Kanis raised a brow and nods helping get her and her sister's bed compfy. "Are you sure you don't want to sleep too Armus? You have been up all day right?" She still had so much to learn and her mind was buzzing enough with her first day's training.

Ruran turns and glares at Corrah, "I would take one or two out if I were an adult!" he hissed and wanted to dig his nails into the guy holding him but he knew then he would fall and the wolves could attact. He just hung still trying to calm his anger. "IF you hate people so much why worry about training anyone, why let them get close to you? Why care?"

Armus smiled at Kanis. "I'll be fine," she assured her. "I've been trained for this, don't forget." She winked at the girls. "Don't worry about me. I'll sleep tomorrow."

Aras wasn't sure about the whole situation, but she was too tired to think about it. She simply crawled into the pile of leaves, making sure to leave room for her sister and curled up in a ball.

Corrah laughed again. "Who said that I hate people?" he challenged the boy. "I hate what people do, I hate what they are like ... but I do not hate people collectively. I hate nothing and no one collectively. I respect or hate people individually based on what I know about them. Tell me, who do I have who is close to me? Armus stays because she has nowhere else to go. It is a convenience for both of us. We share the work of the hunt and preparing the food ... we share the responsibility of keeping danger at bay ... and we both survive. What disadvantage is there to that?"

Kanis nods and and crawls in with her sister nuzzling up to Aras. She missed her dragon and the safety of the home. But at least she had her sister with her.

Ruran glares at him, "You grow weak relaying on someone else. If that person were to die or become useless you would be hindered!" He laughed, "And you say you don't hate everyone but you hate them...you do not go to them you would rather be alone and ignore all....until you feel like grazing someone with your training." he rolled his eyes.

Corrah didn't flinch. "Who says that I rely on her?" he asked in a mocking tone. "I can do just fine on my own, as I did for many years before I found her. If she chose to leave, nothing would change."

He paused. "I believe I have learned something about you," he said softly, thoughtfully, though his gaze and grip did not waver. "Choosing to live apart from others does not show hatred, but rather respect ... it is you who feels nothing but hatred. It rules your heart, your thoughts, your actions ..."

Ruran's eyes went wide, "Don't you judge me you...damn loner!" he picked up the word from Corrah who had used it twice on him. "You don't judge me! I don't car about your words your just a pathetic pervert who lives in the woods and takes on young girls. I am sure my sisters wont walk right after your done with them!"

Now he didn't care about the wolves around him and he struggled against the hand that held him. He hated this man how dare he judge him!

As Ruran began to struggle the wolves rose to their feet and began to growl. To them, he was nothing more than a bite but he was still a bite.

"For one who hates being judged," Corrah said evenly, ignoring the wolves, "you do a wonderful job of judging, yourself. You know far less about me than I do about you, I assure you. Your sisters mean nothing to me, and the fact that they are girls is only incidental. I will happily train anyone of their willingness. They wish to improve. You, I fear, have little chance of ever becoming as good as they will one day be."

Ruran's eyes grew grey again in furry, "Shut up I will be better than them, they are worthless and should never have been allowed out of their vases. All women are useless and should know their place. They should not be allowed to fight." he didn't care about the wolves around him right now he was so angry that he they tried to each him he would break their jaw as he went down. or choke them. Had almost calmed down too.

Corrah laughed, for the first time losing some of his composure.

"You're joking!" he mocked the boy. "You? Better than them? Don't make me laugh!" He laughed again. "The way you are now you could never hope to be good enough to even speak to them. Worthless. Bah!" He spit to one side to show his disdain, his arm never moving.

"If you think you're so good," he smirked, "perhaps tomorrow when Armus comes back with your sisters, you could try your luck against her. You wouldn't be able to touch her."

Ruran growled, "Oh I am better than them I can beat either of my sisters. I will show you let me fight them...or how is it....spar with them and I will show you who is more tough me or them!"

He smirked, "One day I am sure I will be able to touch both you and her.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 27, 2008 9:01 pm

"Not without training, you won't," Corrah retorted. "If your sisters train themselves and you remain the fool that you are, refusing to put yourself under anyone's rule, you won't be able to defeat anyone. Fighting is not just throwing punches or blocking them, a fight is about speed, agility, strength, and most of all accuracy. If you can't land a blow or block one, then you're useless."

He was starting to get frustrated with the boy's stupidity. He had potential ... but with an attitude like he had, it would never be of any use.

"Then train me to beat them...train me so I will always be better than them." He looked at Corrah his eyes were still grey with anger but now filled with a determination. He would never loose to a girl or female. Ever!

Kanis could not sleep. She turned so she could watch Armus. Even if her and Aras said she could be thier sister it was not true thy could never be friends...She smiled and hoped then that Corrah would always yell at her...always push her.

Armus was sitting with her back to the girls, but she could feel eyes on her back. She knew she was being watched - though she did not know by which girl.

She took her beret off and scratched the back of her head. She didn't know if she was doing things right with them ... she wouldn't know if she made any mistakes. She had never dealt with children before.

For the first time, she knew how Corrah must have felt when he had found her.

Corrah stared at Ruran, his gaze softening perhaps for the first time.

"Then I have but one rule for you," he said softly. "My word is law. I speak, you obey. Any deviations and I will stop your training immediately. Is that understood?"

Kanis watched Armus and before she knew it the soft fire light and watching the woman she wanted to become she fell asleep nuzzled against her sister.

Ruran's eyes changed back to there normal color and he nods, "Yes...its understood....but I better come out the best of the three....I need to put them in there place....especially Aras..." He looked into the cold blue eyes his body relaxing to the hanging again no longer full of anger but now looking very and completely exhausted. It seemed finally the boy's energy had been spent.

Only once Armus no longer felt the eyes on her back did she turn around to look at the girls. She smiled, watching them sleep. They were so adorable ...

"Sleep well," she whispered, turning back to face the night.

Corrah was pleased with Ruran's decision, but there was one thing that he had to make clear.

"Who comes out the best of you is not controlled by me," he told Ruran seriously, "but by how hard you train. You will get out of it as much as you put into it. If one of your sisters is more earnest about their training, then they will become your better. Only you can determine who will be stronger."

He was tempted to lower the boy and take him to some shelter, but he could not end a lesson halfway through. He had to wait until Ruran asked humbly to be let down, or else the entire ordeal would be for nothing.

Ruran growled, "I will not allow them to beat me...I will never allow one of them to beat me!" He looked up at Corrah his eyes were wide an starting to grow in anger though he was clearly getting exhausted. His body hung there tiredly though his eyes blazed.
