- I have a few questions for you, boss man!
Can you go more indepth with the advancements in technology, or~ Do I have full power to do what I will?
Also, what wars happened in the past thousand years?? Aside from the alien thing.
What kinda businesses are going on? Who has a monopoly on what? SO on so forth.
What are the current events going on? Aside, again, from the alien tech thing.
And finally.... how's the political standing between the countries in the world at this moment? Any ill will? Allies? Whatnot?
Sorry if these questions are odd, or are answered somewhere. I was just thinking about these things today while dicking around. <3
Okay. So, when it comes to technological advancements, if you think that in a super-advanced society, where people can regenerate cells and CREATE matter, that whatever you are thinking of could exist--you are probably right. However, if you are unsure if you could make it fly, then just ask me, and I will approve or deny it. ;P
Really, the past thousand years, there was a global era of non-confrontation. Humanity set up an organization with members of every country--created a global currency--and also a global task force signed under one non-aligned military force. They were tasked with the job of maintaining peace through fear--in a way. If war every broke out, they had world-wide funding to essentially equip themselves with whatever it took to suppress the war at hand. If they needed people--they had the best trained military members from any worldwide organization. If they needed weaponry, they had the best weaponry at the world's disposal. If there was a threat of war or international conflict, it was shut down by the United Forces.
The United Forces still exists in the world--outposts throughout the cities and the outside world. However, their outposts in the outside are very limited, as they can not kill A.I. Cores. Only baiters can.
However, during this era of non-conflict, while the world stood united, it did not mean there was no bad blood between countries. Wars still threatened to break out, there was still civil unrest, and there were a few revolutions that tried to overthrow this new united world order. Religion still exists, though due to the United Forces, religious conflict was condemned under the same pretexts as war, and after a few religious disputes were shut down in the same way that war was, they slowly began to become little more than hushed words against the other religions between them, instead of full out conflict. It was a relatively peaceful time in the world, and by the beginning of the 30th century, humanity was on the brink of the technology to travel to / create colonies on other planets. Though, before the Ark crashed, they did not have the technology perfected.
After the world went to hell, B.A.I.T.R obviously has the monopoly on world security. United Forces is still looked at to be a large, and powerful, military force. But B.A.I.T.R's funding and strength, along with being the only people who can save the world from the threat it is undergoing, is the biggest corporation in the world.
Syntax Electronics has the monopoly on personal electronics within the world--and they are the prime electronics sales throughout all of the cities, as transporting products through teleportation creates very simple global distributing. This company was created by merging Microsoft, Sony, Apple, and Alphabet (owner of Google). Syntax covers almost anything electronic you will find in the world.
GFDA has the monopoly on all pharmaceuticals, as well as foods produced for the new world. In this time, they manufacture all edibles and all drugs in the world that are not home grown. They have been sued many times for mistakes with their manufactured "fake" foods and drugs, there had been high demand for organic foods to be made more readily available, though it is almost impossible to do so until some sort of protected farms can be created outside the walls. all restaurants / large food corporations will get their stock from these guys.
World Growth Organization is the leader in the world in utilization of the matter generation for building supplies, or advancements in making cities larger / safer. Construction / contracting all falls on these folks. They are the people who keep the cities standing, even though Baiter protects their walls. There are two things that have been made illegal to create with these methods: People and Precious materials such as Diamonds, Gold, Gemstones, and things of this nature.
As for world events that are currently taking place--if you look at the city pages, there are little snippets of different attributes of each place, though, aside from staving off the A.I. and attempting to survive, there are few thing happening in the way of world events. I am sure there could be things going on--hell, there should be--but I haven't thought too hard into that. Perhaps with some help we could brainstorm this. @__@
Due to the united front, there is little in the way of international conflict. Australia is looked at a little sourly by most continents except for Africa, as they stand at an even standing in wealth. People feel as though Australians are spoiled and cocky. They are the "upper class" that seems to look down on the rest of the world. Though, of course, not everyone who lives there adopts this way of thinking.
Africa, being one of the wealthiest continents shares this sort of view from most countries, though they have worked very hard for what they have, and they labour endlessly to mine the gems and rare metals from their sands. This hard labour makes a lot of the other continents look at them with less of a harsh view--knowing they worked for the status they have.
Asia and Europe are close allies, as they have shared interest in a healthier--more organic future. Though they know they can not house their populace and protect it without the technology they currently have--they want to create and expand into massive organic food growth sectors--one of which was already created by Lidia and Francois Belgarde -- Acel's Grandparents. Though it was attacked and compromised when they died. More of these greenhouses have been requested by these two countries to eliminate the "fake" foods and medicines currently in use. This has caused North America, and their close allies, South America, to be upset, due to the "GFDA" being based in North America and the threat of the people losing faith in them and their products.
As for Salary, you essentially have everything you will ever need completely free. If you ever need funding for any sort of purpose, all you have to do is request funds from the organization and they will give you pre-loaded cards to utilize, or sums of cash to pay for whatever it is you need that you can't get directly from the Baiter bases.
