Karite came running into the scene the blurring colors of yellow and green around him seemed like a bad painting. He was a little sluggish with his new Jo in his hand, but it didn't slow him down to much. Shisei had left earlier maybe feeling jealous or just bored of the weapon craze he had fallen into, but when Karite arrived just to see Serena and Shisei going at it with some word game again he couldn't help but to smile. This was always funny to watch, no matter who you were. It was like a war of minds had been placed in a very small arena. Karite couldn't help but enjoy it. Hr figured he would would let the two love birds play their game.Karite remembered that before class today he was trying to finish his training but seemed to have been interrupted again as always. Now was the perfect time to finish his somersaults and them he could easily move onto to working with his Jo. would see how good he was with this Jo he just purchased. By his guess it wouldn't be to hard to learn. He was a quick study and he did know a little something about weapon use. Or so he hopped.
Karite put the Jo he had jest received against a dying bamboo tree that looked as if it had better days. Its trunk had withered and turned the color of his new found toy. Karite wondered what could do something to a tree so strong, but did not think to much on the thought. Beginning to shake out his limbs Karite looked at the short stretch of emptiness in front of him. He had been practicing on a longer stretch recently and had no clue what was about to happen on this one in front of him. It didn't matter though he would handle it as it presented itself. Digging his bare feet into the ground Karite began to move. His hair whipping all around his head and his earring giving the faintest jingle with every pass of his arm. As he felt he could get no faster Karite began to let his body's own moment push him forward into a roll. His hands connecting with the ground firmly and solid as he began to rotate letting the earth become upside down for all of a few seconds. As he pushed of his hands and landed back on his feet he squatted for a moment to make sure he was placed firm. "Another successful turn. My body seems to be in my control again." not knowing that blaming his body for things he had let slip was a weak gesture Karite felt fine with it.

Good. Hopefully that deterred her. As long as it could keep her puzzled until Shisei had gotten her name. That’s just if she was still questioning if ‘H’ was correct. Her breath did not push the answer anymore so that had to mean she would not think of it for a while. Now the pale boy just needed some luck just like hers. Six letters was all he needed. Her gray eyes were waiting for the snake child’s guess after letting a small sigh release from her lips. “Frustration maybe…” Shisei began to think. That could prove advantageous. If she became upset then her thought process would not be well enough to conceive a correct choice. All the serpent student had to do was keep pushing her.
“You don’t sound too confident. I hope you’re a better guesser than you are at spying on people.” his voice stated with another small hint of ridicule. His face remained as still as a carved doll, gold orbs unwavering as if the two had also entered a staring contest. The vibrant serpent lights did not turn away until they heard the sound of another. It was Karite stating something about his body. Interestingly the tan diva was not with him. Still the child lion handler did have something important to say. “I’ll be with you in a second Karite. Just have to wrap up unfinished business.” Shisei’s lips stated returning his gaze at the Raiken female. There could be a reasonable way to figure her name. First he had to start with vowels. The most common one had to be… “Does your name contain an ‘A’?” the snake child questioned.

"Hmph..don't get too cocky. It'll lead to your demise." Serena played her words carefully. Snake boy had seen that she was getting confused. She turned her eyes towards Karite. Snakey knew him..as did she. Hopefully Karite wouldn't say their names aloud. That would ruin their game. "So you know Karite, too?..interesting." They were probably in the same class..apparently the snake boy didn't know tha Karite knew her, or else he might've asked who she was. But knowing him he might just not ask because he wanted to ask her himself. 'A? Well isn't he just lucky...he got it right..there may be someway I can throw him off though..just maybe.' And idea was forming in her head, and as one came, she smiled. One word was all it might take. It just depends on how he would interpret the word. "Yes"

Karite smile still remained as wide as it always had been. He was very proud of himself these last few days. When Maya and Baki got back from war they would be proud of him to. If they ever got back from where they went. It seemed like forever since Maya had left the cubs in his care. He wished she would hurry home though. Karite was beginning to feel a searing pain in the back of his mind that something might have happened to her.
As Karite brought his mind back into focus he heard Shisei in the background. Karite did not say anything in return he didn't want to throw of the game the two were playing. Going back to his own game Karite lined up again for another pass at what seemed to be an increasingly easy exercise. Running forward Karite could feel the wind in his hair. he could hear it swirling inside his ears. With every step he could feel the cold condensation on the grass. Even the single blades between his toes. Yet in a matter of seconds. All the feelings were upside down. Everything reversed before returning to normal. Another successful run and Karite had managed to do it again. The spin of things was coming back to him.

His face didn’t reveal anything, but Shisei was becoming amused. Sparkle eyes could see this puzzle did not start off in her favor. Her eyes moved from his to the form of the time reaper. He was doing his own exercise at the time and did not reply. It might possibly be because the snake child was entangled in this situation with glitter eyes. That or perhaps because the tan farm girl had not appeared as yet. Where was she anyway? Waving the thought away Shisei resumed focus on the Raiken girl.
“Yes. I do know Karite. Seems you know him too. He’s not going to help you though, if that’s what you’re thinking.” as a fanged mouth said these words one amber orb peered in the bo wielder’s direction. His voice didn’t speak either of their names when appearing into the forest, so his brain must have gotten some type of idea of what was going on. “Heh, smart.” Shisei thought about green haired flipper. Returning attention to his rival, her voice spoke out with the word ‘yes’. The snake child arched his eyebrow slightly at this. She said it in an unexpected way. Like she still had the upper hand… it was only further validated with that small smirk. The boy’s mind faltered for a few seconds, but he would remain resolute in the answer.
Now it was his turn to try and shake this girl’s mental foundation. Referring back to what the older girl had said Shisei spoke with little mock tone in his voice. “Cocky? I’m just that good. It also seems that you’re the one who will be meeting their demise in this game. I’ll give you a hint though. So you can try and catch up. My name doesn’t have an ‘A’. Now you only have to figure out twenty four letters.” Only after he let the words slip from his mouth did he realize his action. He had to quickly amend it. “Or twenty five…”. His mind had already let pass that she was confused about another letter. Hopefully she would not catch on to that letter. Perhaps arrogance does have its faults.

"Heh, like I'd ask him for help..not that he's stupid or anything but just for the fact it would ruin our little game." Serena's smile remained the same as it had been throughout the little game so far. She waited for something to come out unexpectedly from the snake boy's mouth, something that would catch her eye..or ear. Whatever, just something that would help her out a little bit. Just a little would help her as much as possible. After all, she knew none of the letters in his name, and he knew one--A. But..Snakey really didn't seem to have been satisfied. Had she tricked him? Or was he tricking her? Maybe it was the same thing with her and the 'H'. The 'H'...she had almost forgotten about that, but the moment the letter came up, all the confusion came again, and that's when the little hint came along. 'Now you only have to figure out twenty four letters...or twenty five.' The Raiken's mouth rolled in and let out a loud 'pop' and the smile grew even sneakier. "Hmm..twenty five? That's gonna be tough..and I was just so sure that your name had an H in it. Well, since you've taken out a major vowel, you've given me no choice but to go with an I." The lightning girl had been lost in a mess of confusion, but suddenly cleared it up by believing that H would be a correct guess. Who knows, going with the flow may be just what she needs to win this game.

One gold orb twitched slightly at the revelation. Even if she did get a letter… it should have been ‘H’. How could she have guessed an ‘I’. The ivory child was beginning to wonder if his feminine adversary was somehow using the chain around her neck for answers. Or maybe she was clairvoyant? Could it possibly be Karite? “No. Those are stupid answers. Just calm down. There is logic behind it.” Shisei ordered himself within his mind. There was a simple explanation. The girl just chose a vowel and it simply was the right one. Nothing more. Nothing less. A difference was being created though. The scales of balance between the two youths were no shifting in favor of the Raiken.
There was still five more letters she had to guess. Or maybe four depending on what her brain interpreted of his last foul up. “I’ll go on the assumption that she knows ‘H’ is a correct letter. That means she only has four letters left. Now what could her name be? It’s too early to guess with only one letter. The ‘A’ could be at the beginning, middle or end of her name so it doesn’t help as yet. I should try another vowel.” little snake’s mind analyzed his next actions within a few seconds. He had to pull the lead again before sly smile took control. “Yes… my name does contain an ‘I’. Good. I didn’t want you to feel bad if you could not at least get one letter of my name before I got all of yours. Since we’re still on vowels I’ll guess that your name contains an ‘E’.”. Once the young serpent could regain his lead then he could continue to bamboozle her mind and lead her onto false letters. It would have to be done quickly before the sly smile and shinning gray orbs could try and dupe him.

Karite was proud of himself so far. He was starting to get use to this new life. his life was going good, no more boring classes about dead leaders or stupid math equations. Now he could do as he pleased when ever he wished. He would like to fight Shisei. It would be a good challenge and maybe prove to him as well that Karite was just as serious as he was. It would be a good fight if Orika showed up but if she didn't it would not matter.
Karite loosened up his body a little before before he ran off this time. Jumping up and down slightly to make sure his knees wouldn't lock up he wiggled his entire body. As he ran once again the feeling of freedom flooded his body. He knew it now as freedom anyway. It was as if he was flying. It was nothing special it was just running. It wasn't any different except it was something Karite wanted to do so it meant so much more. For someone on this island it was a normal thing, but for a caged animal like Karite it was a whole new experience. It was something he could feel and appreciate like to one else could.
Karite let the feeling pass over him and concentrated on his task at hand. Rotating his body and managed to control himself enough to come back up, but with so much force it quickly overtook him and slung him back as if he were hit with Hamma-sans hammer. Looking up at the sky Karite just coughed. Indulging in his moment of bliss cost him a little. He would have to fix that.

'E..and E. Of all the letters in the alphabet his second letter choice just had to be an E.' It made Serena a little pouty on the inside that the snake boy had chosen the letter that made their scores uneven again. He knew three letters of her name now and she knew only two. Just when she was about to get an upper hand in the game. The gray eyes showed no sign of disapproval, though. They just sparkled as they always have--as if they were trying to look into the mind of the boy. 'Well, one thing, he doesn't know my name has TWO E's in it...that may throw him off.' She let out a little hum and then looked at the golden eyes again. "An 'E'. That doesn't seem right...are you sure about 'E'?" The words came out slowly and clearly, and most obviously mocking back at Shisei's first try at confusing her. Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't, but Serena didn't want to think about how he would interpret this..it would just confuse her so much more. She could tell that 'I' was correct though, hopefully it would be correct. That would mean she had an 'H' and an 'I' to play with until more letters came up. The Raiken would still have to be careful about which letters were correct and which were false. He may throw her off again, or one of the letters she had could be wrong.

Shisei let out a tiny hissing-sigh of annoyance. The nerve of her. To try and use his words against him. What a sneak! It should be expected though. People always did try and the best. Unfortunately for the snake child, sparkles did a great carbon copy of Shisei’s elusiveness. The unfaltering stare of shimmering gray to make it seem she was telling the truth. A slightly sarcastic tone albeit sounding friendlier than the snake boy’s voice. And a fox like grin that had not really fallen off her face since this challenge began. Ohh how pleasurable it would be to wipe that smug look off. It remained on to confuse him similar to how Shisei’s statuette face always showed nothing so no one could gain anything from it. An awkward pair of one who always smiled and the other who never smiled. Yet both of their emotions were similar at the moment. To gain the upper hand.
Her tone did not make it any easier to guess if ‘E’ was right or wrong. The Orochi born still believe the girl was ditzy. Yet he also knew she was cunning. This made it hard to discern whether she was feigning from the truth or actually was stating that there was no ‘E’ in her name. Worst of all little serpent was beginning to get a growing migraine trying to figure the mysterious teen’s mental capacity. For now he would leave the letter ‘E’ alone. In the end it wouldn’t matter though. She was just an annoyance. She couldn’t prove to be that much in the end.
It was her turn to guess which meant that the snake child maybe in a disadvantage if she got another letter. Technically smiling sparkle eyes was much closer than she thought to figure out his name. There were two I’s and S’s in his name which meant if she was closer than she thought. It also proved as an advantage though. How many would guess in such a short name that two letters would be repeated. He just had to make sure she did not figure out that truth. That would be Shisei’s ace in hole. Returning from his mind. The boy began to speak to throw off and perhaps make his foe lose her cool. “Ok. I think I’ll believe there is no ‘E’. For now… besides I don’t think you’re that good to really trick me. No offense, but make-up is probably more your forte.” Shisei stated with as much offense as he could. This girl was different from the wild boy, Tanu. He would have exploded long before. The person before him though was able to keep her cool… for now. The serpent boy continued. “It is your turn to guess now. You have an ‘I’. Would you like to try another vowel? How about an ‘O’ or ‘U’. Maybe a consonant. Like ‘V’ or ‘C’. Those might not be wrong.”. Giving her a reminder of all the letters she had to come up with maybe just the thing to shake her.

Breathing heavy Karite could see his breaths floating away from him as if he was losing his own life with the passing time. This was odd, he was lying on his back but instead of being upset he was very calm and happy about it. Getting up from the cold ground Karite squeezed his fingers together to try and feel his know frozen extremities. It was getting rather cold now and the sun was no longer out. He would have to get Kore soon and return to the grounds. Without the warmth of the sun it would be hard to stand the cold.
Running forward Karite was sure this time he would land perfectly. Picking up speed he was aware he was reaching a speed that may have been to fast so cutting it off there he spun silently and quickly on the ground coming up flicking his hair against his back. "Another day of hard work. My friend, I must be on my way. I have a cub to feed. I will be hunting you down one of these nights for a good fight. So be prepared." Grabbing his newly acquired Jo. Karite acknowledged Serena as well. "To you beautiful young lady I wish you luck against the mind of a snake."

"Oh not at all, no offense taken. I do think that I have talent when it comes to makeup. If you need any help, just come to me. I'm absolutely sure I can find something that would go with those viper eyes and pale skin of yours. You know, make you seem a little more cheery to be around." The Raiken smiled smugly at him. Hopefully, her annoyance and comebacks would be as effective to snake boy's as his was to her. Her turn to guess a letter. The gray gleam in her eyes looked into the golden glow of his as if she were looking for some hint of weakness. As always, he showed nothing but seriousness. It annoyed her so much. Why did he have to look like he was mad or something all the time? Either it was cause they always met with mind games or he just wasn't a happy person. The second one seemed right. Never happy. But it was kind of funny if she imagined him like a clown. Purple hair, golden eyes, snake look, pale face, darkened skin under his eyes. Just add a red nose and a big red mouth and he might fit right into a circus. To this thought, Serena couldn't help but smile a true smile for a second. It was so easy to imagine, but definitely impossible for this guy--so serious looking, so snake like. Plus, who looked like a snake anyways? Now that she looked at it, he always reminded her of a snake. Maybe because of the eyes. "Pftt..hahaha-okay..it's my turn now, right?" The smile only became natural for a second to giggle about, but it returned as she focused on finding a letter. As if she never laughed at anything in the first place. "Weell...thanks for the suggestions, but I think I'll go with another letter..like..'E'" Back to smacktalk. Serena had given thought to the other letters after she pronounced E as her chosen letter. 'O', 'U', 'V', 'C'. They didn't seem right with her 'H' or 'I'. It actually sounded like the snake boy was throwing her off, or was he just meaning that there was actually a letter in there in his name? It sounded like something the young Raiken would do herself..trick the other into thinking she wouldn't name a letter in her name, but do so so that they would not chose that letter. It was all to confusing for her, but she had to pull it through. Serena just had to guess his name before he did hers. Maybe she could even get which clan he was from while she was at it, too.

With the utter of one letter the winds of change favored the beaming Raiken. This was not a position that Shisei wanted to be in. “You are correct…” his voice uttered while trying to think of his next course of action. Regardless if it was aptitude, women’s intuition or just plain luck, the raven haired girl gained the upper hand. She could not stay there for long though. If she did the gap would become evident. “She knows two letters… no possibly three. With that knowledge she might start trying to guess at my name. I can’t let that happen. I have to throw her off.”
Shisei kept thinking about this while staring into those scheming onyx eyes. And that haughty grin. Why was she always smiling? To just always throw people off? For a girl, sparkles definitely had a good poker face. The serpent youth began to see a connection between the female teens he had seen so far. They never seemed to be in an unpleasant mood. Not his so called new sister, Aya. Not the hopping farmer girl, Orika. Not this one in front of him. There must have been some type of chemical in the air that kept them jolly. Just what was ticking through their brains that made them all so jolly? The boy kept staring at glitter eyes face as if it would give an answer.
It did give one. A terse giggle. She was laughing at him now! Before fanged jaws could lash out Shisei did notice a small change in that grin. He could not put his finger on it, but for an instant it changed. Into what, the boy was not sure. As long as it didn’t pose a threat he disregarded it. The main task was to get her mind onto something else. If mocking her was not working, perhaps that might make her slip up. There had to be something that would get the female mind bender into breaking her brain scramble. The boy’s eyes started from the bottom of the female and began to work up. Nothing interesting about her feet. Navy blue carpis weren’t anything special. Pink shirt… so typical female…. Black jacket was not special. The lightning chain. Yes. That could work.
“That is an interesting chain around your neck. What does it mean to you?” his voice questioned. Hopefully that could deter her train of thought. Now it was time to guess a letter. Just what could Shisei use though? He only knew one letter. An ‘A’. There was no way in guessing her name as yet. ‘E’ might possibly be wrong. So what was next? The snake child was not sure what to try next. With so many letters at his disposal he decided to take a shot in the dark. He’d try a letter from his name. “Ohh and does your name contain an ‘S’?” his voice spoke confidently. Hopefully this shot in the dark will illuminate the mystery of her name.

Serena grinned, showing her white teeth for a second in satisfaction that she had gotten another on of this letters. there were only three more she had to guess, then. She switched her body postition slightly and then she silentely waited for the expected mocking the snake boy would say, but somehow, it never really came. His seriousness didn't show what he was thinking..or if he was thinking at all. The Raiken was getting more excited about the game, as she had the upper hand with three letters to his name while he had one..or two considering that she had two 'A's to her name. And what was he doing now? The snake eyes seemed to be examining her inch by inch, as if it were trying to find something physical to criticize. She watched the golden eyes as they made their way from the bottom to the top. They stopped at her neck..and then the eyes questioned the Raiken's lightning necklace as the snake boy translated them into words. She was a little surprised that there was no mocking in his words, but interest. She clutched the lightning necklace and looked at it. The smug smile had disappeared and turned into a soft, caring smile. "This necklace means everything to me. It holds precious memories with ones I love, who are so far away. I don't even know if they're still alive right now. But that's another story. As for your 'S', I'll have to say that is a rather good guess." The mention of the necklace had brought back sweet memories of the Raiken's childhood with her parents. They had come with her to Shimagakure, but then left to go back to the village from which they had come. Serena was all alone to learn the skills she needed to learn to become a good shinobi. The one thing they had left with her was that necklace, to know that they would always be with her. But just because he had softened up her game face, it didn't mean she would quit there and then. There was still a matter of Shisei knowing if she had said a yes or a no.

A good guess. A good guess did not necessitate right or wrong. Her answers were elusive as an endangered animal. The ever growing smirk was proof of this. Shisei had to keep her attention divided. Sly smile’s brain was still more focused on the game, but her mood was changing. The smugness of the smile faded into something else. It changed once she started speaking of the ‘one she love’. That just maybe the key. Maybe if her mind stayed focused on this topic then she would lose focus on the game. The fanged boy’s brain did stay centered into the challenge. So centered that he did not even realize that Karite had left. He did hear something about Karite and a fight. It was a surprise, but something Shisei would have to contemplate on.
It had to work. The serpent youth would need it to. She had half the letters of his name. More than half technically… The snake born had to return in the lead. So he had to keep on this conversation with her. Although his interest was slightly moved by her answer. His mind could probably guess her precious people were her family and friends, but maybe she would give a surprising answer. That it was a slight wonder of where this crafty girl came from. He could toss out a few questions that may keep her on the wrong path to his name.
The serpent youth would have to be crafty also. “It is your turn to guess. What letter would you care to try?” his voice stated first. At the back of his dread head, the boy’s mind still had to think if ‘S’ was correct. She did not say no, but she did not say yes. His lips opened again to give a few questions to curve her thinking. “Precious memories? What type of memories? Are those memories with your family? And why are you not sure they are still alive? Don’t you write to them.” his voice questioned. He only hoped that the multiple questions would distract her until he took the lead.
What’s My Name? All it takes is a name, but who can guess it first? See if you can guess a partner’s name. Be careful. They just might lie and throw you off. 1d20 + Lie= 17 DC: Friend's Sense Roll Special: If the Sense roll is greater than friend's lie roll they'll have to agree to the correct answer. Train: 1/6
