Nukta was so caught up in thought that he just didn't see what was coming next. He should've known better than to let his guard down.
As Adanna's roar belted out from directly beside him every hair on Nukta's body went ridgidly tense. His heartrate spiked up and hammered double time as adrenaline was shot through his veins and each nerve went on end. He actually startled physically off the ground! He tried to cover it up, but hardly did very well as he staggered aside one step, quickly resheathing his claws in sudden embarassment. Olive eyes shot from Pride rock to the orange-hued lioness at his side, still wide with surprise.
"A-ADA! Geez! Give a guy some warning would ya'?!"

"Wha?" Ada looked at him with a puzzled from, "You said to announce us! And I did." She shrugged the matter off, though she couldn't help but grin smuggly at how startled he had been. "Someone's a little edgy..." She teased affectionately as she stuck out her tongue at him. Someone needed to calm down a little.

Ezeoha seemed to be knocked right out of his frame of mind at the voice of someone that wasn't quite familiar. He was sure that he knew everyone in the Pridelands, even though he was probably the youngest cub around. Reluctantly he let the beetle he had trapped in between his paws scamper away to safety. Well, if there was someone new around the only person proper to take care of the situation was himself. He was Ezeoha, and with his jewelry clattering noisly he abandoned his post.
"I think that was just a little too loud for my likings," he murmured to himself, necklace winging enthusiastically from side to side as he began to climb down and away from the safety that Pride Rock gave him. It was funny how he had managed to slip out of his mother's watchful eye. She was usually very protective of him, and he could never really figure out why. Perhaps all mothers were simply like that.
"Why do they have to make climbing so difficult?" He complained, red eyes narrowing into a glare at Pride Rock, which he was beginning to leave behind. The young cub could see the two lions in the distance, and from his point of view they looked small.
At least they looked small until he got closer. But, being the brave little cub he was he didn't bother to back down at the sight of an older male. Throwing caution to the wind he seemed to prance forward, head raised high, as if he was the heir to Pride Rock.
"Heeeyyylllllooooo."
The cub seemed to be perfectly content seating himself but a few feet away from Nukta and Adanna.
"I don't think mommy's going to like strangers around here. But mommy doesn't know, and I do, and I think that makes a whole lot of difference. I'm Ezeoha," he eyed Adanna, and a goofy little grin broke out on his face. "D'you like my necklace? It's nearly as pretty as you."

Nukta bristled again with another round of embarassment. "Oh shut up." He grumbled, unaware of the approaching youth until he was right near and then sitting in front of them.
"..."
Nukta looked much like a grazing herdbeast, what with his jaw hanging ajar as it was for the moment. ~Is this little kid flirting with Adanna?~
He cast his eyes (just his eyes) in her direction as he took in everything that was said. His amusement aside, he hadn't missed the mention of the words "Mommy", "like", "strangers", "here", and "isn't" in the same sentence. Each word hitting harder than the last. (( gonk ))
"Eh..."

Adanna looked up to see a cub coming down from the rock. She hadn't met a cub in a while and she felt a little curious at his size. Were all cubs this small now? Strange...the last cub she met hadn't been. Or maybe she had just been smaller...either way, it sure was different.
She blinked at him with a perplexed look. His necklace? What in the heck did that have to do with anything? Ada, being dense when it came to flirting or anything related to such things didn't catch the hint the cub was trying to drop, "Uh...yeah I guess...I don't like jewlry that much though...even though I'm wearing this freakish thing..." She frowned a little, disliking being so confused, but she didn't voice her question about the matter.

Ezeoha turned his attention back to Nukta, as if he was not as important as Adanna obviously was. "I never knew one who's mouth could drop so low and remain that way for so long." A smug little smile came onto his face, and it was obvious the cub was trying to poke fun at his 'competition'.
"It'd be nice to know your name, too. I'm not sure I like it when I don't know a trespasser's name. Mommy wouldn't like it either. Maybe I should go and get her..." His voice trailed off, and at the back of his mind there was an evil little smirk. Ezeoha would get what he wanted, and right now he wanted the pretty lioness's name. Nukta's name would be nice too, so he could call his enemy by name.
"I do not think it is freakish. You simply modify it's beauty." The cub stood up, and trotted forward distinctly closer to Adanna, as if he was giving Nukta a direct challenge for her. "Could I have the pleasure of knowing such a jewel's name?"

(*pops in, whimpering* ;x; Kin I join? )
Chinara'fola had somehow managed to get herself lost, and the only thing she could see above the wavey sea of dried grass was the large formation that was Pride Rock.
Stumbling along with those floppy white paws of hers, she managed to break away from the grass, and finally got to see the Pridelanders' home in all it's mountainous glory. And there were even lions there!
Excited to meet these fine feline fellows, China quickly changed her stumble into a goofy run, stretching out her legs to appear important. As if running made her important. Unfortunately, a rather oddly-placed rock prevented her from becoming important, as she immediately tumbled head-over-paws, down a little hill and towards the lions' gathering spot. What a wonderful entrance! 8D

Okay. Amusment gone. ((>X|))
Nukta's head shook, his brow furrowing into a frown of befuddlement. What the hell? He wasn't just imagining it!
~This cub isn't just flirting with Adanna, he's insulting ME too!!~
Despite his best inward attempts, Nukta couldn't help but feel the bite of jealousy by the cub's confidence. He wasn't threatened by the cub himself by a long shot, he was way too young and far out of his league, in Nukta's eye (out of league for what?), but what if all of the lions in this pride were like this? He had to get it from someone.... didn't he?
Snorting in annoyance, Nukta glowered down past dark rimmed eyes at the little 'ambassador', not at all impressed, though the jewlery did have him wondering in the back of his mind. Nukta wasn't conciously this dense, and the thought did strike him somewhere inside that the jewelry might signify importance or royalty. He knew the basics of how prides worked from hearsay and his parents.
"It's Nukta."

Adanna continued to frown slightly in confusion. Jewl's name? Did he mean her necklace. His phraises used in flirtation only seemed to confuse the gold-orange femme. Perhaps it was because she wasn't used to hearing anything close to flattery, so she didn't know how to spot it. "Uh...well it doesn't have a name," she mumbled, still confused by the little lion before her. Really little. Dang, she still couldn't believe how small cubs were now.
"I'm Adanna though," she said after Nukta offered his own name. Well, whatever, saying that was easier. Her ears twitched and she glanced back to see another lion not far off. But since these lands were full of the scents of them she didn't really think it was something odd.

Ezeoha sent a challenging look straight at Nukta when the lion seemed to be annoyed enough to glower at him. "Well, Nuky, welcome to the Pridelands. I think you'll enjoy your stay, at least until the adults come and rip you apart for glowering at me so." The little lion puffed out his chest, making his statement clear. You mess with me, and you're in big trouble.
"What a lovely name for such a lovely lioness as yourself," he crooned. Did his parents not teach him anything? He was making his advances plainly obvious, when being subtle would be a wiser path. Oh well, the dense female didn't seem to be catching on. For a moment Ezeoha wondered if he really wanted a dense female to like him. He really preferred girls who were intelligent, and beautiful.
Dilemma!
There was another rouge to join in the party, and it would not be so bad if she was not female, and closer to his own age than Adanna. She was, admittedly, a little bit of a clutz, but he found that cute. So, being the little pimp he was destined to be, he chirped up, a goofy grin upon his face. "Hello, how nice of you to grace my presence with such innocent beauty! I'd accept you into the Pridelands right away, m'dear, if only the choice was mine."
Did he have no tact?

(Whatta flirt. XDD )
Chinara lifted her head up from the dirt and sandy dirt, and seeing Ezeoha greet her, immediately jumped up. She shook her body, bits of grass and dirt clumps flying. How embarassing for the poor thing!
Listening to the cub's speech, her eyes widened with awe. Pridelanders.. they looked so.. so regal, so majestic... unlike herself, sitting in the dirt like a nutjob. "Weally?" she squeaked hopefully, slowly padding towards the lions. She had to be careful with them.

~Oh brother.~ Nukta rolled his eyes, not bothering to hide his annoyance. He was having many, many second thoughts about this place, but he knew Adanna wouldn't take kindly to being dragged all the way here for nothing, especially if he dismissed the place over something so petty as being jealous of an arrogant, royal pipsqueak.
Nukta shot the little one a flat look.
"Rip me apart, huh?" He didn't sound impressed. He didn't feel so intimidated by the idea of this guy's parents anymore either. "If the pride here is that hostile, Ada, maybe we should keep looking."
.... And he was at it again! Nukta shot Adanna a look at the young male's antics, whispering to her.
"Is it just me, or are you getting the impression that these pridelanders a little strange so far?"

Ada looked at Ezeoha with confused suspicition. No one ever really complimented her on anything. Nukta sure as heck didn't, so she wasn't sure what to think as he flattered her. She watched as he quickly shifted his attention to the other female.
With an idle swish of her white tufted tail she listened as Nukta whispered to her about the pridelands. She frowned at Nukta slightly, "You can't just judge people out of the blue like that...we haven't met everyone." This seemed to be what she believed, even if the cub was a little...odd.

Chinara was cute, he decided. The little pronunciations seemed to make her seem all the more innocent and sweet to him, and he was pretty sure he liked that. The little cub, momentarily forgetting Adanna and Nukta, trotted up to meet Chinara. "I think I can convince grandma and grandpa to allow you in. They're the," and he seemed to say this a little loudly just so Nukta could hear, "rulers of the Pridelanders, Sarabi and Mufasa. I love them to bits, and they love me too.
"But, I haven't even introduced myself to you, my dear. I'm Ezeoha, son of Rehani and Denahi. And would you be as so sweet to give me your name?" He smiled charmingly at the other little female, tilting his head to the side as if to further show off his necklace. Perhaps this female would be attracted to his jewelry.
"We aren't hostile," he called back to Nukta. "It's just that if I let it slip that I think you're harrassing me, they might not take too kindly too it." The little cub hefted his chin up, and snorted.

(Showoff, too! XD)
The cub's eyes widened more as she heard who the grandparents of this cub were. She'd heard about these two lions from her parents' constant stories. Especially about how they united lions everywhere, love and harmony, yadda yadda yadda.
"My name's Chinawa'fowa," she said, trying to feel as proud of her background as Ezeoha did. But her pronunciations made her feel more like an infant, rather than a lion cub.
Her eyes looked at Ezeoha's necklace, and, not really knowing manners very well, immediately prodded the jewel dangling from it. It felt sleek and smooth, just as Ezeoha acted. She felt even more infantile.
