Clarissa heaves a sigh of relief as the dream slips away and she is standing with her Warder actually knowing what was going on.
"Thank the Creator that worked. Do you typicly dream of killing shadow spawn with a pickle? Wait a minute thats not important."

She said remembering why she had come. She sighs and then continues.
"Where are you what is going on? You went from sending calming thoughts to fighting in close to ten minutes! Remember the promise you made me and keep it."
She spoke with a high level of aggression in her voice obviously meaning her words. Her brows were tight with worry.

Kakashi laughed and grinned as Skiiy walked away. "Of course I wouldnt do that." He laughed a bit again then sighed and began heading for his own room. He was suddenly feeling the tiredness from his nonstop training for the last couple hours. He was soon in his room and falling face first onto his bed. He was out in seconds.

"I didn't think you did since you didn't move toward one. Don't worry, I'll get you a really nice horse. One that is easy to handle too."

Katerine finished with the last strap on Releran and left him in his stall. Most of the horses in here belonged to an Aes Sedai or her warder, but a few were just there in case someone needed one. Walking down the line, Katerine tried to find a horse that was strong like Releran, but probably not as spirited. Releran had a tendency to rear up. After a few minutes of glancing at the various horses, Katerine moved to saddle a chestnut. This one was bigger than Releran, but looked strong and healthy. He also gave off a nice demeanor.

"Skiiy, come look at this one. He seems to be nice and well trained."

Katerine took the horse of his stall and walked it toward Skiiy. She didn't know his riding abilities, but they probably weren't that strong. If her hunch was correct though, this particular horse would be quite tame and only needed nudging to go in a direction.

Skiiy walks on over to the horse and looks it straight in the eye. It didn't seem to be particularly rebellious, and in fact, quite calm. He'd riden before, though not too many horses, and most of the times, the beast he was riding could be quite...untame. This one seemed like it'd give a smooth ride, though he didn't doubt it could put out a lot of work if it wanted to. "You remind me of someone...I'll call you Ligan." Bowing to the horse, Skiiy steps back, then leaps lithely off of the ground and onto the horses back, landing neatly in the saddle. He looks at Katerine with a sarcastic smile. "I would'a tried a flip, but I probably would smacked the poor thing with my head. I've never traveled through a gateway before, and I can't make'em, so it's your move boss."

Mog's face flushed slightly as he was reminded of what he had been dreaming of when Clarissa jumped in and was swept into it. It embarassed him, but it was not like he was Dreamer. He had no control over whatever his mind did while he was consciously unaware.

"I-..uh. That is to say... I don't know.", he smiled, ruefully.

"I, typically, don't remember my dreams. This is the first time I've even known a dream. As to where I am.."
, For the first time since she had met him, her Warder appeared to be hesitant and a little uneasy in what he was about to tell her.

Taking a deep breath, he launched into the tale, leaving out not the slightest detail in his easy entrapment and capture, except that he had been cut by the Myrdraal's black blade. He looked downcast and upset at his failure of her. Finishing, he said,

"I was allowed in, it was a trap all along. If anyone were foolish enough to try and rescue me, they would be capture, or as is more likely, killed outright. This is the heart of the Dark One's territory and I should've known better than to try and invade it. I have failed you, Clarissa Aes Sedai. I am sorry. I will do all in my power to try and escape, but do NOT try and have me rescued, there is already the corpses of an Aes Sedai and her Warder here showing that doing such is doomed to failure."

Yurin had never felt so disheartened in his whole life than from the look that the Amyrlin was giving him. He felt foolish and bullheaded for being in his current state, and knew that if he felt her trying to to do any such thing as attempting to save him, he would act with everything in his power to prevent it.. Even if that meant beginning a fight that would ultimately end in his death. He couldn't allow the Mother to place herself in that kind of danger over a mere Warder. He wished there was some way that he could get word to the Lord Dragon, he knew there had to be some way that he could help. He always had a way of getting things done.

Katerine moved toward Releran while Skiiy looked at the horse. She turned around just in time to see him jump into the horse's saddle without any troubles. Shock flooded her thoughts, but it didn't show on her face. Amusement was soon to follow and she gave a little laugh. Katerine then gracefully mounted her own horse and turned him toward the stable door. She waited for Skiiy to follow before she opened a gateway. The other side showed a rocky terrain with a slightly chilly wind that blew through. It was desolate and it appeared that no foot had ever crossed that ground.

Motioning for Skiiy to go first, Katerine followed him and then shut the gateway. Although there seemed to be no indication as to where they were, Katerine prodded Releran through the trees. Not really worried of running into anything, Katerine spoke over her shoulder to Skiiy.

"It is only about an hour's ride there. I just don't like to appear in the city because of the Shadow's presence. Also, you don't have to call me 'Boss'. Katy or Kat is fine. Katerine if you really feel uncomfortable."

Skiiy had been through any number of portals in his lifetime, and this one was no different, but he still feels uneasy going through this one. He shivers a bit as he passes through, but he starts feeling good after he gets into the countryside. This was his kind of place, cause the city was nice, but he was at his best when traveling and on a job. He turns to Katerine.

"Alright, sorry, just, I've always seen Aes Sedai as kinda high up, feel I should show proper respect. I'll call you Kat, I like that one. I don't like firing myself off into a dangerous situation either, but since we're kind of a ways from the city, what'dya say we get ourselves moving?" Skiiy motions for her to lead the way, since he still didn't know their destination's location.

He's in Shayol Ghul! The bull headed bloody man. She thought. Her eyes glittering with sadness, despair and anger. She clenched her fists and glared at him. Tears forming in her eyes a lump in her throat.
"You promise me to try never to make me go through a Warder dying again and then in the very same day risk your life and go to Shayol Ghul. Why did you do this with no regard to your own personal safety? No thought for how this would make me feel? You did not think for one bloody second it might be a trap. Death would not be a proper punishment for this. But I do not wish you death. I will try and save you but not in the bullheaded stupid way you tried to save the boy"
Her mind started despertly trying to find a way to save him, and new words to curse him with. She would save him and then he would feel the wrath of her anger but she must withhold it now. No one ever saved anyone with a heart full of anger without a cool mind.

Katerine smiled and headed off into the forest. It was amusing to her that Skiiy would call her boss, but it seemed so formal to her. Besides, she didn't want to be considered the only one with power. Knowing how often she had come to being killed, Katerine knew that at some point Skiiy would be her equal if not the leader.

For a distance through the forest, Katerine was silent, almost lost in her thoughts. Events that had happened were starting to line up into connections, but there were still missing pieces. It always seemed that when she thought she was close to figuring out the puzzle, something else arose that dashed her hopes.

I need to try Foretelling again. All the ones right now have been pointless. I need one that actually tells me something.

Still lost in her thoughts, the forest finally gave way to a small valley. In the center lay a large city with white buildings that sparkled in the sun. Finally a road was seen leading down to the city. Katerine paused on the higher ground and looked to Skiiy.

"Well, there it is. The nameless city. I tend to stick to the outer sections of the place when I am there. All of it seems like it was stuck in time though. Nothing is decayed or rotten. There is an inn that I normally stay in while here."

Letting Skiiy get a final look from above, Katerine started down the road toward the city. As they came closer, it was possible to tell that many of the buildings were three stories and the gates were huge. Going through one of these gates, Katerine immediately put her guard up. The presence of the Shadow was there, but it was weak. This really didn't bother her too much for it was less than the last time Katerine had been at the city. She just didn't want to get caught unaware.

Once through the gates, Katerine directed Releran to a building off on the right of the small square. The sign declared the place The Dancing Lady, but she had not the slightest clue as to when the place would have last had patrons. Like many of the buildings in the town, this one had the three circle symbol. It made her feel safe for some reason. Katerine went around the back of the building and jumped out of Releran's saddle. She tied the horse near the back door.

"Well this is where I normally stay. It's close to the edge of the city, but this road runs clear through it, so it's easy to get to any place."

Skiiy nods to himself as he follows Katerine. Inside of his head, his thoughts are all business as he tries to figure out how best to use his new awareness. Normally, at this point, he'd be trying to feel out how Katerine felt about him, for he didn't want to offend or disappoint, plus he'd need to be watching her to protect her. However, he can now feel her. FEEL HER!!! It was simply amazing, and so he only needed to pay attention to that bundle of emotion in the back of his head, and could turn a lot more of his focus to watching their surrounding environment for any signs of danger.

As they reach the city, Skiiy is quite undaunted by its majesty, though the fact that it does not look aged at all irks him a bit. He'd seen plenty of ruins, but this was just plain strange. It was almost as if it was being upkept by something...

Skiiy shakes out the thoughts and follows Katerine down to the city. She leads the way to an inn, and dismounts ahead of him with a lithe jump. As Skiiy attempts to imitate the movement, his foot catches in the harness, and he soons finds himself flat on the ground with an aching head. He stands up quickly, hoping Katerine hadn't seen, but he also knew she'd know something had happened.

Katerine was fiddling with Releran's saddle and took it off. While she was doing this though, she felt the small bundle that was Skiiy giving off some pain. Her back was to him, so she didn't know what had happened even though she had heard the thump. Putting the saddle down, Katerine turned around to find Skiiy quickly rising from the ground. A slight look of amuzement crossed her face and she gave a little giggle that turned into a broad smile.

"Are you alright? Meeting the ground in that fashion is not the most comfortable way."

She walked near him and checked his head for bumps or bruises. Somehow she knew that the bond would have told her if he had sustained any injuries, but Katerine wanted to be sure. Satisfied that he was okay, Katerine moved his horse and unsaddled the animal. Tying the horses up next to each other near the door, she took her saddlebags and went inside. The sunlight made it possible to see without candles and Katerine headed for the second floor. All the rooms were there and all of them had really comfortable beds. The first room on the left though was the best and she put her bags in there. Skiiy had followed her, and Katerine turned around to look at him.

"You can choose which room you want. All of them have comfortable beds. Once you decide that, we can see what we can find out before dark. It is not safe to be out once the sun goes down here."

Skiiy feels just the slightest bit embarrased by his clumsiness, but he knows that Katerine isn't judging him by it. He follows Katerine upstairs, still feeling uneasy about the city. He knows something isn't right, but surely Katerine would know if something really weird was going on. However, she had said she hadn't been into the center of the city, so chances were, if they were going to find anything, it'd be there.

He gives her the most serious of looks when she tells him that he may choose any room he wants. "I think that I must stay in here with you Kat, I'm here to protect you, it wouldn't do to have you attacked and have me stuck in another room dealing with a planned distraction. I'll be sleeping on the floor, in front of the door, so that I'll be here if anything happens." Skiiy drops his small bag next to the door, then sits down and waits for Katerine to get settled in.

Katerine put her saddlebags on the bed and turned around to face Skiiy. She understood his reasoning, but it was definitely going to be a new experience. Years spent watching herself suddenly were changed to being watched by a warder. Katerine didn't complain though, it was nice to be able to relax her guard a little.

"Well in that case, we should at least find you a pallet. I hardly think it is enjoyable to sleep on a hard floor. There's probably one in a storage closet."

Turning around, Katerine took out only a few things from her saddlebags. She never knew when she was going to have to get up and leave so it was easier just to keep everything packed. With that done, she sat down on the bed. An idea had just crossed her mind that might help in their search.

"Since we don't know what we are looking for, I'm going to see if I will have a Foretelling. I have to put myself into a trance that won't allow me to move though. If something happens, squeeze my shoulder. It should be fine though because I don't sense any distinct Shadowspawn. You will be able to tell if any show up though."

Katerine waited to make sure that Skiiy understood and if he had any questions, she could answer them. Most people didn't realize she was capable of putting herself in a trance. She was concerned about Skiiy's thoughts of him being the only thing between her and any thing that might happen.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 03, 2005 2:50 pm

"Don't worry, I've taken care of things on my end." Skiiy grabs his pack, and unloads all of the stuff from it onto the floor, and then unzips it all the way. It unzips into a flat, slightly comforatble pad to sleep on. "See, I think ahead, and make things like this up so that I'll have all sides covered."

Skiiy listens closely as she explains about her trance and the Fortelling. He cannot go into a trance himself, but he'd had friends that could in the past. As she mentions the Shadowspawn, knoweledge he'd collected suddenly brings itself to the surface of his mind. "Hey, I just remembered, being a Warder changes a couple of things doesn't it? Can't they sense Shadowspawn, and don't they heal faster? Wow, I didn't even consider those points...Well, my only concerns are on what danger you are in mentally, I can take care of anything out here that comes up, for all opponents will feel the fury of my blade. However, I can't do anything to help you out in your own mind...After all, I've heard of people here being hurt in their dreams..."

Feeling the intense sadness transmit over the bond in a downpour and the slack in her Aes Sedai calm as she glared at him in anger that poured through with almost equal force, Yurin knew how upset at him she was. Her emotions leaked through the bond affecting him and multiplying the feelings he was already having, their emotions were feeding off one another and making them both angrier and sadder than they otherwise would have. Mog was silent momentarily, trying to keep control of his own emotions so that the torrent would, at the very least, slow. Taking a deep breath, he replied to her in a cool, even voice that was far from how he truly felt.

"Clarissa, if you think that I would have allowed myself to be captured in anything even resembling a trap, you are sadly mistaken." He was utterly calm, none of his anger or disappointment in himself showed in the slightest.

In a slightly elevated tone,
"Please explain to me how I was to have even the slightest inkling that this child was so much more than he seemed? True, I allowed my loathing and hatred of Shadowspawn and my desire to protect an innocent to overcome my natural caution, but really, can you truly disparage my intentions or my quick actions? I had no idea what their intentions toward the child would be, nor how quickly they would be initiating them. I had to act fast, or he was as good as dead.", His voice echoed across the crevasse they were now located in, the pleasant grass covered hills giving way to unforgiving granite, his immense blade was now imbedded in stone.

He was forced to pause while his loud voice reverberated back to them so intense that anything further he said would be eclipsed by it, but he was not yelling. Just elevating his voice a little, for emphasis.

"Of course I gave thought to you! You are eternally in my thoughts and mind. But I couldn't allow the Shadow to have something that they were so desperate to have that they would enter Tar Valon in the middle of the day to have! I know I made a mistake. When I return you are more than welcome to berate and beat me within an inch of my life, however, currently I am too far removed from you for your yelling at me now to make any sort of difference!"

They were both forced to cover their ears as his roaring voice came back at them. Okay. Now, he was yelling. Taking a deep breath, he tried to feed his emotions and the constant stream of hers into the Flame of the Void, but he was so angry at himself that he couldn't make it accept all of it, there was too much being generated from two sources. Heaving a sigh, he gave over and accepted the feelings. Surprised, he felt them immediately lessen. Apparently all he had need of doing was accept them.

"Forgive me, Mother. I never had any intention of placing you in the same precarious position that you have only just now recovered from. Also, I apologize for yelling. I'm just- I'm so... disappointed in myself. I have failed myself and may lose my life from it, and worse, I have put you in danger of being in immense pain. I-..I have failed you."

Mog lowered his head in shame. He had never so thouroughly been disgusted with himself as he was at this moment. He had been berated by a woman before, but never with such cause when he was so completely at fault. He considered informing the Amyrlin of the injury he had taken, but knew that that would send her into immediate, perhaps foolish, action over him that would result in disaster, and that he would not allow.

Falling silent, his quick mind raced over possibilities, discarding them almost as quick as they came as flaws were immediately apparent. How was he to work himself out of this predicament? Whatever his escape plans, he had to take that little brat's life with him. Whatever his appearance, he was no child, and if he was commanding the Eyeless with such an imperious attitude, he was important to the Dark One, and therefore, had to die. Even at the cause of pain to Clarissa, he would cripple the Dark One in any way he was able.
