Jack was still for a long time after Alice had left. What had he felt? When she touched him the emotions had hit him like something physical. Was it just him? Had he just lost his mind here already?
I still feel her…
Jack began to pace the room. Why was he shaking so badly? He clenched his fists and unclenched them. He rubbed his eyes. He scratched his skin. Every little action felt so terrible, so over exaggerated.
Jack stopped moving and took in a sharp breath. He knew this feeling. His nerves had gotten the best of him and now he had to have drugs. There was no wanting them, he needed them. Jack turned and shoved the door open. If there were people he didn’t notice them.
How long has it been?
The tile beneath his feet was like ice. He rubbed his eyes again. His breath came out in frantic panting.
There must be something here….if there are doctors there are drugs…..there is something.
Jack headed for the stairs. Or rather, he was almost certain he was going in the general direction of them. They were not allowed to go to the basements except to go into solitary. What else was down there? Labs? Medicine?
Jack had already suffered through withdrawals once. He wasn’t going to get hooked again.
“Just a little to brush away the nerves,” he told himself. “Just enough.”

((It's nighttime by now, isn't it?))

As Charlie reached her door and turned the knob, her stomach growled loudly. Great, just what I need, a sudden hankering for midnight snacks. Besides which, it seems that everyone is going in that direction. I'd rather be alone...But I'm so friggin' hungry! As she argued with herself, her feet automatically turned around and she allowed the door to close behind her as she followed the hall back to the stairs. As she noticed what she was doing, she gave up on the argument and allowed her legs to carry her to the dining hall, where her suspicions were confirmed. There were three girls in the dining hall already. Thorn was there, there was the girl that they had sat across from when the psychopath had told them about the poison in their systems (Charlie had thought that she had heard the name 'Alice' mentioned...), and there was also one of the girls that had been in the room then, too. The girl who she was pretty sure was named Alice was chatting with the third girl, and Charlie automatically turned to sit across the room from them. What the hell is wrong with me? Why can't I try to talk to people? I was talking to Thorn before, why can't I try to talk to Alice or that other girl? Despite her thoughts, Charlie continued to the far corner of the room and began nibbling on a peach that was in one of the nearby bowls.

"Surely!!" Alice replied as she shook the Hal's hand.
The two girls walked into the caferteria to see the tables laid out with food. The smell of pot roast and potatoes wafted to the girls, greeting them as they walked in.
The two girls sat down at a table to the left, and began fixing their plates. Alice looked up to see another girl sit across from them. She saw that the girl look kind of uneasy.
"Hi! Hungry?" Alice asked as she lifted the bowl of rolls up in front of the girl.

(( Mrrr...its 2 in the morning....brain..hurts....*dies*))

(((Oh and yes its a little past sunset.)))

Hal's eyes sparkled to see the meal that had been laid out for them. We're certainly not going to starve here!
Hal grabbed slice after slice of pot roast, potatoes, green beans, some weird thing that looked like tofu, bread... Before long, her plate was overflowing, and she had start eating or the food would fall off the plate.
Hal heard Alice say something and looked up to find the pigtailed girl sitting across from them. She didn't look too happy to be there.
Hal swallowed her slice of pot roast. "Hey there! You look like you've calmed down. Feeling better?" she asked as she wiped a bit of gravy from her mouth. Hal put the book to the side so it wouldn't get stained.

Thorn had merely taken a seat when entering. Perhaps it was because she had been running around so much at once to get away from guards that she couldn't feel her legs at all, and thus wanted to wait a moment before going to grab food. She felt exhausted, her body sore, sweating like the animal she had become, her eyes hurting again. She felt like she had been dragged around on the ground for hours or something, so she sort of zoned out for a moment with probably a sad/tired/irritable look on her face, currping her head in her arms.

However, she blinked back to reality as she heard to voices and saw two people sit across from her. Once was the "Alice" girl from back when she came in here the first time as well as at the fight, and the other was the one who had distracted the guard earlier.

While Thorn would normally retort back, not being much of a people person dispite them being kind, she was actually in a better mood. She lifted her head off of the table and rubbed one of her eyes, trying to get it to stop burning. "Yeah, I'm alright; I'll get some food in a sec. I just feel really tired, after wandering around and fearing for my life for who knows how long." she answered, with a small chuckle. "But I guess I didn't tick off the Doc enough after all, since teh guards aren't fighting me anymore and I haven't been whisked away. Be right back; I want some food."

Getting up slowly, the girl forced her legs to work as she began loading her plate with the sweet, sweet sight of food. Pot roast, potatoes, bread, vegetables...she loaded her plate full as she sat back with them and began to dig into the food, a cup of water on her right. So warm, and very good!

As she took another bite, she glanced out of the corner of her eye the book she had dropped before. She said nothing yet, though; like the jungle the girl now had ownership of what Thorn was too preoccupied to notice fall from her grasp, despite the fact it still had a few pieces of her hair being used as a bookmark in it.

"So, have you two figured out what 'mystical powers' you have yet? Found mine by accident; she's witness. Which I thank you for distracting the fat one, by the way." she nodded, trying to start conversration. She had had enough of silence for one day.

The other two girls had sat down across from Thorn, and Charlie watched as all three piled up on the food that Charlie was too busy avoiding human contact to notice. They started to chat, and Charlie felt left out, as usual. She felt the yearning to threaten to jump off the top of the staircase or push her car past 200 miles per hour and get caught speeding. But she didn't have a car at the moment, and her stomach was protesting any ideas of moving any further away from the food than she was.

Charlie's stomach cried out again, not satisfied with the peach, and she reluctantly got up and moved closer to the three girls so that she could get some food. She picked up some potatoes and pot roast, along with several rolls and some butter to go with them. She also grabbed some water and headed back to her solitary corner. She began to eat and listen to the three girls' conversation as she sat down, still not willing to join them.

Alice almost choked on her roll. Then she remembered that as far as the other girl was concerned, she had just arrived here too.
"Umm...yeah." Alice replied as she lifted the pitcher of white grape juice to refill her glass with her telekinesis. Her powers were strangely smooth, but she just brushed it off.
"I have been here for 2 years now...I have had a while to adjust to my power. "
Alice had been staring down at her plate scooting around green beans nervously.
She looked up to see that she had forgotten to put the pitcher down and lowered it slowly.
That's strange...I have never been able to sustain it that long with the serum. Even now. Alice thought to herself.
She looked around at the two girls and noticed their eyes where wide.
Yep..back to the green beans. Alice wasn't used to people, let alone them staring.
I guess that is yet another 'perk' of having been here 2 years... She though sarcastically.

Hal broke the silence by grinning. "Sweet!" she exclaimed. "So you're really good at this stuff, huh?"
She leaned back in her seat, full for the moment. "Ah, that was good. But yeah..." Hal glanced over at the pigtailed girl. "I didn't really mean to distract him, but if it worked out for you, all the better." She shrugged, then smiled. "Plus, I think I figured out my own power, as well as-"
Hal stopped, painfully aware that she knew next to nobody in this school, and sighed. "I feel like we're in an AA meeting or something." She got up and bowed to the other two. "Hi, my name is Hal McGee, and my power is reading thoughts."

Sally sat down, silent. Her hands were filled with water and her eyes were wide. She wasn't sure how to control her power, but the puddles kept appearing wherever she stepped. She looked up, smiling weakly. She didn't know exactly what her power was, she didn't exactly want to say 'I make puddles'... what would be a good word... Hydrokinesis?
That was good. She waited for her turn, practicing her introduction in her head.

Alice giggled at the 'AA' reference, and noticed more people had joined their table.
"Thought reading...wow...that has got to have it's perks." Alice said in awe.
"And yeah I have gotten the hang of the bulk of my powers." She finished as she took a sip of her juice. The stuff tasted so much better with out the serum.
Alice looked to the girl staring at her hands, she looked like she was ready to say something, and Alice decided to give her that extra push to do so.
"So how about you? Do you know your powers yet?" She asked the girl.

She flushed, looking up. "Er-um..." she realized how horrid she was at public speaking. So she clicked into her more confident side, also the violent one.
Sally smirked, standing up. "Well, I have hydrokinesis!" she tossed the puddle on the person across from her. "And I'm Sally Freud." She sat back down, switching back. She didn't like coming out when no one was fighting her.
Sally flushed, looking down. "H-hydrokinesis." she said, unaware that her other side had already told everyone and tossed water on them.

Leila woke up on the floor of her room, holding the stuffed animal she had been looking at before. She sighed softly and wiped a tear from her eye. "Man... I never fall asleep like that normally." She frowned slightly and got to her feet, placing the stuffed animal on the bed. She walked out the door and into the hallway. Time for some exploring. she thought to herself smiling softly. She strolled the halls alone, finding some stairs she mused over weither to go up or down. She decided to go up but then stopped and sat in the stairwell. She softly hummed to herself.

Brynn Syvra had made her way down to the dining hall by now. She hated to admit it, but being human like everyone else made her just as vulnerable to hunger. She followed the wafting aromas of food towards the hall, and as she walked in, she saw people making introductions and sharing powers and such. Hmmm...are they even worth talking to? That girl, she annoyed me earlier, separated me from the girl, Dawn. I'll sit at a distance, maybe they'll leave me alone. She made her eyes as empty as possible, grabbing a plate and taking what food she liked and would eat before she sat down a little ways away from the group that had collected. She listened as she bit down on a fork loaded with roast. Hydrokenesis, huh? How very interesting. Possibly useful. She sipped her drink and kept her eyes on the wall opposite her. Her face was as blank as empty paper, but thinking about her now graying eyes and darkening hair made a slight crease appear in her forehead, a sign of consternation and anger in Brynn Syvra that nobody else would notice.

Thorn noticed that more and more people seemed to join.......just at a farther distance. Ha, weaklings! They knew nothing as to how to hold a conversation! Well, not she was any good, but hey, at least she was trying to speak.

She watched in silence for a moment as the one called Alice seemed to have some sort of telekinesis, which was pretty cool. It stunk that she had been here for two years, though. Was it really worth being able to tone such powers? Thorn herself would probably find out eventually.

As the girl spoke to her again, she also seemed to find Alice's powers interesting. Not too long later another was pulled into conversation, one with powers dealing with water. This was turning out weirdly, and Thorn couldn't find the words to say, nor stop thinking about her book. Well, the book she found...

Hal smiled at the shy girl to encourage her. I remember her... I was trying to talk to her after the announcement... hmm?
To her surprise, the wet girl suddenly tossed water on Hal. "Hey!" Hal spluttered, almost missing the girl's introduction of herself. Hal vainly tried to pat the water out of her hair and off her stitches. Not that I think they'll get infected, but you never know...
Then she noticed that a puddle of water was creeping dangerously close to the book. Hal snatched it up with seconds to spare. "Phew..." she breathed, wiping off a few drops.
Farther down, the black-haired girl also relaxed. Hal blinked and noticed how her eyes seemed to follow the book. Is this hers? Yeah, it must be - she could've dropped it earlier when she was running away.
"Here's your book," Hal said, reaching out to hand it back to her. "Don't worry, it's undamaged."
