I gotta admit, I may loathe the concept of sitting in church and having to be subject to all of thier screwy rules, that REALLY cramp my style... Like fasting for some deal I SHOULDN'T care about, and coming in at around 8 or nine in the morning...
The people there are friendly to me, regardless of how much I brush it off.
I can tolerate being in their company to an extent.
...As long as it's nowhere near that PLACE, and they don't ask me to take part in anything uncool.

Orphie Look, I dislike religion. There's no way around it. As soon as I hear the word, I cringe. You would too if you knew what goes on in this hell hole. Ugh. Alright, I don't want to make you uncomfortable and if you don't want me to talk I am not gonna force you to listen (That is part of the problem.) I just hate stereotyping and hating on people because they are different.

I suppose that I dislike religion because of the closed-mindedness of the people around me, which has warped my perspective on any sort of religion.

Hows about we just agree to say that religion is for some, and those who accept it have their reasons, wether it be to believe in a higher power, out of fear, out of conformity, out of a cry for help and there is no one else to turn to, or even someone who is looking for a purpose in life. I personally beleive in my religion for the sake of both my upbringing on morals and behavior, and my longing for a purpose in this world. We all have one, and I have mine. Religion is an outlet and hope for some whereas to others it is a hindrance to advancement of society and worldly togetherness by creating one more thing the world hates each other for.

Oh my god I know how you feel about closed mindedness! That pisses me off so bad. No wonder you hate it so bad.

Christian. I may love my religion, and in some cases we are encouraged to spread the word, but I dont do that directly. Theres a difference b/w pressure and encouragement. Some zealot Assholes just push the border which makes the rest of us look bad in the public eye.

I know this girl who recently converted (I'm not sure what church it is), but she's so OVERWHELMINGLY obsessive, it's not even funny. Apparently God "speaks" to her and told her that she can't be with this guy she's head over heels for, and all the people at the church say that she has to throw away her old life and start anew.
Of course, this girl is also a bit of a nutcase, but still. That is how almost everyone in my community is, except they're raised like this from birth.

Those are "The Saved". Stay the ******** away from them. A couple of my aunts got "Saved" and drove my crazy dad to suicide. Get out of there fast.

I feel kinda bad for you that you couldn't at least see what normal religion is, and then decide for yourself.

I find that absolutely hilarious. I'd just say something along the lines of, "FREEDOM OF SPEECH, b***h."
