Sai bolted out the door when he heard Tura's commands in his mind. Even as he cleared the entrance he released Stratus. Crimson light spilled from his binding stone and coalesced into the shape of the dragon. The light faded revealing Stratus with his brilliant blue plumage. Sai asked as he grabbed Kin by the wrist and pulled him along as he leapt astride Stratus back. Stratus responded as he thrust down hard with his wings, lifting them into the air. A few beats more and he had them ascending into the sky after Tura. Sai said to Stratus to which Stratus responded with a mental affirmative. Sai altered his telepathy to include all of his companions. Stratus finally caught up with the gryphon and matched pace. Sai only then noticed that the ebony feathered gryphon was short exactly one Vilya. He felt a jolt of fear shoot through him as he realized he did not know where his friend was, but he quickly quashed it with a wave of determination as he realized that the best thing he could do to help her was to do his very best to deflect this storm.

Vilya watched her companion go, pounding an unsteady fist on the shield with as much force as she could muster. "Tura! TURA!" It was useless she knew, but she threw herself against the barrier, all the pain, fear and anger the memories brought overflowing inside her. "Let me out!" she cried, but the howling of the wind drowned her shouts. Suddenly she was overcome with exhaustion, the cold staring to seep through her skin. She sank to the ground with her back against the shield, letting tears flow freely down her cheeks. Suddenly she was in two worlds; the storm roaring about her, with Tura, and the people she had to save, and another made of memories: In that world she glimpsed rows of bodies covered in white burial shrouds, and her parents' gaunt, pale faces as she was lead away as a child. She screwed her eyes shut, wishing for it to end but nothing could stop the flow of images.
Tura rose into the sky, fighting the winds that drove their target into the village. The spell would be simple, but the scale at which they would have to cast she knew would take all of her energy, the human mages would most definitely have more power than she. She tested the link carefully, shielding her own mind from Vilya's emotions which still whirled inside her with as much force as the storm around them. There was a long pause. The voice was broken, but inside Tura still heard the will to fight, strong and proud through the pain. the gryphon ignored her request. Again another silence, Tura felt anger seethe beneath their mind-link. Finally she answered; Vilya began,
Tura nodded, Vilya always had been the one with the strategies. She related the plan to the others. She could not see her companion, but knew she was watching.

Sai altered his telepathy to include all of his companions again. Without needing to be directed Stratus altered his flight pattern to bring them closer to the dark colored gryphon.
((Dammit, short post. But my response time was way better this time...))

Tura dipped closer to Kin and his companion. "We must hurry, and whatever you do, do not breathe in the miasma." ((Not much I can do yet either.))

(( I'm sorry. D: College has been DEATH ))
Kin nodded and swiftly jumped to Tura in mid-flight, but managed to take hold of Tura. "Don't force yourself. But keep what you see next to yourself." Kin whispered to Tura in a voice that was quite serious but strangely kind at the same time.

Tura's powerful wings fought the storm, pushing them closer to their target. It wasn't long before she reached the point where the spell would do the most harm to the billowing cloud. The wind howled in her ears, carefully she put up a shield around Kin and herself, protecting them from the miasma storm. Her voice echoed through all of their minds.
Vilya watched through gritted teeth, angry with herself, angry at Tura and angry that someone would dare attack a village of innocent people. Sudenly something caught her eye, a dark shape walking through the snow at the base of the cloud...
((Gah...short))

Sai gathered his magical energy and prepared his spell. "Ventas Phasmatis!" Sai yelled and exerted his energy, pouring it into the spell. He had thrust out his hand as he cast the spell, it made him feel as though he were more directly connected to the spell. The spell came to life along the right edge of the miasma. It started almost as a small dust devil, but quickly grew into a raging column of spiraling air. It was almost as though someone had taken a tornado and bolted it in place. While Sai poured the power in, to make sure to make it into a powerful whirlwind he still held himself back somewhat. He didn't want his end of the funnel to be too large and throw their balance off. He would wait until Tura and Kin's end was in place and then increase his power a little at a time, seeing if they followed suit.

Vix slithered up Kin's legs and wrapped around his arm on his right side. "Falx." Kin spoke quietly, Vix morphing into a long slender solid shape and into a well crafted scythe that had a sharp blade and then slowly became more jagged as it curved down the blade.
Kin swung the large scythe back, his body curved and twisted as he readied to lash his deadly weapon. Kin thought to Vix.
Vix hissed back in slight agreement.

((Really sorry, my cat is very sick, I've been giving her the vast majority of my attention that has not been put into midterms. Its a bit chaotic.))
The towers of air rushed around the cloud, sucking it up and pulling it away from the defenseless town. Tura cried. Suddenly something went wrong. The miasma began to envelope the wind spell, it coiled furiously upward and began to weaken the magic holding it. Tura fought back, pouring all the magic she could into the spell, trying to overpower whatever was happening, but the control over the miasma was strong and Tura felt the spell begin to break down.
The gryphon looked around wildly, but nowhere around the scene could she spot a caster. Just then she caught sight of a dark shape in the cloud. The miasma thinned, just for an instant as it swirled and Tura saw a man. His hands were held up and the silent utterings of his own spell spilled from his lips. He was the cause of it! He must be! Tura tried to muster a bit more power for another spell, something anything to disrupt their opponent, but if she gave even the slightest the wind spell they had woven would shatter and they would all be swept into the poison.

Sai had increased power into his end of the funnel to keep things balanced. He was consuming a lot of power but was not overly straining himself. He had a natural affinity for wind spells, so maintaining the funnel was not too much effort for him. Suddenly he heard Tura's voice in his head, telling him that there was a mage inside the miasma. Both Sai and Stratus immediately scanned the miasma and located the man within it. Stratus did not respond, but Sai suddenly felt a his reserves of energy, which had been draining away quite steadily, begin to flow the other direction, filling back up somewhat. Sai said and flung his left hand out towards the mage. "Levitas telum!" Sai poured his energy into the incantation and as soon as he completed it a bolt of blazing blue lightning burst from his extended palm and tore across the distance towards the mage within the miasma.

Kin sighed. "Alright its ready." Kin Swung Vix, which was the large scythe now, forward at the figure in the miasma. The area of the slash radiated a large visible power surge that appeared to be in the form of the scythe's swing that flew from the blade and at the unknown figure. The massive attack caused a huge gust of wind picking up miasma along with it as it passed it. The flying-power-like slash expanded and became larger as it flew at it's target.
"If he lives from that... He's a frickin monster..." Kin grunted then finished softly as he looked as if he were about to black out.

The attacks raced towards the figure in the cloud, who did not so much as flinch as both attacks hit a magical barrier. The magical rebound produced an echoing crack that nearly split the gryphon's ear drums. Both attacks pressed against the shield with incredible ferocity, but still it held firm.
Vilya punched the barrier again with such force she herd one of her knuckles snap. The pain tempered her anger just a little, but the attacks of her friends were dying out on the mage's magical shield and she was trapped! Wait...magical. Viyla looked for the source of the shield. The miasma was thick but the trail of light that lead from a magical artifact burned through it under the force of Sai and Kin's attacks. Tura had taught her what to look for, the way the light glinted, the shield was a magical barrier only, physical attacks could penetrate it. Vilya picked up one of her scimitars and aimed it carefully. The target was small, a pendant draped over the man's chest. Anything living Tura had said, that's what her barrier would keep in, but the scimitar wasn't bound by those rules. Vilya drew her arm back, pouring all her anger, all her pain and frustration into that one strike. The scimitar flew, spinning through the air as the miasma curled around the first houses of the village. It vanished into the thick cloud. Then silence. Vilya held her breath, in an instant a brilliant purple light flashed and there was an agonizing cry. The pendant had shattered and the shield fell in under the weight of the attacks it had until then kept at bay.
The cloud recoiled, pulled inwards and burst, the deep purple poison shifting to the harmless grey of a normal storm cloud. Vapour hissed about the spot where the man had been, clearing to reveal nothing.

Vix which was in the form of Kin's scythe now morphed back into his snake form and then unsummoned to Kin's binding stone within his gauntlet. Kin's eyes then began to slowly close we he fell into a deep daze and started to fall backward off Tura's back.

"That's it? Really?" Sai asked as he slumped forwards on Stratus back. Sai saw that the miasma had dispersed into a normal storm cloud so he gave a dismissive wave of his hand and released his connection to his funnel cloud. The cloud continued spinning for a moment and then began losing form, dispersing into the wind of the storm. Sai took in the vision of his allies, off to one side. Of Tura flying alone without Vilya on her back. He felt a pang in of worry in his chest when he thought of Vilya. He still didn't know why she hadn't participated in their battle, or where she was just then. As he thought this he noticed Kin atop Tura's back, falling backwards off of her back. Sai said as he watched his friend fall. Stratus responded, also watching.
Kin was getting close to the ground now. Sai pointed his palm at him and spoke an incantation, "Ventas Phasmatis." It was the same spell he had used to funnel the miasma, but this time he made it narrower and directed the flow of wind almost straight up. The funnel formed directly beneath Kin as he fell, catching him and holding him aloft. Sai slowly decreased the amount of power in the funnel until Kin came to rest gently on the ground.

Kin's vision completely blurred out into darkness as he fell from Tura's back, only to lastly hear the sound of wind pick up as he dozed off.
(( Lol There's my little confirmation that he isn't awake. ))
