angelic_9063 Teh Lost Soul Honeypie15 Why do trumpets have high egos? I have no intention of insulting any trumpetists because i play flute and trumpet myself. I just wanna know why i as a flutist, we get ignored and other stuff like that. Forgive me inadvance if i offend anyone by posting this message. i just want a honest answer Now see that's not true for everyone. People are just too sterotypical. About half the trumpets in my school pretend to have high ego's but most of is don't. lots in my school have high egos. they just think that because they're so much louder than the rest of the band, that they're better (even though half of them are really blasting most of the time) im a trumpetist and that is kinda how we are cuz the trumpet section is divided into 1st trumpet and 2nd trumpet(im a 1st) the 2nd trumpets don't know thier parts so they play REALY soft and we have to play lound so we can be heard aslo some dudes in my section have pretty big egos cuz thier good but it is mostly the saxes that have the really big egos....or so they think >:]

Yeah, in my band, there are 17ish trumpets. 5 of us (me included) are decent, 7ish are hopeless, and the rest are very hopeless. They're the ones who were forced into band cuz of their parents, and so don't try at all. I find it kinda funny that out of 17 students, 3 are girls, and we all belong to the decent section razz

Our trumpets aren't egotistical. Except for one of them. Most of the time its the mediocre players that have the biggest egos, because the poor players don't care and the good players have better things to do. Luls

Why, just today...(get ready for a long story)While we were playing the Star Spangle Banner in peperation for floorshow many, many...many insults were passed about XD But just the other day I got a compliment about how good the trumpet section sounded from the director!(=*D it made me so happy!)

So I was thinking about quitting so I won't be in band Sophomore year but then I think I'm gonna stay because we're losing a lot of trumpets in marching band.. Without me they'd only have 9... So I think I'm staying!

Well... we have 8 trumpets. 3 eighth graders, 1 9th grader, 2 tenth, 1 eleventh, and a senior. Our senior is the band director's intern and he conducts some of the music for us so... he has a reason to gloat. I have a reason to gloat because even though i get 3rds all the time, I was specifically given a 6th out of8 trumpet parts ((there are 8 parts in the piece, military march)) My part plays when no one else does, and I lock in with the 2nd trumpet, who is also and 8th grader. But there is an 11th grader in 7th. The parts that were given for that piece were given because they needed some things. 7+8 are pretty much the same 6+2 go together. 5 has is own thing and 4+3+1 are together.

Well, I'm in a smaller band. where theres two of us and a cornet, and I'm the highest level of all of them, but us two trumpeters, along with the saxomophonists make that band what it is...we're loud, exciting and give the band true personality. Without trumpeters, bands would be lifeless!! Are trumpeters in other bands like us?

There was this boy who my trumpet teacher deemed so hopeless he moved him to tuba and then the kid told his mum so hids mum would yell at my instructor to move him back, but he still doesn't even take his trumpet home to practise! So eventually they moved this year 7 girl into one of the bands I'm in and SHE plays better than him! It's silly some of the time, theres these noobs that were afraid to play a high e(at the top op the stave) so I ended up being the only one on first! But then ofcourse its worth it if I get the music award again for brass! Suffer their faces!

My Band Is Huge. We Have 18 Marching Trumpets And 17 Concert Trumpets. The First And The Seconds Are Good. But The Thirds Are Not The Best. When I Plat The Third, I'm The Best. And I Haven't Even Been Playing The Longest. My Mouth Piece Look Terrible. I Got It Really Stuck Once And My Dad Tried To Get It Out With Pliers And Scraped It. My Sister Also Boiled It To Clean It And She Put Dish Washing Soap In It. The Mouth Piece Turned Black But Sometimes Looks Purple. Its Kinda Faded Now Though.
