Callista looked up at Valzar and sniffled. "Because no one has recognized me as a lifemate yet. As a female I should already have a line of males waiting to see if I'm their lifemate...but no one's coming to see me. I don't want to end up by myself. The Vampires will hunt me down. They're scary..."

Callista sniffled again. "I know I shouldn't but I do. The Vampires would kill me. But they would do it slowly and painfully." She started crying. "And then Daddy would try to come and get me...and he could get hurt..." She shook with tears and laid down, covering up her head.

Callista looked up at Valzar with bloodshot eyes. "I know they wouldn't leave me. I don't want a vampire to kill them because of me either. Either way someone's going to die." She sobbed a little more and stood up. "I don't know what to do."

Callista blinked and nodded. "I guess. It sounds logical enough." She sniffled. "I'll have to try to do better." She walked over to a puddle to look at herself. She squeeked when she saw her reflection. "I look terrible!" She waved her hoof and her hair fell back into place and the dirt and tear stains were gone from her face. "That's better."

"Yes, but that's not magic. That's just how we clean ourselves. We're of the earth, so we can control certain aspects of the earth. Like when we think about being clean we get clean. Or if I wanted clothes, I'd just have to think about them and I'd get them."

"Because we're moving the earth. When we make clothes, it's because the clothes are made from natural things, like cotton, so we can create them from the air. With the cleaning, it's because the dirt and stuff that doesn't belong is natural, so we send it back to where it came from. The earth." She tried not to look as confused as she felt. In truth, she didn't know exactly why it worked, only that Gregori had explained it to her that way, or at least some way similar to that. She couldn't remember his exact wording.
