a flugel horn is just shaped differently to a trumpet. it is still in B flat. I have: a very old trumpet, not sure what it is probably bach. a newish trumpet (4 years old) which is a James Morrison Yamaha. I also have a cornet which is very old, and that im holding onto because of the sentimental value. Why does everyone use a 5-7c? They are originally for C trumpets. Its better to have a 14B or similar. Thats what mine came with anyway.

Although Bach's sizes note a "C" at the end, they're generally the usual sizes given with their B-flat trumpets. My usual's a Monette B3, the equivalent to a Bach 1.5C, but for B-flat trumpets only. I love it, too! Anyone else have a Yamaha Xeno, the beautiful Japanese masterpiece that's as good (if not better) than the Bach Strad for only half the price?

Hey, this might be a random question that's not really related to what you're talking about now, but does a silver trumpet have a laquer polish? I bought a maintenance kit, and I'm afraid the polishing cloth might not be suitable for the silver trumpet.
Thanks!

Lord Quid I can't wait, soon I'll get to play Mangione music, and i'm also arranging Hey Jude, with a solo for, what else but a trumpet Lol, no way! We had the Beatles as our theme for my marching show this year. I was gonna play the Hey Jude Solo that we have in it, but my director gave it to a trombone that she favors. *grumbles*
Aw! You too? One of my trumpets did that to me in my sophomore year. But, that's right- the band takes precedence. You get more experience, too! wink Learn as many instruments as you can!

I just got switched to first chair Bebe! *does a jig* I'm so happy. I used to be like fifth chair until my band teacher realized I was the best one. Plus, I'm the only female trumpet (that explains a lot) he he. And I'm right next to my buddy, which is great! I feel so good right now!
