You'll get there. razz
So... I got paid $125 for two hours of work the other night. Being a massage therapists is awesome. You're helping people AND getting paid for it. The guy and his wife have health problems. He has had surgery on his abdomen (they took out cancerous intestine) and so his back muscles are straining and she had surgery a long time ago and they took out one of her shoulder rotator muscles.
I got there, set up my table, put the fleece pads on, sheets, bolster pillow. He was in so much pain. sad He told me he's been in pain for a year. Constant, agonizing pain. (He keeps a bucket by the bed so when he wakes up at night from the pain and it makes him vomit, he doesn't make a mess.) He didn't know if he could lay on his stomach, so I told him I'd side line him if it was painful. He laid down and I could tell most of his muscles were atrophying. His back muscles kept spasming while I worked on them. They were trying to release.
When I turned him over to work on his chest he had tears in his eyes. I asked if I had been using too much pressure and he said no. It was perfect. That he was tearing up because for the first time in a year... he was pain free. He was upset because he had forgotten what it was like and dreaded the pain coming back.
When I was finished he thanked me and went to take a shower while I worked on his wife. During her session he called the dogs outside and took them for a WALK. I told him he should use pillows under his knees and under his ankles while he recuperates, it will help with the pain at night. When I left he thanked me. He felt a significant difference in pain when he laid down to watch tv with a pillow under his knees. Something the hospital didn't tell him...
I packed up my things and had told her on the phone they didn't need to give me anything. But they wanted to and discussed payment in their bedroom. She came out and gave me a $125 check. I wasn't as happy about the money as I was that I had helped them both and their sincere appreciation for my work showed itself in their generosity.

Wow I haven't been on here in forever. I guess that was because I had the flu all last week. Missed four days of school and am still trying to catch up. stressed I can't miss another day of school because then I won't get credit for English Comp. I. It's not fair we have it every day of the week it's not like in college when its only every other day. If you are sick for a week you only miss 2 or 3 days instead of 4 or 5. Less than 60 days left of high school though, I can't wait.

I could really appreciate some prayers to whatever gods ya'll worship right now. The grandpa I hang out with and talk to all the time is having surgery tomorrow--they're going to try and scrape off some of his tumor where his bladder used to be.
And on the other hand, I told my other grandparents that I was pagan and they're heartbroken--thinking I worship the devil or some s**t rolleyes . They went so far as to tell my aunt and uncle, and I'm not even sure if they'll let my cousins around me anymore. It's caused another rift between us and that particular side of the family. My grandfather on that side doesn't want me "contaminating" the other kids in the family and wishes he could do something about my sister, but realizes he can't.
Part of me thinks that they've only been around for crisis-es (however you spell the plural form...), birthdays, and Christmases because they're too busy burried in their work, so I don't really care if they don't talk to me for the rest of their lives anymore. But the other part realizes that they should at least still treat my family the same way, if not me.
Gods I need some help. Isn't Spring Break supposed to be fun?

You got my prayers to my Gods, LMK.
Sorry I haven't been here, guys. I haven't really been to any of the Guilds I'm in. Bad habit, I need to stop being lazy.
Muse, that's so amazing that you have such a wonderful job. its nice when people are truly thankful.
I have nothing negative to say about my life right now. I've slightly rearranged my room, and (while there is still a little bit of work to do) I feel amazing. Work is good, family is good, room will no longer be a mess. Everything is great.
Oh, there is one thing.
I miss Drew. Text me later, Drew, and if you want I'll give you a call.

biggrin I'm so happy. I got accepted to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute! I also passed my drivers test on Friday, so I have my license now, too. Had to go out and move logs before and my back hurts now but I don't care so much because everything for next year is falling into place.

If you want to have a gander at what some of the questions are like you can do a quick practice quiz I made here. <-----

I took the test thing and got 52% right, so with actually knowing the info must not have been too bad. Congrats though.
