~Window~

[Devil's Bayou::Into the Swamp]

Those who followed Window fell into a line, sloshing through the mire. Rasxa came hurrying behind, nearly slipping. "Sorry! I was not sure if you remained decided in your choice of direction after we continued discussions. But I think you for your company," Window apologized. A few seconds of silence fell between them, save for their noisy tromping around. Internally, he bemoaned the soiling of his new clothes as they became soaked with the mud and dirty water of the swamp.

Right! He was supposed to be finding out some more information about his companions, wasn't he? "So...for what length of time have you been traveling?" Window asked to whoever was with him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The little girl continued to run deeper into the swamp, her breath shallow. Far off, between the tangle of the branches and vines, she thought she could see a light, faint and twinkling. It was probably just her imagination, but she headed toward it. Maybe it was someone coming to rescue her! It was a small hope, dim and flickering like the light she might be looking at, but it was still there.
Please, let it be help.
Behind her, the two alligators slipped into the swamp water, following her scent and her bright heart as she raced deeper into the bayou.
[Rasxa, Raz, do you mind landing Bianca and Bernard? The alligators need to pass by the two mice eventually right after they catch Penny, so Bianca and Bernard can follow them to the ship and then go back to get help from the others.]
Thales was quick to follow the others through the door and into the next room, but he came to a screeching halt upon noticing the roomful of yellow beady eyes. "This isn't good," the monk grunted through bared teeth as he once again took a defensive stance, preparing to fend off the barrage of Heartless.
It were times like these Thales wished he was capable of doing more than swinging a stick such as casting a spell or two like the Moogle.
Krad followed close behind Rasxa and Window, wiping off whatever mud was left on his face with his scarf. The scarf covered the annoyed expression on Dark's face on account of Rasxa's presence. He was hoping to use this opportunity to gather more information on Window, but it wouldn't hurt to get to know more of the crew.
"Not very long," Krad finally said, wiping away more mud. "I left Agrabah a little while ago. Ended up in Traverse Town and then ran into you guys." He paused, then laughed. "Well, I guess I fell into you guys."
Life is an Illusion, Therefore, We all Believe the Same Lie
~Devil's Bayou~
Rasxa nodded, knowing that a your welcome, was in order, but he was a bit breathless at that moment. "So... for what length of time have you been traveling?" Window asked of the two who were behind him. Krad answered first. Krad had an annoyed air about him, one that was probably because of Rasxa's presence. "Not very long, I left Agrabah a little while ago. Ended up in Traverse Town and then ran into you guys." He paused there and started to laugh. "Well, I guess I fell into you guys." Rasxa didn't laugh. "I've been traveling too long, it seems. Ever since the fall and the arrival of the Heartless I've been searching for them. They have to be out there somewhere." He said, his tone of utter sadness. I know I can't truly get them back, but... I can try!" He thought fiercely.
~Devil's Bayou--> Small House~
Landing in the water, The great bird sighed in relief. So did Bernard, he didn't like flying. Has he always been this superstitious? Bianca thought as she climbed off the bird and onto the small stretch of land. "Bernard, come on, let's go ask them if they have seen Penny!" She called up to him, her soft Russian accent making her voice seem quieter than it actually was. She ran up to the house without waiting for him. One of the occupants of the house was out on the porch watching the going-on's in front of her house. "Well all be. It seems like we have some visitors." She said, kindly smiling at Bianca and the tired out Bernard. "Excuse me, but have you seen a girl named Penny? She sent a bottle to the rescuers asking for help." Bianca asked while Bernard fervently nodded, still trying to catch his breath. "You mean that poor girl living up there with that nasty women? Yes. Evanrude! Evanrude some people want to travel through the swamp." She called down to a small dock off of the little island where a leaf and a dragonfly sat. The dragonfly, who seemed to be named Evanrude, woke up with a start. "Miss Bianca..." Bernard trailed off when he realized that the albatross had already taken off for home. "Thank you!" Bianca said as she ran over to the leaf-boat, Bernard hurrying after her to help her into it.
Dark's eyes narrowed at Rasxa. What did he mean by "they?" He couldn't be referring to the Heartless, since they're crawling all over the place. It had to be something else. Maybe he's searching for magical items. Or perhaps... Dark's eyes grew wide with interest. "He's searching for people." This put a smile on the older man's face.
Curiosity getting the best of him, Krad asked, innocently enough, "They? As in the Heartless? They're all over the place! I'm sure you're bound to run into them eventually. And when they show up, you and I will take 'em down!"
Rasxa narrowed his gaze at Krad. "Obviously, I am not searching for the Heartless. If anything, they will surely find us. No, I'm searching for my best friends. They were... lost in the fall of my home." He said gravely, making the topic even more serious than it seemed at the time.
"...."
[Gummi Ship: Devils Bayou]
....Everything started with nothing.
Finding reason in a purpose….
.... The first steps into the unknown
.... something amiss in the silence
As it would seem Nalo had an idea of where he was going, and appeared to be determined to go alone. This seemed curious to Youni, and quite illogical unless the individual held some kind of tactical advantage to splitting off from the group on his own.
There could only be a few reasons as to why Nalo would choose such an action. Either; one, staying with any one person would hinder his own performance, and two, Nalo possessed some kind of advantage in this circumstance. Perhaps both even?
As Window voiced that it was left up to those who remained tho choose who to go with, he proceeded on with Krad.
This also puzzled her. Why choose by preference? Wouldn’t it more prudent to split the group by diversity of skills so each group possessed a well rounded verity of members to handle different situations? Remembering the teachings received from Merlin and Leon, Youni assumed they would try to keep at least one magic user, one melee warrior and someone prolific in medical support. Did Window and Krad cover those necessities? What about Nalo?
Never mind that- everyone was already splitting off! Youni stared after Raxsa as he bolted off after the other two, leaving her with those left behind. To which she turned and said;
“…does Youni follow? Or stay?”
Of course she couldn’t choose. Choosing would mean Youni possessed a personal preference for company. As of yet such stirring in her own slowly developing consciousness was simply beyond the girls reach at the moment. So the only thing left to do was ask to see who needed her the most.
“This one possesses abilities favoring magical offensive defensive, supportive and sabitory (sp?) effects. Which is the most suitable grouping?”
He was right. Rasxa was, indeed, looking for others.
The glare and tone which the scythe-wielder responded in was definitely signs of suspicion. Dark wasn't doing as great of a job as he thought he was at hiding his true nature. It was time to pull out the big guns.
"At least there's a chance they're still alive...," said the man, his gazing falling to the muddy ground they walked on. His eyes began to glaze and redden as a thin layer of tears began to form, though Krad appeared to be desperately holding them back. "My family," he continued. "They were taken from me... Killed. Before my very eyes, their hearts were taken from them. I, uh... heh... I cou... I couldn't do anything..."
The man stopped. Though it had started off as a charade to eliminate suspicion, Krad found it difficult to continue pretending to feel sad and started to actually feel mournful sorrow. "I'm sorry," he said, sounding rather choked-up, his voice somewhat trembling. "It's, uh... not something I talk about often. You could imagine why..."
Krad clapped his hands together, forcing his mood to shift from sadness to happiness--something he did often when the memory of his family made it difficult for him to focus. "So, what exactly are we looking for? Just random scraps of, uh... ...gummi, was it?" he asked, sounding like his usually silly self again.
"At least there's a chance they're still alive..." He said, staring at the ground, his eyes beginning to water. "My family, they were taken from me... killed. Before my very eyes, their hearts were taken from them. I, uh... heh... I coul... I couldn't do anything..." He then suddenly stopped and Rasxa tilted his head a little bit. What's this feeling that I'm remembering just now? Is it sympathy? Krad began again, sounding choked up. "I'm sorry, it's, uh... not something I talk about often. You could imagine why..." Then he clapped his hands together and was happy again. "So, what exactly are we looking for? Just random scraps of, uh... Gummi, was it?" Rasxa narrowed his eyes in even more suspicion. There is something wrong with him, if he can snap back like that. Either he doesn't have his heart anymore or he was faking it. He thought while they started to continue to walk. "Unfortunately, your assumption that they could still be alive is incorrect. They weren't just lost in the fall... they were... taken." Rasxa said, his voice suddenly turning to one of icy calm, as if he had not truly felt any emotion at all in all his life. Which for Rasxa, was true.
{The gods themselves will tremble at our ascension...}
[Wonderland : The Bizarre Ruins]
Kyozuto looked upon Olum from underneath his hood and, without a word, slowly nodded his head in recognition.
Vereor smiled as Shade's body fell limp to the ground, blood soaking the ground. She was willing to kill. Yes, this was quite the asset...
"We shall leave her there as a warning," he announced, looking down and motioning for Fortuna to return up with them. "The others shall arrive soon enough. I would recommend concealing your identities to allow for suspicions later down the line, but that is up to you. So now... we wait."
{... and as we rise, the universe shall fall under our might.}
[ Narration ]
The separate groups, upon entering their nearest door, would have found themselves inside nondescript pockets of Darkness, within which Heartless spawned.
Their battles commenced, they fought to go forward, to see what lay ahead. And when all was said and done...
They would have found themselves entering the Bizarre Ruins. Specifically, they all appeared out of Corridors of Darkness at the front of the hall, and they would walk forward, nearing the massive cliff that erupted from the tiled ground. There, standing on high, they would see Vereor, his hood down and face lightly smiling, as well as whoever else waited within vision. Kyozuto remained behind, against the wall, waiting and unseen.
Shade's body, now beyond salvation, lay dead at the foot of the cliff.
"Welcome. Before things proceed, I shall say but one thing- do not become hostile. You'll find this hall... does not take kindly to such intentions."
Solaris
Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.
{Devil's Bayou}
Solaris was caught in a predicament, not sure which group to follow. Window certainly had enough people going with him, yet Nalo seemed like he would move much faster by himself. Which left him, Youni, and Enyb. So...what should he do? They could go looking for things, Enyb seemed to be good at finding things, or they could stay and watch the ship. That seemed like a good choice. He still wanted to read that manual...and if something came to the ship, they could fend it off. Hopefully. He still needed more time to recover after that last spell.
Moving back inside the ship, he quickly hurried to the console where he had left it and picked it up before hurrying back outside. He didn't want to spend more time in the death trap than necessary.
Sitting on the edge of the ship, he began pouring over the manual, a small light on his staff illuminating the pages clearly.
Kuroda
{Wonderland : The Tyrant's Court -> The Bizarre Ruins}
Stepping out of the Dark Corridor, Kuroda looked upon the cliff, shaking his head at the destruction that had occurred in the mad world. It was utterly disgusting, seeing how the Darkness could twist and destroy. With no more than a glance at the dead body, he focused his aim on the beings upon the cliff, focusing on the man talking.
"Shall I take it that you are responsible for distorting this world with Darkness? And if so, your name." If not for what the man had said earlier, Kuroda would have attacked already. It seemed clear that they were responsible for the destruction. But he would not recklessly charge in. Not when there were too many unknown factors.
”You can bend it and twist it… You can misuse and abuse it…
[Wonderland ~.~ Bizarre Ruins]
Upon entering the door, Thales found himself yet in another room. This room was long, and its walls were tainted in darkness themes. The furniture in the room--tables, chairs, plants--were pushed to the sides along the walls. Small torches of white energy illuminated the room. The last thing the boy noticed was a door high above the ground.
The monk's eyes slowly ascended the misplaced cliff that seemed to have erupted from beneath the checkered floor and rested upon the man who stood at the top, a small group of people standing beside and behind him.
"Who's that?" Thales whispered to Soryuju. Whoever he was, the Hellen could tell he'd be no ordinary foe, and with all the lackeys present, they'd be in for a treat.
Krad has been taking note of every out-of-the-ordinary expressions Rasxa expressed. His tone, his glares, and his overall body movement and attitude told the man the other was growing suspicious. There's no way he'd allow some kid blow his cover so soon. He had to be careful around Rasxa.
"I'm sorry to hear that," he finally said, concerned evident in his tone. "But what do you mean by 'taken?'"
Rasxa was getting a little more than suspicious. He was getting angry. Suddenly, a deathly calm came over him when Krad asked, "I'm sorry to hear that, but what do you mean by 'taken?'" His tone sounded sincerely concerned. "Their hearts were taken by the darkness... I'm searching for them... as well as a way to turn them back. I know there isn't away already possible, but I have got to try. My own heart doesn't matter... I don't need it anymore." Rasxa said, extremely emotionless. Swamp water was about up to Rasxa's shins by then. "Hey Window, how far do you want to end up going? It doesn't seem like we are..." He trailed off as he heard leaves rustling off somewhere to the right. What is it... a Heartless? He thought, holding his hand out to his side, summoning his scythe.
[Devil's Bayou ~.~ Deep Swamp]
"In a way," Krad thought, "his story is similar to mine."
The older man looked at Rasxa, sympathy evident in his eyes. "Don't give up," he told the boy. "You never know unless you try. It's only impossible if you think it is."
It was about that time he realized he, too, was about knee-deep into swamp water. "EEEE!" Krad shrieked, lifting his arms in the air and one leg out of the water as his body trembled. "Dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty," he repeated, tip-toeing through the swamp towards the others.
He had heard the rustling in the leaves behind him, but chose to play dumb and give it no attention. The older man, who was paying more attention to where he was stepping than what was in front of him, bumped into Rasxa who stood still with his scythe in hand. "Was it something I said?" Krad asked, referring to the boy's summoned weapon while pretending to be oblivious.
