Paul crowed. "Shenanigans win again!" he laughed. "I so get that vial. Of poison. Which I'm not sure why you're carrying, which might involve many more shenanigans, but I'm not going to ask, because that might get hairy." He sat down. His part in this fight could go somewhere quickly, but he didn't count on it at all.

((Thanks, Siber. I have no idea what that means, but thanks. biggrin ))

((Oh, I thought in your last post you had... or... um... nevermind. ninja ))

Siber finished chanting and focused his power into his Vishuddha and Anahata. Winds filled the area from the strength he was using, whipping about debris in the area as Deflambeaux snapped into being, Jivat riding her head.
The French woman had chosen a heron as her "reincarnated form," silver and about four feet tall. Nothing flashy, but undeniably elegant. As soon as she came into being, she and the dragonfly swept into a short series of castings. The two embattled Warlocks stopped where they were. Only their mouths could move, because the shield was made tangent to their shields to avoid clashing magicks.
Siber bowed low to the two women as they faded out and approached the combatants with a withering, patronizing roll of the eyes. "Good Lord; this is like babysitting. Can we make a deal? How's this - we all go kill Helmsborough without killing one another, or even wounding one another very significantly. As soon as that's done, Joe, you can take your little fire pixie out on Samuel, or whatever that is, and Samuel, you can start trying to dissolve Joe again. Does that make everyone at the very least quiescent, if I can't make you happy? Oh, and... don't try breaking this little spell. It'll stop whenever I want it to, but until then, just... don't.
"Paul, I guess you win." He pulled one of the vials of cyanide out and tossed it over. "You can coat bullets with that so that even if you graze someone, they choke to death on their own blood, as long as you insulate it against the heat of the explosion. Graphic? Yes. Effective? Heck yes."

((Also: edit: I just learned that I can't definitively say that that's how silver cyanide kills. Sodium cyanide works better, but silver (I thought until looking at Wikipedia) is more common. And Palanhuik says that it makes you cough up blood and die, but Wikipedia says it shuts down your respiratory and central nervous system. Does anyone know for sure?))

Paul caught the vial, his eyebrows going up and his mouth forming an "o". "Oooh," he said, staring at it for a minute. "Poison. I love it." Carefully, he pocketed it, standing up slowly. He stood up, stretching a little, before he pushed the magazine release on the rifle. The bolt snapped open as he did so, and he glanced in surprise. There was no round in the chamber when the magazine was pulled out, but it was a closed-bolt rifle. Suddenly it hit him; the rifle pulled the round out of the chamber and returned it to the magazine. "Fancy," Paul muttered, moving over towards the once-conflict.

((I'm moderately certain silver cyanide targets the CNS, but don't quote me on that.))

Joe growled. "Damn it. Fine." There was no point trying to argue; where would it get him? Stuck in Paralysis City, that's where. He sighed.
Change of plans...my Lord? Lady? An introduction would be nice. Anyways. The fight has been postponed. Can I rely on you in the future, if I promise to fight this Sage-in-training again?

Joe got the impression that the proper answer to that seemed to be yes as the fire receded.

Joe mentally nodded his thanks as he felt his power ebb to its normal level. With a sigh, he resumed the healing of his hands. It was much, much slower, but luckily he was nearly done.
"Can I move yet?" he asked Siber.

Samuel rolled his eyes. "If you insist, I can put this off, but don't think I'll miss a fabulous opportunity if it presents itself. The less effort I have to put into fulfilling my promises, the better. That will always be my opinion on the matter. Right now, it was this one that was pushing the issue, so don't pull the guns on me. In any case, we better get to that meeting spot before our chances of getting chewed out by our superiors skyrocket."

Siber glared coldly at the two of them for a few moments before speaking. "I hope you both know it's obvious I don't trust you. However, I am going to hold you to your words because we all have to hit the rendezvous shortly." He dropped the spell. "Samuel, you need to consider which of your masters holds you more tightly, and Joe... I will not hold myself responsible for the actions I may have to take to keep you in check if you plan on losing control again.
"Paul, are you ready to go? We should get moving." After waiting for responses, he set off back towards the meeting place, ignoring the rubble left behind.

Paul shrugged. "Okay," he said. "Let's take a car and put like Joe or Sam in shotgun. I really don't think we ought to put them in the back of a car together, do you?" he added wryly. He followed after Siber slightly hesitantly, since the meeting place was away from the Taurus Paul still had the keys to. For emphasis, he pulled the keys out of his pocket and jingled them for a moment.

"Oh. Right, a car. Kinda lost track of how far we had gotten." He spun a bit haphazardly in that direction. "Do you know a way around the overpass, or we just going to guess?" Either way, he was ready to get in and go.

Paul shrugged. "We'll work something out, i really don't know for sure but there should be another overpass a street down. Shouldn't be hard," he added, stepping over to the car and getting in. "Come on, gents," he finished.

Joe scoffed. "Lose control? I'm perfectly in control, Siber. The only reason I did what I did is because he tried to kill me first. But fine. If you don't trust me, then I guess that'll just make it harder to beat Helmsborough. Not something I'm really gonna worry about for now."
He slid into the front seat and sat looking out the window, stroking his chin.

((I was bored.))

Paul climbed into the Taurus, and it became immediately apparent that whoever was sitting on the left side of the back seat was not going to be very comfortable, as Paul was forced to push the seat to its furthest back position. This did leave enough room for a person to theoretically sit, but it would not be comfortable.

Since they were on the highway facing the bypass now, Paul pulled the wheel around and slowly, ever so slowly, turned the vehicle about, joining the increasing throngs of persons turning around and leaving. Emergency vehicles were now on the highway below as well as on either side of the bypass, blocking off incoming traffic and sending them on a detour route. The police seemed to occasionally be randomly stopping persons they decided were suspicious, and since some of them had apparently seen at least part of the fight, they moved as though to stop the car, but then apparently had second thoughts. Whether these second thoughts were orders or fear, it was hard to say; they let the car go by, and Paul gave them a pleasant smile and a wave as he turned towards the meetingplace.

Siber had hit up the right rear seat, giving him access to more points of restraint in case there were problems. So Paul's sitting situation didn't bother him overly much. Or at all, really. He rode in silence.

((Fake post 'cuz I just need to let y'all know: my posts'll be down to weekends only. School has become significantly more demanding in the space of the last few hours. Siber will become uncharacteristically impassive/passive until those days each week unless someone feels comfortable writing his character.
