I will have to look into that, I have lost all 3 battles I have had against Necros, of course I play Catachan Devils, so that may be it. My Tanith Ghosts are finished though and they slaughter Terminators, so I may need to try them against Necros. Also My Cadian's Are almost finished, I am dieing to try out my 3 baskilsk tactic.

Oh BTW I play:
Chaos Space Marines
Eldar
Dark Eldar
Imperial Guard:
Cadians
Catachan
Gaunt's Ghosts

I play Death Guard.
Check out the Model Gallery in the painting subforum. It's worth the trip.

Statistically speaking Imperial Gaurd, are the easiest to use. They win 74% of the time. They are great against 'Nids, and Eldar/Dark Eldar, they get crushed by Necrons, and the battle against Space Marines, and Chaos can be a pain. that is what I have found anyway. As far as Starting thouh, I started with Dark Eldar, and I love playing them I just lose 5 out of every 6 battles, they are very hard to use if you have only an average grasp of tactics, and impossible if you suck at tactics. But they are a good army to learn with, I think anyway! smile

Actually, the best i ever did against necrons was when i was using Imperial guard. I was using a Leman Russ with battle cannon, lascannon, heavy bolter sponsons, three Armageddon pattern sentinels and my infantry platoons all had heavy weapons. The heavy weapons guarantee that when you hit a necron, its out, it doesn't get "We'll Be Back", so i did excellent.

Um, he had a lord with Resurrection Orb and Veil of Darkness, two 12 man warrior squads, about 8 flayed ones, 3 heavy destroyers, and 3 normal destroyers, i believe.

Only standard infantrywise. Vehicles are plastic or resin, if you get Forge World parts...
And conversions can of course be plastic.

Ah, right...sorry I should have taken detail into account. Yes, infantry wise everything by the codex is pewter, for the vehicles and forge world parts I am not aware of what is plastic and what is not.

Eh, what? I may have understood what you just said wrong, but many of the GamesWorkshop models are also pewter as said before..?

Mass produced GW - Plastic sprue.
Blisters made by GW - Pewter. (Some are matt and some are glossy. Any idea as to why?)
Specific to order FW - Resin injection into a mould.
