Well, it's like pirating. The episode is provided free to viewers. Viewers who, because of that, are likely not going to buy legit copies of the episode. In turn, the producers of the anime aren't going to see as much profit as they need to, to cover production costs and all. This is why the creators might be against fansubbing.
...That's how I understand it, anyway... sweatdrop
