I first played clarinet. But i couldn't play the high notes, and was jealous of the attention in the front row that the flutes got. So I became a flutist. Have been ever since.

I was lucky to have my mother teach me because she was a musician herself when she was in school. So..here's the order of instruments in which I learned over the past 20something years of my life. 1. Clarinet - 2nd grade 2. Recorder - 3rd grade (it was a music class requirment) 3. Tenor Sax - 7th grade 4. Alto Sax - 8th grade 5. Bari Sax - 10th grade
I played the clarinet all throughout my school years from learning it in 2nd grade to playing in concert band in 4th-11th, orchestra 10th-12th, and marching band 7th-11th. I really never stuck with the tenor or alto sax... but found my love with the bari sax in jazz band (10th-12th) and my senior year of concert band and marching band. heart

I really don't think I've posted here yet, but I'm not sure...
Anyways, the first instrument I played was the alto sax. I wanted to play alto or horn and an opportunity to try out alto came along first. Later, in the music store somewhere, I played my first note on horn. Since then, I've also picked up flute, mellophone, and recently trumpet. I guess I wasn't really counting piano in there...I played that long before alto. I still do.

Technically, the first instrument I played was recorder. Then I started playing Flute, and haven't switched since. I have taught myself some piano, and I can at least get a sound out of a Trumpet and a French Horn.

************************ I started playing Piano, and had private lessons for the LONGEST time, and was really good, and after we moved we had to sell my keyboard. Now I play guitar.

My first instrument was the recorder back in elementary (it was required). Then in 5th, I started out on flute. In 7th I started piccolo. In 8th I learned a little bit of percussion. Now I'm learning the trombone for Jazz band, but I still play all the other instruments listed (minus the recorder).
My heart belongs only to my piccolo though! heart

I'm a sophomore in high school and this is a list of what I've played and how long, but I'm not going to count recorder..
6th Grade - Clarinet Was awesome at it, but wanted to play louder
7th - 9th Grade - Bass Clarinet Eh, it worked for me. Wasn't bad, but I still wanted more.
10th Grade - Bari Sax I switched over when Marching band needed a bari and I'm pretty happy with it right now. I love the way it sounds, I play it for class and Marching band, I can really do well on it xP

I started piano when I was 8, and I started clarinet the summer before 5th grade. I quit clarinet at the end of 6th, but I still play the piano! ^^
