He would've been fired, on the spot, if he said that in front of me and management. uu;;; emotion_brofist emotion_hug =^_^=
OMG. This week has been such a s***show. Darn guy filed a complaint to HR about the team being unwilling to properly train him and the work environment being hostile. He's been out of the office for the last 2 and half days cause HR has to get our side of the story and document everything/go through their due diligence process. So now, not only do I have to get my work done ahead of time in preparation for vacation, but I also have to cover for him, and have discussions with my manager, controller, and HR about what's going on between him and the team. ARGH! My manager told him we were going to start formally tracking his training/progress cause he kept saying he wasn't getting enough training even though I've sat with him many times the past 2 months and my manager and even 2 of my coworkers have tried to train/help him. I guess the guy got all defensive and went to HR cause he knew things weren't working and he might get fired but was unwilling to give up his paycheck even though he didn't put in effort to learn and he's still on probation. I wish he'll just quit instead of making all this extra work and causing trouble at the office. It sucks when he acts like he's the victim when in reality he's the problem.

Yea, I know...maybe I should bring that up with HR....I forgot to mention it to my controller. Anyways, going to a Japanese festival today and wearing my summer kimono and I also have a family dinner in the evening. I'm going to enjoy myself and try not to think about all the s*** happening at work because of the new guy.

I went to a street festival yesterday, and all I got as a result of wearing ill fitting shoes and walking through puddles are blisters on my big toes from all the chafing.

I had so much fun. This year we did a sake tasting while we were at the festival and the lady who sold me my summer kimono surprisingly remembered me from last year when I visited her booth again. And there was so much good food at the family dinner. My mom made this really pretty cold plate (cured meat, savory mixed vegetable gelatin, and egg tofu topped with fish roe) and everyone was taking pictures of it haha. My cousins and siblings watched the Olympics together while playing with the babies.

I didn't get enough sleep last night cause our friend from Australia called so late to work out plans for our trip and I had a meeting today. Luckily, there were only minor mistakes so no one noticed but it was a pain to reprint the reports and get people to re-approve them.

Ugh, woke up late and this time couldn't get into work on time. Ended up working through most of my lunch and skipping my morning break in order to keep up with all the work. And HR interviewed me today but I didn't get a chance to bring up the guy's attitude problem because we were discussing certain instances/examples. Apparently, he didn't just complain about my manager/team but also made a direct complaint against me. It's so upsetting. It's unfair for him to blame me when he's frustrated with not learning the work since he doesn't put in effort and then go on to also twist everything into a negative when I do try to talk to him/help him. I guess he went to HR since he knew my manager was thinking of firing him rather than taking his side against me; just like a kid throwing a tantrum when things don't work out his way and tattle-telling to an adult about it instead of reflecting on how he interprets things/his actions affects the people around him.
