Ok, I've touched it up a bit.  I decided to make a Seph edit because I had just watched an AMV whee and also because I have seen many bad Sephiroth edits and wanted to prove I could do better sweatdrop whee

Since I was having no luck on Sephy's hair, I thought I'd do someone else.  whee *cringes at the tail, which as it turns out, was added as an after-though. Also cringes slightly at the hair. Hair is evil. I'll have to only edit bald people* gonk EDIT: *hugs the boots heart * EDIT 2: does the pose look Ok? EDIT 3 gonk :I've sorted out his shoulder, it looked a bit odd... xp

gonk April fools, I'm more sensible than that..... xp
Anyway, I think the way I did the hair on Zidane was a lot easier than Sephiroth. It looks kinda better as well. Still, bald would be the best option for me.

Two new edits!  Above is Talith, one of Dias Amastacia's D&D characters. Talith is an elf of the Daggerspell Guardians; specifically, he is a Daggerspell Mage. No reference picture, sorry.  And Lulu, from FF10. I've never played FF10, or any other FF game for that matter. This was my half of a trade.

Interesting adjustments there, charity. I think you've done a great job with shading it. Only a few things I can think to point out for you. The lightsource for gaian avatars is similar to sunlight, it basically points down at the outward facing shoulder. (See Fig. 1.1)
Your shading on the skirt could do with a litttle work. More colours should be used to make the transition between highlight, ambient and shadow smoother. I find also that it helps round an object off if you head back to shadow on the edges after the highlight. (See Fig. 2.1)
You might also like to consider the way a dress might flow and fold in light wind or just hanging naturally. Adding folds to material stops it from looking starched and like a board.
Over all, you've done a really good job for someone so new to it.
What IS the mark on her head, by the way? do you have a reference pic you could show us?
