My Suggestion:

Maybe UnderGaia should have another Guild Mule account but totally completely different from the one we have now. It should keep records of events, the storyline, maps...as if it was a Librarian. 3nodding Yes, I know we have an Archive Subforum, but, wouldn't it be just snazzy if we had a Drow/Dark Elf Librarian? ninja

This is an interesting idea Alexial. The only issue I think, is that the current UnderGaia mule sees little animation herself.

Perhaps a regular member could volunteer to be tasked as an UnderGaia historian? Are there any secretarially minded super geeks out there who believe that if there is a god, he uses Excell to run the universe (besides Drae lol)?

I would say though, right now faction leaders already perform the function of keeping track of maps and history of their own factions, at the very least.

Maybe an active member can be a Historian. And, yes, I am sure each leader has their own records, but, I just thought it'd be nice if we had a Historian. Keeping records of everything and everyone.

I brought this suggestion up to Quen about a week ago or maybe last week.

A lot of the new members seem to be a little confused on what to do when they enter the guild.

I've helped at least 3-5 members in the guild so far. This includes trying to give them research links or drow culture in a nut shell.

So I suggest on maybe making a quick tutorial for the newbies in the Main Forum and title it BEGINNER'S TUTORIAL or something of that matter. Something that'll get their attention. And first things first, they'll need to know drow culture in a nutshell. Maybe adding a few reference links. Then a link to direct them to the profile forum and show them the stickies with the profile skeletons. Then give them a basic gist of the guild rp and then a place to start off to better understand the role play. Be it the outskirts of Au'shinduago or one of the districts in Ulorbbath.

I think this will really help them. If you want, I'd be more then willing to set one up but I would like permission from you guys first.

That's what the Q&A is for. It's much easier since we can answer questions specifically and not just blanket everything under one topic. There is also an FAQ. So far I have been seeing few people taking advantage of this, and it's in pretty plain bold letters that they are required reading.

Maybe we could have some sort of buddy system for new members that might need help with things like thier character profile. It can be a bit daunting learning your way around if you're not familiar with the background of the UnderGaia. If someone seems to be struggling, ( and it might be enough to make an excited new member decide to leave ) perhaps a selected guild member can jump in and actually show them around.

Another suggestion I have that might be put to use is to make a Matron's Handbook. Just give them all of the basic guidelines and such. Give them a list of duties they should be doing in character to avoid lack of activity in House threads. I haven't seen this in awhile since the fall of Rilynviir and among others. And I know if you don't know anything about being a drow matron then you shouldn't be one. But what I've noticed that Matrons just kinda sit around and wait for someone to come by looking for a job and they'll role play with them for awhile and when they depart, the thread is left inactive. Another thing for newbie matrons is a outline how to design your House. Kinda like a profile skeleton but its broken up into separate posts.

I dunno. I was just thinking.

Umm...I've looked through the achieves and saw that their were district in the Ulrobbath. I understand the reason why they are there, etc, etc. But can we have aleast one other place to interact then the Crystal Corridor.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 04, 2010 4:51 pm

I have been the sole person (other than my own daughters) who has put any effort into the past districts of my city. I've asked the other matron's involvement in the planning, as it is their city too, but none have been helping.

Except for a possible name...that was it..

They were moved because I am re-doing how Ulorbbath is set up, but it's difficult when you are the only person working on it, especially when there are things going on irl too.

So the other districts will be set up as soon as possible. I am sorry for the inconvienence.
