I quite like Kaelyn's idea. We could wear clothes that are a different house's color and post in that house color too. This would work especially well is there is going to be some sort of common area (thread) that everyone is posting/RPing in. [The house elves would
I also like Sam's idea.
If it is moving along fast enough, you could have multiple rounds, each with a different topic. For example, the houses and founders, the teachers, students, magical creatures, etc. [I know this doesn't completely fit the HOUSE spirit week thing, but I think it would be fun and also might make it easier to come up with a load of questions.] Each round a certain number of questions could be asked. If you wish for it to be more of a competition, with a winner, after each round the team with the lowest number of correct answers could be eliminated. [If the questions are being answered very slowly, my ideas won't work because it would simply take too long. But Sam's original idea might still work. Not sure though.]
I'll have to have a think and see if I can come up with something for House spirit week.

Okay, I was thinking of a decathlon, or what ever those things are called where they ask you questions.
Except about the founders and houses.
So they'd be a team of 5 or 4 members answering questions about the founders or houses, like "What was Salazar's favorite color?"
It would be a way for all the members to learn about the other houses.
Of course, there doesn't have to be teams either.
I agree with Lyra (I like both ideas)
First I love Sam's idea because it involves competition between the Houses. Like she said, maybe this could be a tournament of sorts ask questions about the Hogwarts founders (and maybe even our Headmaster!)
The teams will have to be chosen in advance though since they represent their House (and it won't be everyone, although the other members can root for them).
So besides a few prizes for the grand prize winners we can also give out house points (we used to do that ages ago lol). This could be the Official Game for our event!
We'll have to come up with some other things too (which also includes House-elves) but I definitely think we should go with the tournament thing. Or we could just do a separate question round for house-elves only. Only because House Spirit is generally when sorting happens and there may not be too many active elves at that point.

A little more about the Contest: Maybe on certain days and certain times (House Spirit lasts one week) questions will be asked and the house members have to make sure they ask it. Like an interactive thing I guess.

I like the idea of you being Trivia Master (no favoritism for Ravenclaw lol)
Sooo, if no one else is going to join in the conversation I'm certain we have our game and our theme (mix up?)...anything else you guys wanna add?

This might have already been done at some point (I know the guild has been around for forever, and the idea is a little generic but I've been working on my "elf look" with my avi and it got me thinking) what about a sort of "look alike" competition, but you try to do look alikes in each house. Like the slytherins could do best Draco-look... or even more creative option like, best Millocent Bullstrode(sp?).. and then have like a dance or something???.... I dunno... I just think it's something that people could have a lot fun with....
It's kinda lame in light of all the great ideas i've been hearing so far... but i just thought i'd put it out there. xd

Oh... and since i didn't respond... I really like the idea of the trivia and everything, it sounds like fun! xd
I'm always up for throwing down some potter knowledge, and I just know i'm not the only one.
... The whole house though rooting you on?? eek i don't envy the last ones in it... no pressure right?? **nervous laugh**
I'd be glad to help out with anything you need, as you might see i'm just itching to get involved... xd

No I really like that! And that's something everyone can participate in!
So far I like the three big ideas. We have an Avatar contest, Competition, and a theme.... man I'm so excited because there was no way I would've thought of any of this.
Red: make sure you have your club ready for Fall Term (if you're interested). Make the thread in the White Tomb for now and a mod will move it later to the Around Hogwarts subforum
