Issildia regretted that her companions would not retreat, for this battle could very well be their last. She knew well enough of the gruesome beasts that had been summoned to dispatch her comrades. Anier was located to the far east of Larovia, close enough to have granted the citizens of that fallen city a bit of knowledge concerning what lay on the other side of the great forest that extended along Larovia's eastern lands. Most of the tales had been brushed aside as the superstitious beliefs of the ignorant, but Lady Matier had never been one to simply brush such things aside, so many soon learned to share her dread and avoid that dark forest and the lands that it guarded...
~As the crimson shadows turned their attention to her Issildia quickly cut her left hand with her blade, smearing the surface of her sword with her own blood. "Aman tel' Seldarine" she uttered quickly. Her blood quickly sank into the pale silver metal of the blade at her words. Then the sword took on a faint glow, proving that the spell had taken effect; temporarily placing within the weapon a more holy sort of aura that normally proved effective against a shadow manipulation spell, but this....this was far different that what one would deem as normal.
The deadly point of one of the shadows' arm like extensions suddenly drove down at Issildia who quickly dropped to the ground into a crouched position before lunging forward, her spelled blade held out to her right in a horizontal fashion to deal out a swift clean cut. And indeed the blade made contact with the shadow flesh, but before should could launch another attack the wound sealed with a hiss...

I know I haven't been on since, probably January, but is there any room for Streak anymore?)) (((The best time for you to come back into the story would probably be when we reach Faltora and have our proverbial Helms Deep battle lol whee . )))

The Dailontra charged sin thowing it's entire weight at him in an attempt to crush the monkoto under it's body mass. Sin watched the monster come at him smileing as his firey arm guards each suddenly sent out a massive stream of flame forming into what looked to be blades of fire. With one smooth motion Sin sidestepped the mosters charge while slideing the two blades, paralle to each other, into the monsters side and upwards through it's cheast and out of it's sholder. Turning around Sin smiled as the arm of the moster fell off completly and it stumbled from it's failed charge and fell over.
Turning his back to the Dailontra Sin looked back at everyone else seeing where he was needed the most. Suddenly He was sent flying fowards as a massive blow to his back lifted him up into the air and sending him crashing to the ground a dozen feet from where he stood. Looking up he saw the Dailontra standing where he was, it's arm missing, getting ready for another charge.
"Damit why can't anything just die easy..."

"Issildia!" Archer yelled. He pulled three arrows out, each between his fingers, and pulled them taut on his bowstring, and let them fly quickly, in a simple buckshot kind of attack, aimed straight at the crimson shadows chest.

The arrows merely irritated the amassment of crimson shadows but it gave Issildia that chance she needed to launch another attack that would have a better change at dealing out more damage to the shadows. Quickly she came to her feet and raised her bloodied hand over her, her blade held off to the side to act as a counter weight for what she planned.
"Pela en' bela templa, Pelekta yassen runya!"
As she said this a white fire flared to life around her left hand. Then, twisting around in a counter clockwise motion, using her blade as a counter balance of a sort, the white fire suddenly lashed outwards in a circular pattern to sear into the shadow flesh of the two nearest of the crimson shadows.
Though soon enough the spell was spent, but unlike with the wounds dealt to the creatures by her sword which healed almost instantly, the burns caused by the spell remained.
Issildia immediately put this new found information to use.
"Aman tel' Seldarine... Pelekta yassen runya..." she uttered with a tinge of venom threaded through her tone as she once again allowed her blood to stain her sword, but this time the spell she set into the blade was far different from the one she had attempted to put to use earlier. Immediately she leapt forward, barely avoiding the dagger sharp extensions off the shadow creatures' bodies as the crimson beasts attempted to finish off their prey. Issildia targeted the crimson shadow that had taken the most damage first, hoping that she could at least manage to bring one of these creatures down. Leaping up into the air to deal out a swift vertical blow; she reached the peak of her accent just as her right upper arm was caught by one of the hooked, arm like manifestations of one of her opponents. With a bitter cry of both pain and rage Issildia ignored the wound and dropped to the ground, her blade meeting shadow flesh with a hiss of white sparks.
The first of the five crimson shadows that she had driven her blade through lurched forward as if to attack her but suddenly the dark crimson that the creature was composed of seemed to disintegrate, but instead of fading to nothingness theremains of the defeated creature were quickly absorbed by the remaining four, granting them the dying strength of the defeated fifth.
Issildia's eyes darkened as she stood before her four remaining enemies, her left hand clutching at the torn flesh of her right arm.
" A Eruchi'n, u'dano i'faelas a hyn an uben tanatha le faelas..." As she uttered this the four remaining crimson shadows swiftly lurched forward, and she responded in kind, leaping forward to meet their on coming attack.
(Translations= "Pela en' bela templa, Pelekta yassen runya!"= a Brittanian spell combination of energy and flame. "Aman tel' Seldarine... Sin sneered as the monster charged fowards yet again. This was the third time he doged it and it was getting annoying. Watching the creature turn and build up momentum for it's next pass, Sin slowly took a deep breath and calmed himself for his next attack. As the Dailontra charged fowards Sin crouched and with a massive leap jumped into the air in an arc over the monster's head. As soon as he passed it's head his arm shot out and he eched into the Dailontra's skull a small symbol. continueing though the air Sin rolled to the gound and looked back as the symbol smoked for a moment then with a massive explosion blew off the Dailontra's entire upper body.
"Try walking away from that one.... b***h"

((Marksman, be patient. I have no intent of starting a battle with my main characters just yet. Trust me, once we do meet, iit shall prove most entertaining. twisted BTW, I do hope you all will arrive in Faltora by this Friday. I'l be home by then, AND I have 2 weeks off, so I'll have plenty of time to get my Plot underway. Marksman, I hope your character is as strong as I believe him to be. twisted If you're wonderring why I'm so confident, ask Crow. lol. She has seen an actual profile of my characters...well two of them at least. But she knows how well I fight. lol.
Crow, I hope you don't hate me for this, but I'm going to Ghost Slyph for a sec. This is important to the plot...As well as something for Issildia to think about. More drama.))
~While the battle with the Dailontra continued, no one seemed to notice that Sylph had decided to avoid the battle with the Dailontra. She was disturbingly quiet as she watched her travelling companions fight for their very lives. She indeed had felt the aura of the man who cast the spell against them, and she was all too familiar with the man himself. Her face seemed almost blue with fear as the aura once again appeared, but this time it was followed by the deep tones of his voice.~
Slyph Zitara. I never imagined I would find you in such company.
Akurei? How-How did you find us? eek Wha-what d-do you want?
You know what I want. stare
STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!
~As Akurei began to walk towards her, Slyph began to back away quickly in fear. Her pupils had shunk in disbelief as she could sense the darkness of his soul more clearly than the others. They were obviously acquainted somehow, but their connection remained a mystery.~
Why do you fear me so?
Get....GET AWAY!!!!
Pity. You still cling to the light. You have seen the truth with your own eyes, and yet you refuse to acknowledge it? I will give you some time to think about this, but remember this...Faltora will fall. All who reside there will suffer the same fate as Nikau...And you and your comrades will be powerless to stop it...whether you make it there or not. *begins to walk away* Give my regards to Nicholas. Tell him I will return to claim that which he has stolen from me.
~As Akurei's body disappears from sight, Slyph remains on the ground, curled into the fetal position reciting a Kierdonian prayer. The Dailon beasts all stray away from her position and focus more on the others. It cannot be determined whether the beasts cannot see her, or if they simply do not ackowledge her as a threat. As the battle continues, the clouds above had suddenly begun to overtake the sky spreading a darkness like no other across the area...~

Pain shot through Issildia’s arm as she landed behind the remaining four shadow beasts...Blood ran from the gash at her upper arm and dripped slowly from the two narrow cuts that ran over her jaw line. But before she even had the chance to consider such trivial things , the deadly dagger like manifestations of her opponents shot forward with movements that mimicked the attack patterns of a serpent. Issildia did indeed rely heavily on speed and agility when in battle, and had become rather practiced in such movements, but she was now hard pressed to anticipate the movements of her opponents and still having enough time to make a counter move.
As she leapt back, twisting in a manner to avoid the creatures, her form suddenly disappeared into shadow while still in mid-air. No sooner than she had done this that Issildia reappeared in the same manner on the opposite side of her opponents. Without a moments hesitation she lunged forward, striking out with her blade; her left hand crooked in a spell casting gesture. As her blade met shadow flesh she brought her left hand forward in a swift motion.
"Russe tuulo' moriloomir, naar cam!"
There was a crackle of electricity as the energy of the spell passed from her hand to the open wound that her blade had only recently inflicted upon the creature. There was a brief flare of dark fire as the crimson shadow shrank back, crying out silently in pain.
"We must fall back!" Issildia said to the others as she was granted a moment to speak, while her opponents prepared to strike again. Her wish to retreat was only hastened as the sky was overtaken by shadow and cloud.
(((Translations= "Russe tuulo' moriloomir, naar cam!"= A Brittanian spell paired with an Old world spell for lightinging and fire. *~I swear by the time that this RP finally dies (hopefully a long time from now lol) I will probably be able to speak the bloody Elven language xd )))

~Issildia's call for retreat did not reach the ears of Sylph. She was somewhere that the others could not hope to reach her. Her mind was overcome with the image of her worst fear...the image of the very man that approached her. She was as defenseless as a child as she weeped on the battle filed. Obviously the memories in which she had locked away were taking toll on her ability to fight. As the darkness continued to cover the land, the desert air suddenly became cold with frost. As a particular being finally made his presence known. His body materialized from the very darkness that found a home in the fog below. His blade burning with an indigo flame, he cut through one of the crimson shadows and expelled the beast back to the darkness from wence it came. He then stood normally, and observed his surroundings. Taking notice of a bleedig Issildia, he turned his attention back towards the Crimson shadows, whom now seemed hesitant to attack.~
This must be HIS doing. Lady Issildia, You should fall back. I will deal with these beasts. evil
((BTW, Crow. Do not wai for me when I fall behind. You know I have more than one way of catching up to the plot.))

((FYI next time you summon monsters for us to fight can you give me a little bit more to work with? I mean the one I took down simply charged me like a bull 6-7 times and since I have no clue what these creatures can do a little background info would go a long way...))
Sin's head snapped up from where he was, stabbing one of the Dailon beasts thought it's skull repeatedly, and jumped off the monster heading over to her position.
"Issilida! To me! Keep me covered while I get out escape route organized!"
Hoping she heard him he took one more glance around the battlefield and began to size up their situation.
"Archer! Get Sylph and head over here!"
With one last glance to see if anything was bearing down on him Sin took a deep breath and began to rapidly connect points on his fingers and hands together in rapid succession. As more and more points were connected small red lines began to form in the spaces between his hand movements. collecting together they merged together to create a ball which suddenly shot out away from Sin and far off into the distance.
The air around Sin started to waver and distort as heat began to amass around him. The wavers, if one looked closely, began to swirl around him in a tornado sort of fashion and Sin's hand movements became even faster. Unfortunately one of the Dailon's took notice of his actions and began to build up momentum for a charge at him.
"HURRY EVERYONE!"
Sin shouted urgently, wincing as he began to sweat his wounds from the archers begining to cause him a great deal of pain.
((sure hope no one has a better mass excape route planned cuz I'd hate for my work to go unappericated xp Oh and FYI if you don't get inside the center near Sin quickly enough then the heat outside, whats distorting the air, will most likely cause second degree burns at the least.))

I mean no offence Raven but I was hopeing for more then 'don't let them draw blood' and I assumed that their mindset was slightly higher then your avrage bull but seeing as I have no clue how they attack or defend I had to go with basics on their fighting styles sweatdrop

(((Oh come on Jan use your imagination, besides I am most certain that you will learn more than enough about them when we start the next saga. So don't worry yourself so much with it now.)))
"Azrielle, what are..." Issildia's surprise at his appearance was cut short as Sin cried out to them; one of the Dalion beasts now charging at him. She turned back to who she had thought a fallen comrade for a brief moment of unspoken thanks before her form suddenly faded into the shadows.
Issildia reappeared beside Sin with an unreadable expression adorning her face. "I'll deal with the beast, just get the others out." she ordered flatly.
Without waiting for a reply she left him there to aid the others in retreating.
The Dalion beast slowed slightly in its charge as Issildia stoically approached it with blade in hand.
As soon as the beast neared Issildia's position, she swiftly lunged forward, her blade Nyththirren held out to her right in a horizontal fashion, catching the beast on the side leaving a gash along the length of its body. Yet the creature seemed un-phased by this and quickly rounded on her. Using her relatively uninjured left arm Issildia leapt into a one handed back handspring to land a hair's breadth from the Daliontra as it swept by. Quickly she drew a kunai knife from its sheath, then without any verbal prompting a white flame surrounded the small blade. Immediately Issildia launched the kunai at her opponent, the white fire that surrounded the blade burning the flesh of the beast as the knife made contact.
When the Daliontra faltered in its step from the wound that the kunai dealt Issildia lunged forward, her eyes burning with bitter intent as she buried Nyththirren nearly up to the hilt into the creature's torso where she could deal the most damage to the beast's organs and other vital areas.
As the Dalion beast fell the remaining creatures were closing in on Issildia. She had no intention on fighting them all so she turned her attention to shielding herself from the spell that Sin was preparing to cast.
"Vara tel' taurninin" she muttered under her breath in preparation to shield herself from Sin's attack. As brief shudder passed through the air in response to the energy being manipulated around her Issildia looked to Sin, signaling him to release the spell that he had prepared.
