Nukta's eyes narrowed, suddenly feeling weariness tugging on his patience. Sometimes he really wished Adanna was more aware of things in the area of these such emotions. Her oblivious state of mind about these things had made things akward for him twice now, even though, in the end, he wouldn't change it about her even if he was granted such an opprotune wish. He'd always known in the back of his mind, she deserved better than a coward.

"Right." He muttered under his breath. Why had he suggested coming to this place first anyway? Maybe they could've just as easily found lions to join them on their own...

Well, Nukta knew THAT wasn't true. Neither of them were of leadership quality and he couldn't even properly lead them around, let alone a whole pride. This had seemed like such a bright idea at the time...

He ignored the rest of Ezeoha's taunts and baits. He'd play along with the little runt's game as long as it meant Adanna was safe in the end, and had a chance to be happy again. He knew he couldn't replace what she'd lost, and he alone couldn't make up for the quiet that all of her brothers had left behind. Only a family could do that, and only a family built around a support system was strong enough to pick up those that had fallen. A pride.

Ezeoha did not like the long name. The cub stared at her, brooding over a name that would be a whole lot simpler. "Can I call you Chi? You can call me Eze if you like. It's just that your name's long and I think Chi is kind of cute." He actually seemed worried about displeasing the other cub and losing all chances of snuggling up with her.

The little cub squeaked with surprise as Chinara prodded his necklace, but almost immediately the attention was welcome, and he felt his chest swell with pride at wearing such a fine necklace. "My mother and father gave it to me. D'you like it?"

Something very distinct reached his ears, and the cub gave a strangled cry. "Please stay! I like having you two around..." Perhaps the cub side of him was showing up at the other's threat of leaving. He wanted them to stay. He wanted new playmates and a few new females to try his advances on. "I'll take you to grandma and grandpa and beg them to let you stay! I promise! Don't go!"

He just realized how desperate he sounded.

"But, if you want to go... that's fine. I'm sure some other rouges will come and hang out with me..."

Nukta just frowned up his face a bit at Adanna's scolding. This was part of the reason he got frustrated, she didn't understand his feelings. It never seemed to occur to him that it would help if he TOLD her in detail what they were, though. Things always ended up pent up inside until something gave way, with him. He was a passionate and stubborn idiot like that.

He gave his head and his ear a shake, reminded of her words from before. Yeah, home was wherever he was, and vice versa. That's why he'd put up with whatever muck he had to here to give this place a try, for Ada. Sure, he was happy to have a potential home too, but could he ever be happy anywhere that there were other male lions around, making moves on his best friend? They weren't going to get away from it that easily and he couldn't keep them moving everytime they ran into one. He'd just have to accept the fact and either deal with it if she did allow herself to be courted by another, or get over it and tell her how he felt. But... too much. It was all too much to mull over right now. Right now they needed to meet the rules of the pride and find out if they were even WELCOMED here or not.

That's when Eze's outburst finally caught up with Nukta's ears. He never really claimed to understand children any better than Adanna after all. The pridelander youth's outburst took him by surprise.

He raised an eyebrow, but by that point Eze was already correcting his tone, and Nukta looked away from them all again with a sigh and a shrug.

"Might as well try. We came all this way, right?"

"Good, because I like Chi, too."

A wide grin broke out across his face that showed that there was a second meaning behind that statement. He was having a great time trying to woo her, and could not imagine why adult lions did not do this. The life of flirting was certainly fun, especially when the one you flirted with was cute. "I do want you to stay. We can ask your parents later, after grandma and grandpa allow you to stay." He nudged her impatiently, trying to rally everyone up to head ovre to Pride Rock. He was rather determined to have every single one of them accepted, mainly because flirting with Chi and Ada in the future sounded like a very nice plan.

"C'mon!" He ran forward a bit towards Pride Rock, turned impatiently towards them, and thrusted his head to the right a little, trying to urge them all on. "I'm with you and that's a near guarantee of getting accepted! I will not have you not accepted, my beauties and the rougish prince." Perhaps he was merely complimenting Nukta to get on his good side. He was sure that if Nukta did not want to come, then Adanna wouldn't, and he really would like some more flirtation opportunities with her.

The sun was shining a little too brightly, but this hardly brought down the orange blur that was Chinara! Oooh no, she was having too much fun to be affected by anything at all.

The cub was currently darting along with a blue-green dragonfly, which constantly changed it's direction to get rid of this pesky feline. But no luck, as Chinara made a sharp left, towards the rocky formation.

Finally, she felt rather dizzy from constantly running around, and flopped onto the ground, the world spinning in her eyes. Everything was shifting and vibrating.. it made her head hurt! She wailed loudly, before flopping her paws onto her head, covering it from the bright sun.

(I asked Bluefire what she thought.. o3o;; Erm.. want me to just delete my post and leave it as is? 8D; )

((omg, I totally forgot about there being posts here... sorry I was gone for so long. I'll have to prod everyone to catch up. And I'd prefer it to stay the same day. The lions are coming to meet the group, right? And yes, DDB. Its the time when Sarabi & Bahkti's cubs are adolescents, or the present time. Whatever x3 ))



Sarabi smiled at little Rehema, bending to regard the little one with kind eyes. "Hello, dear. Having fun today?" A faint sound caught her soft, round ears, and the sleek head rose to turn in that direction. When it didn't come again, she dismissed it from her mind, choosing instead to turn her eyes to the cubs and lions around her. Her Pride, her family... even if not by blood, wasn't a Pride a family of sorts?

Weariness an old companion, the Queen sank down onto her stomach, relaxing on the rock as she watched the comings and goings. Her tail with is tuft of bown hair flicked from side to side, sweeping the ground and raising little puffs of dust.
