"I'm doing fine mother, it's great to see you also." The lion chuckled softly, tail sweeping back and forward as he watched his eldest son play with his 'grandmother's' tail. He really could make the older male worried sometime's.
Kimba liked the attention, but mostly because he loved being around the adult's a lot, when Koho adressed him he practicly jumped. "I do gweat! I learneded too new words! Zeebwo an' Gozeel!"
Suku smiled softly. "He mean's, Zebra and Gazelle." As his mate gently whispered into his ear he gently whispered back. "He's doing alright, but he almost couldn't speak when trying to talk to some of my friends." Before gently returning the soft kiss to her cheek.
The little lion nodded, only to purr softly at his mother's attention, nuzzling her back lovingly and having no idea at the worry he caused them. Well...he had an inkling. As Tekeza spoke to him, his smile brightened and he turned to her. "Hi Teke-...Tek-.." But before he could even sound out the word properly, the voice of his older cousin, Malik, made him jump a little. Malik was fun, always the attention seeker and Kimba was in awe with how 'street smart' he was. However as his young sister Rehema interupted, he nudged her softly. "I-it okay Reh-Reh-Reheema! Malik only playing!"

((eeeek! he's sooo cute!)) Chak growled a bit as Malik started his approach to Kimba, stepping beside her sister to show her spunky support. "Malik, we all know you just want to prove that you can fight him, so shut it. If you want to fight, why don't you pick one of the cubs that actually cares." Her violet eyes glowed with her willingness to fight him. One of these days she would beat this cub and show him just how pathetic he could be. "I'm sure Kimba would much rather be kind and considerate, he seems to be getting plenty of female support without any of your help anyway..." And it was true, the impaired cub was getting a lot of attention from his sister's as well as Tekeza, which was more than Malik could really say since he was just getting hostility. Chakaleti's white tuffed tail flicked back and forth, her forelegs crouching a bit lower to the ground in a playful bow. Kiso's sandy eyes rolled as Malik just had to bring the attention back to him. The little red cub just stood off to the side of the epic showdown that was starting. If both of the female cubs started to fight, he would hop in just to make it fair, but Kisogo was fairly sure that Malik would do just fine without his help anyway. "C'mon guys, there's no need to fight over it... Like Kimba said, Mal's only playing around, no big deal..." Then Kiso hit on an idea to distract them from all this playfighting that he didn't really want to start anyway, "Hey have any of you guys seen Zen?" Koho nodded at Jasi's words, "Indeed, this will make the pride so much stronger... You are staying in the Pridelands aren't you my dear?" Koho's soft smile split into a delighted grin as little Kimba answered her quite nicely, "Oh I know what he said Suku, I can understand my grandson wonderfully!" Turning back to Kimba she smiled again, "Because he is speaking so wonderfully and learning such wonderful words! So Kimba, which meat do you like better, Zebra or Gazelle?" The golden lioness's soft eyes narrowed dangerously however when Malik started egging the little cub on to fight. The mother made sure to catch her overly confident son with a warning glare before turning back to the cubs and lions in her immediate area. Kimba was getting better and better at speaking every day!

Tekeza ducked back behind her mothers leg when the others came along, all speaking to Kimba. She watched Malik curiously. He was her bigger brother, and she was always in awe at his strength and boldness. He only wanted to play right? He wasnt really making fun of Kimba, he just wanted to teach him how to wrestle, whatever that was. She sliped out from behind her mum and sat at Kimba's side. She stayed silent though, only glanced at the others, then back at Kimba with a little grin.
Jasiri turned to the others, letting the little ones chat, but still keeping an eye on Kimba. "Yes of corse. I traveled alot when I was a cub, always moving around with my colleages. It wasnt the safest enviroment, but then again if I never traveled I wouldnt have ever met Mwali or gone to the Pridelands. I want my cubs to stay in safe inviroment as long as they can, and when they get older, they can decide what they want." Jasi became a little uneasy at all the attention the cubs where giving to Kimba. She knew it was just foolish play, but she didnt want the others to hurt his feelings. He was just as good as them. Still she didnt say anything, she would let them talk it out. "Yes, Kimba is getting much better. I belive by the time he's an adult it will be all gone." She grinned and flicked her tail.

The cub humped, lifting his head with a cocky but disappointed sneer to the two females in his way, his tail swishing cooly behind him, "Right right, only playin'." He smiled a bit more sincerey, "But ya gotta learn sometime', no? I 'eard that out in th' wild lands there's lions dat'll fight ya widdout warnin', come right outta da shadows."
He crept along the ground in a stalking crawl, his lips pulled back into a cruel grin, "Lions dat'll STRIKE!" he jumped at the small group a bit, pretty much standing up on his hind legs and thrusting his paws out to mock a pounce, "When ya' get tah t'inkin' dat you're all a lone... see they's be da ones wit' no prides... no prides means no rules, n' they got no need tah leave ya' live.. they'll kill ya an' eat'cha 'cause das about all they's gots by ways of food.."
He stood himself up as tall as he could, tossing his head up to clear his face of the mane he liked to believe was there, "N' I could take ya both on n' best 'cha with my eyes closed I betch'a. Reh couldn't even catch a mouse."
Rehema felt empowered having her sister beside her, grinning a bit more. "Well if there's rogue lions I'm sure they'd only attack YOU." She snapped back, "Because you're the only one here that'd be dumb enough to wonder away from the pride lands."
She mocked her sister's crouch, her rump up in the air and tail snapping back and forth. Ooh if he wanted to go she'd go. Alone she always found him overpowering her but with two on one it was cake.
"Now now...", Mwali's voice came from just to the left of the group, a sheepish smile on his face. His body was dusted heavily to include a large clump of dirt on his snout. He had gone out with the hunters again to see if he could learn anything at all. In recent hunts he had proved useful as the focus of attention, the herd would easily spot the red goliath coming towards them and he had a roar and charge that was enough to scare them into the claws of waiting lionesses- but nothing else. He wasn't at all fast so though he looked scary, he wasn't much of a threat if a gazelle could run even at an average pace. If something came close enough it would surely be in for a brutal death but Mwali had never managed to actually catch somethign on his own.
In the recent hunt he had tried to flank the herd but only managed to give himself a run that he felf was far too long. He had come within his own body length of a gazelle but it had speed enough to keep well away from his claws. At his closest grab at one of the herd he had tripped trying to turn as sharply as the deer had managed and had been awarded with a dusty pelt... he still assured himself that in a fight he would perform much better so at least he could protect the pride as he had promise.
"We don't need any of that." He shook his mane out, sending a small cloud of dust swirling around him and throwing out a sneeze as it was only blown back into his face.

(( D: good lord... xD look at all the lions! I didn't even notice you were all posting again... too bad Kiuma's gone, or I'd bring her in too ;P *jumps in*)) Sarabi padded from the darkness in the den to stand blinking in the bright sunlight outside. Bright crimson eyes, ones that had passed through to her children and grandchildren (though she didn't know it yet), blinked quickly a few times. My my... there was quite a ruckus going on out here, eh? The golden queen smiled, her tail sweeping lazily. It was good to see all the cubs, and especially good to see the old, beloved faces. Too long had the pride been shrunken. Her smile widening, Sarabi padded towards the large group, the wooden beads of her necklace clicking softly. "Good morning, everyone."

((*places Na'ilah in the thread to meet up with Sarabi* ^^))
After meeting up with Rehani and taking a slight liking to the area, the green lioness felt that this was a more welcoming place than where she had grown up in. Padding softly through the lush grass towards the scents of others, lime green eyes looked for the head of the pride. Na'ilah had hoped that she could, perhaps, join this pride and make a place for herself. Her tail flicked back and forth slightly, as a fluttering was felt in her stomach, sort of like she was walking into unknown territory. Slightly nervous of what is to come, but at the same time, hopeful. Calling out softly to make her presence known as she spotted figures in the distance, she didn't want to catch anyone off guard. "Hello?"

Koho smiled delightedly at the appearance of her sister-in-law. She hadn't seen the queen of the pridelands in far too long, and she had a few things to thank this very lioness for most profusely! Standing quickly and closing the distance between the two golden lioness's of royalty, Koho rubbed her pale head against the weak queen's neck, greeting her with a sisterly lick on the shoulder, "Sarabi! It's been far too long... I never got a chance to thank you for allowing my cubs to be brought home.... It means the world to me, as I'm sure you would know with your own cubs now!" She smiled a bit sheepishly at her forgetfulness, however she hadn't had much of a hand in raising the royal cubs, since she had been taking care of the younger ones mostly and Sarabi's brood were a bit too old to be cared for by the pride nanny anymore...
Without another word however Koho's attention was drawn away by the very lion whom her thoughts had been gracing upon. "Mwali my love!" The ecstatic nature of the older lioness reflected upon her cub days, a side of her her mate always tended to bring out. The golden lioness rushed to be by the red prince's side the soonest instant she could. Skillfully avoiding the dustcloud sent about by his fur, Koho was able to place a tasteful however intimate kiss on his dirt covered snout, also throwing in a few cleaning licks to help him look more presentable. Through the pretense of continuing to clean him she snuggled her mate lovingly, no doubt to anyone that love was the determining factor in the golden creature's decision....((i'll throw up the cubbehs in a bit, I'm a little busy at the moment xD))

Sukutu chuckled softly at the two lovers, watching his mother and Mwali, before giving a greeting nod to the Queen. He still had to respect his manner's, as did Kimba who nodded his head in return like his father. The older lion smirked, nudging his first born with his paw happily before whispering. "Copycat."
The little juvenille just happily stuck his tongue out in a playful manner to his father, only to watch as his grandmother suddenly dissapeared on him. Oh well. More time to play with the other's. As Tekeza sat by his side, he let himself give a friendly nuzzle into her shoulder, smiling his good ol' friendly smile while the adults and other kid's talked and squabbled.

((Alrighhht! ^_^ <3 Nukta and Adanna are interested in joining the Pridelande-pride. Bluefire asked us to pop them in here to meet Sarabi, so-- hi all! ^_^
Nukta: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y190/fullmetalpygmy/siggy/SOA/nuktaadol.png
Adanna: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/san206/adannaadol.jpg ))
-----------------------
They'd been traveling for a few days now, going by the ocassional word of mouth information they managed to gather. Two rogues brought together by tragic circumstance and kept together by the ties of friendship, Nukta and Adanna.
They had both hit adolescence by now, being close like siblings all until now. Now the friendly sibling-rivalry they'd once had, had grown into friendship of the best kind. With this, however, came the inevitable urge to find a place to call home, to settle down. They were rogues for the better half of their lives and now they were ready to find a more stable life.
The larger of the two, Nukta, gazed about with caution in his eyes... He... wasn't all that sure about this now, there were a lot of lions already gathered here, females, and cubs. Parents.... oh this might not end well.
"Awful crowded." He gulped softly, inaudibly, but noticeably as he whispered this to Adanna. His head ducked a little, hoping that the two wouldn't be taken as a threat.

"Mm?" Ada asked absently as she loped along, her head high and her strides rather energetic. She seemed to be taking the land in very well and enjoying it too. It wasn't cold, that was for sure! And she liked that. It wasn't hot like her old desert home either, so it seemed just right...and there always seemed to be whatever they needed right in front of their noses.
She cocked her head and glanced at her best friend, "Oh...well...yeah. The place is really nice, so why not?" She found it a little strange too-she had only been among her brothers and father when she was young and then just Nukta...numbers was not something she was used to. But, judging from her open attitude, she didn't seem to mind so much.

Mwali smiled as his mate took notice of him, his whiskers flushing out a bit in embarassment of how filthy he had come back. Koho was always so patiant with him, finding his attempts at hunting to be more or less cute rather than embarassing. As long as she was with him he didn't feel at all strange in the pride. Had it not been for her it was likely he'd have been told to leave. Hunting definately wasn't his strong point and yet that was his established rank among the pride... it was still strange for him, a prince now a hunter. "Koho...", he purred, reaching a large paw around to rest between her neck and shoulders, his large tounge licking at her face playfully. "The lionesses managed to bring back some food. Not a large haul but enough for everyone." He smiled a bit sheepishly.
"Aww, pap when am I gonna get tah go out n' learn 'how to hunt with you?", Malik's attention was instantly pulled away at the mention of a kill. He was hungry but it wasn't nearly as urgent at his disappointment in not being invited to go along, "C'mon I can learn now. I'm big 'nuff... I caught lil' t'ings all myself ya' know. Caught a mouse an' almost got m'self a whole hare." He puffed his chest up a bit, moving inbetween his parents, "'Ey Ma, can I get myself a bath? Gonna see 'bout walkin' 'bout n' meetin' th' other cubs 'ere. Don't want to look shabby, no?"
"Please...", Rehema sighed, her ears lowering a bit, "Malik wants to go around and flirt with all the other girls. That's what he means- and if he can't find any girls he's gonna fight with the males." She ignored the glare her 'cousin' shot off and looked back to the others, "I think we should go to the waterhole after lunch. She paused as Sarabi entered, getting to her paws instantly and bowing her head, "Good morning Aunt Sarabi!"

Nukta paused, ears perking. They could definitely make out voices now, and the rock formation was just up ahead.
He came to a stop, eyes roaming over the lands. His ears and nose were far more sensitive and fine-tuned than his eyes. They hadn't been lying to him before, this land did smell of many lions, young and older alike. Nukta was inwardly fighting a battle with himself to stay relaxed. A life traveling alone with just Adanna for constant companionship for so long... he'd become adjusted to that, to not having any other guys around. Dare he even think himself to be territorial? She was just his best friend though, nothing more to it than that right?
None the less, the scents of the males were putting him on edge the more they neared, but he couldn't turn around and go back on this. He wanted them to find someplace to settle, so he'd just have to ignore this uneasy feeling until it had a chance to subside.
Once they were within yelling distance (which was quite a bit considering how far their voices could carry at full blast) of Pride rock, Nukta looked to Adanna from the corner of his eye. "Think we should announce ourselves?"

Adanna was completely oblivious to the nature of Nukta's worries. Sure, she noticed he was a little off, but it wasn't as bad as it had been some days ago and she asumed it had something to do with meeting the pride that lived here. After all, they were coming in to asked to be accpeted, but that didn't mean it would actually happen. They could be kicked out just as easily and taken in.
She blinked, peering over at him and felt a grin curl across her maw. "Well, we could...but I don't think screaming it from here would be too polite, do you?" Though, if he felt it was best she'd have no problem yelling that they were here-she did have a rather lough mouth, after all.

"Maybe..." He rumbled softly, gazing at the gathering point once again. "... but there are a lot of cubs in this area, I'm... I'm not really sure what the best approach is. Protective adults aren't the ones you want to cross."
Hell, protective juveniles such as he himself had once been had a hell of a fierce streak. True, juveniles weren't very harmful or dangerous but trying to imagine his temper backed by about two hundred and thirty extra pounds of muscle, agility, and claws?
Nukta shuddered from ears to tail tip at the thought.

"Hm..." Ada wrinkled her nose in thought as she shifted her gaze to the large rock not far ahead. Being the blunt girl she was, she quickly tossed aside trying to thick up and plan and simply decided to call out that they were here. Ah well, so much for being polite! "Heeeeeey! Is anyone up there?" she called out loudly to be sure someone could here her. Ah, there she was...being tactless as ever and not really giving a care at all. That was typical Adanna for you.
