Women, Ian decided, were a complete bafflement. He didn't understand half the things she said. Did she mean that when she had finally accepted the truth it made her feel wonderful, such like the feeling it had given him?

"Which truth?" Ian pressed, there were so many truths to be discovered.

Emerwyn turned to face him, and laughed again.
"Why, the simple fact that I love you. And, now I find that my joy grows more and more each time I say it."

She walked over to him and took both of his hands in hers.
"I love you, Ian."

Ian was, to say the least, stunned.

"M-m-me?" he managed. While he had admitted to himself that he loved her, he was not at all prepared for her saying she loved him.

But it did make his heart soar when she held his hands. Now would have been an appropriate time to kiss ehr had Ian not still been so stunned by her simple statement so he stood there staring at her with his mouth agape.

Now she knelt slowly by his side.
"You know that I love you."

And, she instead took the initiative for him. She'd never been this forward before. It felt good.
She took his face in her hand and leaned in slowly, making it last.

If Ian had had any doubts about her love, it was now gone as he moved from his chair and wrapped his arms around her. The salad was forgotten, as was his stomach. Nothing was as important as the fact that Emerwyn loved him.

He pulled away long enough to whisper in her ear. "I love you too."

"Let's go back inside," she whispered back. Emerwyn pulled back slowly, and rose to her feet.

And with her, Ian rose. Holding her hand, he led her inside. This was contentment.

Once inside he looked at her, wondering what she would do next.

Emerwyn walked with the King, his Lady by his side. This was bliss.

However, once she got inside, she wandered away, wondering what he would do next.
Honestly, she did not know what she wanted to do.

Ian could tell she wasn't sure what to do next, so he turned and wrapped his arms around her again.

And he kissed her once more.

He was the King, and she, his Lady.

"It's time for bed."

She took his hand now, and led him to the bed.
Her heart raced when she went under the sheets. What did she expect?
She was lying in bed with a man whom she loved. Perhaps it was all very clear what she expected.
His body was so warm next to hers. She didn't realize how cold she was.
She lay, their arms enfolded around each other.
And, just as they were, they fell asleep.

And, once more, new dreams were born.

A Run-in with Bobby

Bobby:
Bobby felt better after seeing Colche working so hard on her Mother's Day gift for Aubrey. Her step was a little lighter -despite her waying so much- and she hummed to herself, eating an artichoke as if it were a pear.

The pig walked down the main 'road' of the Village, taking in the sights and smells.

Emerwyn:
Emerwyn was still in a state of complete bliss, and her deer-step sprung wherever she walked. She very nearly left her duplex door wide open, and found when she turned to close it, she didn't care either way. She was the woman in love, and it felt so right to finally be able to confess it to the world. She was in love!

She was just trotting off to get something to eat, when she quite literally bumped headfirst into someone it was very difficult to miss.

Bobby:
Bobby saw the woman... who was turning into a deer?... approach but truly thought that she would stop. So, when the other Islander collided with her, all the pig could do was stare humorously. It would have taken a lot more than a slim woman to take her down now.

Right before the two of them had found themselves very close together, Bobby had seen the look on the deer woman's face. It was one she had known all too well in her younger years. "Well hello there!"

Emerwyn:
Emerwyn gasped deeply and flung backwards a bit when she made contact. "Oh!!!"

Straightening herself, Emerwyn couldn't help but start laughing.
"I am s-so sorry. Please." Emerwyn took a breath. "You must forgive me."
"I find I am not completely myself today. I am Emerwyn."
She held out an awkwardly hoofed hand.

Bobby:
Bobby took the offered hoof without hesitation and firmly, though kindly, greeted the deer. "It's not a problem. I'm Bobby."

The woman smiled brightly, with almost an impish expression, "So, who's the lucky fellow?"

Emerwyn:
Emerwyn's face flushed, as much as it was now possible to. So, she could tell?

"His name is Ian." She revelled in saying his name, and held back on the desire to repeat it over and over again.

Bobby:
Bobby's face lit up even more. Oh him! He was turning into a deer too, how perfect for them. People deserved a little bit of happiness, at least, on this Island... even if it was a different form of life.

"Oh, Ian?" Bobby giggled, remember how shy he had seemed to her. "I had no idea anyone had caught his fancy. What a nice young man. Congratulations, I believe are in order."

Emerwyn:
Bobby was so full of mirth. And speaking to her felt like sharing secrets with a close aunt. These were rare meetings, and Emerwyn cherished it.

Caught his fancy. How sweet. Emerwyn positively glowed. "Why, my thanks to you," she said, bowing her head slightly. "It is a truly strange sensation, to find something so good in a world as dark as this."

Bobby:
Bobby paused, considering Emerwyn's words. Maybe there was something in the deer serums that made them so 'philosophical'? The pig had gotten the same impression from Ian. These two were made for eachother. Possibly in more ways then one... the thought almost made Bobby flinch.

Nodding, the woman couldn't help but agree, "Fear is a dangerous thing. But I have to admit, what you said makes sense. Though, everyone I have met have been everything and kind to me." Bobby smiled, "So, has he proposed?" The woman winked.... she would rather talk about happier subjects anyways.

Emerwyn:
"P-proposed?" Emerwyn stammered, her eyes wide and her face flushing even deeper than before.
"N-no, I wouldn't - I mean, we haven't...
Well, who on this Island could even perform a marriage?"

Even though it seemed the woman was kidding around, Emerwyn was completely taken aback. And she did not like stammering or losing her own words. Her words were her power, and she felt very exposed without them.

Bobby:
Bobby couldn't help but feel sorry for the sputtering woman. She knew how that felt too... at a loss for words due to the one you love. It was somewhat romantic if you thought about it. But, Bobby Reynolds was never of the romantic types. Maybe she was cruel, or just joking; maybe even genuinely hoping for something to lighten the mood on the Island. And what better than a wedding of two of the inhabitant? Nevertheless, the pig continued.

"Come now," Bobby patted the woman on the back sympathetically. "This place is beyond all governmental controls. As long as you love someone enough you can have a wedding. We could really have anyone preside over it. It might be a nice event to try and get people's minds off things."

Emerwyn:
Even though Emerwyn could not yet imagine being wedded to Ian, especially since she had not known him long at all, at least compared to Jerrick. She'd known Jerrick for years.
And yet, something in Emerwyn was excited about the idea.
All of these feelings flew across her face. Despite the fact that it was far less mobile than it had been, Emerwyn's expressions were even more readible.
Still not sure whether or not Bobby was serious, Emerwyn smiled at her. "Maybe you're right."

Bobby:
Bobby laughed and winked, "Well, I've seen a lot in my day." At seeing all the emotions, the woman tried to console Emerwyn to the best to her ability. "You know, it generally isn't the time spent with someone that ditates these things. I had known my husband for awhile before marrying, but we didn't have any hard time... intil I got pregnant when we were still dating, though. The experiences you would have with Ian on this Island and what happened because of them, would count for years out in the real world. Horrible situations can bring out one of two things in people: the best or the worst. I've seen both"

Emerwyn:
This made Emerwyn even more glad than before. Even if she was a little ashamed that her heart was worn not only on her sleeve, but on a large sign hanging above her head.
Her eyes glistened and she took Bobby's hands in her own.
"My thanks to you. Your words bring such joy to my heart."

Bobby:
Bobby held to Emerwyn's hands and her smile grew, though there was a touch of sadness in her eyes, "Good, you shouldn't be sad all the time just because your life has changed. Everyone deserves joy."

Of course, when she said that, she was about to add that there was one person she knew that didn't... but that was her own personal bias speaking.

Emerwyn:
Emerwyn saw Bobby's eyes, but did not press any question. Was Bobby still trying to learn this for herself? In Emerwyn's dark times, she found that she gave much good advice to her friends, and kept none for herself.

She nodded in agreement with the sentiment, but found for once that she did not need to say anymore. Words now cluttered the situation.

Bobby:
Now she felt bad. Bobby thought that it was because of her that Emerwyn was getting quiet. She should probably head out to the jungle or a picnic before the mood became too depressing... or she did something she may later regret.

Leaning forward, the woman planted a friendly kiss on Emerwyn's cheek. "You take care now, Emerwyn, and give Ian my love as well," Bobby winked, as if saying they had a secret now and it was between the two of them.

With that done, the woman walked off to find a good picnic area. She turned a ways out and waved to the deer woman, smiling, "See ya!"

Emerwyn:
Emerwyn smiled deeply at Bobby. If it wasn't enough for Emerwyn to feel the way she did today, she only found another to boost the effect.

Emerwyn winked back. "That I shall."

Her hoof was in the air, waving a farewell, and Emerwyn turned back along her path.
