallow, Alok sat back and gave one of his caramel-dipped paws a lick; the small yet plentiful meal had been enough to please his stomach until morning. All three Foxes had contributed to a fine method of cleaning out the rabbit until only a bit of meat, fur and bones remained. This wasn’t how he’d planned to spend his evening, but it had worked out rather nicely.

Riima meanwhile was curled up in the soft grass once more, sleeping on her meal. She snuffled and tossed in her sleep.

Monroe cleansed her maw with one her forelegs, full and satisfied. "Thank you again, Alok." Riima had already settled down and Roe automatically looked up to see the sky pitch black, lined with a breathtaking number of stars surrounding a bright crescent moon. "The sky looks amazing tonight.." she breathed, as if her voice would disturb the display.

Riima woke up to a pitch dark night. She stared up at the stars sitting beside her adoptive mother. She truly felt safe and happy here.
