"Well my little friend, I intend to sail tonight, after I've had my dinner! And before we set sail I'm going to announce where we are headed off too, and who will be the navigator when I'm busy." She gave a quick wink to Avery so he knew that she still meant what she said. She was a woman of her word.

"It does smell rather good." Lexi said warming up to being on the ship. "And the best part is, I can eat it slowly. And not have to rush out." She said scratching the back of her head.

Avery went to the kitchen to see if he could seek out some bread to dip in his soup. It was one of his favorite things to do with his mother. When Avery found a loaf, he split it in half and brought it back, placing one half on his plate and the other on an extra plate he had set out for his mother. He fiddled with his eyepatch and scowled. It was so damn itchy. "Would anyone mind...if... if I...took off my eyepatch? It's getting awfully annoying..."

Angie just laughed some more as the cook gave everyone a bowl and she said to the cook, "You eat with us! You cooked it, you shouldn't feel shunned from joining us! Come on, sit and enjoy your lovely meal."

Avery sighed in relief as he pushed the eyepatch onto his head, and scratch his closed eye. When he opened it, it took a while for his eye to adjust to seeing something other than the darkness of the eyepatch. The pupil dialated when he finally got used to the light.

not all shadows are cast by light...
"ah angie... come on" Gabriel said "why do you have to do that, I can teach her the ways of the sword good enough, you know who has taught me... so you know how good I can be. and if she wants to help me with stealth, I'm fine with that. and then you get more rest." he tried
...some are cast by darkness.

Avery stared down at his bowl of soup, dipping a peice of the bread into it's warm liquid. "Um... well... I.... My father... he didn't really like me all that much. He got angry with me. He was one of the people who designed ships and carved the wood for it... so he had alot of...tools." Avery began biting into the soaken bread. "So...that day, I wanted to watch, you know? He told me that I couldn't and I begged and pleaded with him. He got pissed off and threw a carving knife at my head. But it's no biggy-- I can still see out of this eye." he said, forcing a grin.
