Humans took interest in some thing that he never thought they would. "I'm surprised that you even know the existance of other planes, or understand the concept." Most humans didn't even know, probably because their lives were short and they didn't look for other worlds but enjoyed their own. "But it's not something uncommon, how else do you think planes get stories that even the inhabitants of that place seem to find hard to believe?" Slight raise of an eyebrow at Shyrae as she called Savryn by her formal title...the was odd. "Still it's an adventure that you should enjoy." But a slight nod. "I think your mother would hurt me if I stayed around anymore than I am now."

Well Caden had finished the stew by now, well zactually there was still left but since he was talking to Sevilin he wasn't going to talk with food stuck in his mouth. "Well we have had a few people travel from another plane to our city, since it's rather live in the desert or come to Ilindal all travelers choose to come to our city, there have been a few more than just your daughter and Savvy. But I also know because I talk to the dragons that I work with, it's nice to hear from what they have learned over their lives and what they have seen." Well when one works along side with another totally different creature, one that lives longer than them, one begins to ask questions and whatnot to hear what they have seen, well Caden does at least. "Though yes I see what your saying. I'm just a little surprised that's all, we ourselves rarely talk of the Laerethe since they only show up when something important is going to happen, hence our little adventure to recover the shards of the orb."
Though he nodded to Shyrae and chuckled, "Hunter doesn't trust anyone who is not a member of his crew. Though as for me I was never told why I was chosen, she said I would be told in due time I think." A light shrug from him before he turned back to his stew and finished off the rest. When he swallowed what was left in his mouth he smiled and sighed a little bit as he let the spoon drop in the bowl. "Shyrae I have a feeling in my gut that you help make this stew the way it is, so thank you very much it was very good to eat." Hey gotta give thanks for such a lovely meal, hence one of the reasons he was happy she was on the ship.

Shyrae was quite taken aback when Caden mentioned Savvy's nickname. To her knowledge no one on this ship knew her actual name and she wanted to keep it that way, thus the use of Savvy's formal name a few moments ago. "Have you been spying or eavesdropping in places you shouldn't, Caden? Seems to me you have knowledge that you shouldn't have." Pausing a moment to glance at her father and grin. "Haven't confined her to her bed yet? You've gotten better Daddy. She'd probably just throw a plate at you though. Maybe smack you with a spoon. Nothing you couldn't handle, right?"

Mister Richards let them go, adn walked into Hunter's cabin, and shook his head.
"you know...you really upset her. she called you a racist."
Hunter looked up for a moment, snorted, adn went back to his maps and working with various other designs on ship models and sketches.
"and why should I care?"
"Because her father is here. apparently he brought her a gift or maybe a message from home. I know you better than to think you a racist. but you really must learn to curb your angers. she's barely more than a child."
"Looks woman enough to me."
"Beside the point. Why is it you have such a grudge for those two?"
Mister Richards leaned over the desk, taking a glance at the sketches and looking at his captain.
Hunter looked back up, and gave a frown.
"The dark one is useful. she's an adequate healer, and though the Galley has grumbled a bit, he has found her cooking knowledge to be useful to him. but her lighter skinned counterpart...she's been nothing but trouble. she's good looking, despite her drawback, and I'm sure would be a fine crewmate. but she doesn't want to be. she offers nothing but attitude and friction. it's not good for my ship. and every time I do something about it, the darker one buts in like she did with that blinding thing. or those little pests do."
Mister Richards gave a small grin.
"Well why don't I ask them to but their backs into some work. Let them earn thier keep, adn maybe the lighter girl...the one that her friend is sometimes heard to call Savvy...will be less frictious when she sees and feels how in cohesion we have to be to get the ship to run correctly."
Hunter snorted, putting down his pen and sitting in his chair.
"She'll sooner use that red hand thing to cripple you than to actually do any stressful work, like any elf. they don't work when they got us little humans to do it for them."
"Can't hurt to ask though. you might be surprised. or maybe ask thier respective fathers. they might be able to pull some strings."
"Her father tried to kill me moments after meeting me."
"You did goad him with those comments about his daughter. I suspect any father would have tried to kill you. at least he didn't have a pistol."
Hunter was quiet a moment.
"Alright. you can see if you can get them to work. and send a message to Gem. I want the white dragon, Bell, back over here to help with this. I'm trying to figure out a way to arrange the sails to maybe use the upcurrents created by cascading sand over a cliff to float the Chimera across the chasm."
Mister Richards shook his head and nodded lightly.
"I'll send the note."

He really wasn't listening to Caden. After all, the information was minimal and he really didn't care to hear a justification of such things that didn't even need to be justified. People traveled, end of story. "Ever think they are around more than you think, you just never know? That's the way of such creatures...they strive to make you ignorant to them." Shrugging lightly and an interested look as apparently his own daughter caught him in a predicament. Hm, just like a human. "She's been behaving...and we're onto books now that she's throwing. I needed a reprieve from her pregnancy wrath anyway. But yes, nothing I can't handle."
"Aw look a love letter. I hate those." Taking the piece of paper that was handed off to her and was from Hunter. Flipping it for a moment in her fingers before opening the piece of paper and reading it over. Hm, that was interesting...he wanted to consort with one of them? Very well. "Jackson...go down below for me, take this not to the little white scaled dragon, she's needed elsewhere than on my ship." And back to enjoying her ship, making sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to.
Her attention was thusly taken from Kaz and Des as a pirate approached her with a note and she took it, read it over and blinked at it before looking to her fellow dragon-folk. "Seems Captain Deacon has need of me...you can go ahead and eat Kaz. Des...I guess you can have mine. Just means that Kaznec is going to have to cook for me again so I'll know how it all turns out. You two enjoy." Thusly turning and leaving the space, heading above deck adn taking to the air, flying back to the Chimera and to Hunter's cabine, knocking on the door before letting herself in. "You wanted to see me?"

Malik only grinned.
"She does try her best. though I think I've done my fair share of hellraising despite that."
moving to the bed, after taking his daughter's hand and setling her down on it, taking a chair for himself.
"I want updates as often as you can after I leave. and visit if you can maybe once in awhile, stay a few weeks or so. Despite the sometimes annoyance of having all three of you in the house, I do miss the chaos."
Hunter looked up, and nodded.
"Yes. I have a need of your inventive skills. in about three to five days, we'll be coming up on a chasm, this chasm is recent, and is in fromt of the salt beds that is our destination. it's a severl week, I beleive trip around this chasm in fairly hostile territory belonging primarily to Captain Fang of the Serpent."
a slight smirk.
"he and I do not get along. and on more than one occasion have had conflicts that threatened to send one of us to davy jones. I'm trying to find a way to reconfigure the sails and rigging to allow, with the updrafts inherent to such a place, and the high volume of rushing sand over the chasm edge....for us to glide over it, to use the thermal updrafts in teh same manner you winged ones use it."

"I get it from you." Letting him lead her over and sitting herself down, leaning back on her palms with a light sigh over all of this. She hated being thrown for a provebial loop when it came to certain things. But it seemed that her father was going to make sure that his words of the previous day were going to stick. She did give him a smile though. "You learned to love the mishap and the fighting, and then enjoy us all in our respective seats at the dinner table the next moment." But a little nod. "I'll come home after this, and stay a good amount of time. This one may actually wear out the wanderlust for a while." Was nice to know her father wanted her around, when at once upon a time he didn't.
Walking over, she took a look at what he was currently trying to plan out, though she gave an odd look at what he was mentioning. "I've heard mention of it." Tilting her head a moment and seemingly working things through it before she blinked. "You're...trying to make your ship glide?" Picking up the pencil that was resting on the desk, she went about sketching some things and calculating. "For a ship this size...you don't have enough surface area in your sails for the way you would need them, and you'd have to set up new masts in proper position. Or..." Quickly she sketched out apparenly herself as a dragon and then wingspan. "A dragon is like a ship....if you dropped your masts vertical...you could in theory pull tension enough to make it like a dragon on locked slide wings."
Shaking her head then. "Though a ship like yours, counting people and supplies, everything else...would drop like a rock. And if you did manage to get it even in a glide...you'd still have to clear the chasm and you don't know how large that is. Glide acheived or not, this ship would loose any altitude rather fast." Crossing her arms. "Do we not have enough supplies to go around is is running into this Captain Fang really that bad? I mean you do have dragons on board."

Caden blinked a little then turned to wards Shyrae, did she just accused him of spying? Well there was no reason to get angry really, she was asking a question but still it bugged him a little bit. "No I have never spied or eavesdropped on anybody during the whole time that I have been living on these ships since I never do such a thing, I've been reading and training whenever I could...why do you ask?" He asked her before he turned to Sevilin and gave a light blink before he nodded a little "I see what you mean." There wasn't much to say really, and he wasn't going to jump in the conversation they were having, didn't seem like he needed to anyway.

"Better than knives. Hoping for another boy?" Shyrae watched the human through narrowed eyes, noting his nonchalance and seeming indifference to the accusation she'd just flung at him. That didn't sit well with her. Humans usually got quite defensive. "Never is a strong word to use, Caden," she said her voice dangerously soft. "Perhaps now we should add lying onto the list of your crimes. I warn you, human, watch where your ears and feet lead you. Now tell me where you learned of that name." She wasn't above seducing Caden to get the information she wanted, even in front of her own father but first another tactic.

"Well, she's already said that she's not allowed to have knives around this time. Makes me cut aything that needs to be cut for dinner and everything. And well...I have three of each, so either for this one would be good for me." There was that sense of justice she had learned from her mother when it came to such topics. Seemed the subject of Savryn's name wasn't something that was to be taken lightly. Though it was in part amusing to see her go into that mode to work at getting the answers that she wanted.

Caden blinked a bit at Shyrae, just what was wrong with her? She was nice to him a few minutes ago so did a switch go off in her head or something? "Yeah it may be a strong word but I use it because it's true, I never have spied or eavesdropped on anyone ever since we left port or even before hand because I don't do stuff like that." There was now a stress tone marked in his voice, he did not like this one bit and what he said was true, he never has spied on anyone in his life and it was a bit stupid that out of all people Shyrae was accusing him of it. But he kept calm for the simple fact that he didn't want to come off as a jerk to them, after all it seems like every time he went a little emotional he always heard it from them.
Though his eyes lowered more as she continued on, now she went on to call him a liar. "Now you are calling me a liar, as a guard of Ilindal we are taught to hold respect to others, so that means to me that I don't ever spy or eavesdrop on anyone because there is no point, it's an invasion of privacy and it's wrong." Though he paused as she finally brought up the reason why she was going at this. "A name? Wait her name? You got to be kidding me, I heard you acknowledged that name in at least a few times while on board, once when we were on deck and I over heard you while I was busy reading or doing something and another time when I came into the galley and you two were talking and you said her name. You guys don't speak in whispers so I could sometimes hear what you say even though I don't have good hearing like you." So now the tone of his voice pointed to wards frustration, this all seemed to go down hill every second, so what was she going to accuse of him next? He couldn't wait to find out.

Shyrae stood up and walked over to Caden, standing over him and bracing one hand on the table. She was close to him that his nose was inches from her breasts and she could have cared less. "Unless I am very remiss in my studies, over hearing as you call it is the very definition of eavesdropping, Caden. You gained information you should not have and I would caution you to go about your next steps very wisely. There are those on this ship who do not need that particular information and if I find that you have given it to them for any reason, be it willing or not, it will not go very well for you."
A shake of her head and she reached out adn tilted his chin up. "My face is up here." Looking straight down into his eyes. "Do not give me that respect for all things guard crap that you so willingly spew. I know what it means to be a guard and I know that if you were to gain information regarding Ilindal that would be useful to the dragons, you would run adn squeal like a stuck pig. And well you should being that you are a Guard of that very place. I told you not to throw words like 'never' around. You will be painted as a liar for that is what you are when you make false claims."
Turning to her father for a moment she gave a laugh, "I'll bet you are cutting up many things then. Everytime she wants to cook. Which reminds me, I appreciate your gratitude over the stew. It was a collaborated effort so you need to make sure you thank the other chef as well." Pausing to let all that sink in. "Are we understood?"

It was always a mistake to take on an Inthara women, they got to be like wolves when it came to certain things. And they would pounce the moment they saw an opening that you had provided yourself, be it in warning, aggression, or in simple play or affections. Nice survival technique he supposed. But he didn't make move on his daughter, rather eager to see how all of this was going to play out actually...after all, his Shyrae had always been a quiet out of the way one. Though did she have to do the thing where your face was placed badly even if it wasn't your fault? Her mother liked to do that. "Somewhat, though at least she says I do it right and not in the way that makes her crazy where all the pieces are different."

Before he knew it his eyes were staring straight into Shyrae's breasts, now why the hell did it come to this? He wanted to move but she was too close and if he tried he may touch her in the wrong spot, then she or her father may come at him for doing so. But he listened and her words angered him, he was basically being pinned for as the fall guy because of something that was never intended! The way he looked at Shyrae, a nice person that he could get along with and maybe be good friends, was quickly sinking. "I'm sorry let me explain myself again because it seems that you did not understand me. When I 'overheard' you saying her name it was not intentional, I was reading a book, or eating stew, or doing something that occupied me. I was minding my own business when I heard you say her name. I just happen to catch it, after all I have ears that work I'm not deaf."
Suddenly he heard those simple words all woman say when a man seems to stare at their chest for too long. "Excuse me but I had intended for my eyes to be somewhere else but instead you stuck your chest in my face." God it seemed like he was being accused of being a pervert with that tone in her voice. But suddenly he saw her amber eyes as she went on basically attacking him. "Can I ask you something? Just what is your problem? I mention her name once and here you are throwing insults at me as if I disgraced you and your whole family! You Shyrae are basically making me the fall guy if the pirates or anyone else learns of her name, you are not being fair about this at all! Oh and just to point out to you I wouldn't be surprised if they have already heard her name, but of course after all I haven't even uttered her name once until now so they could not have heard it from me!" He sighed lightly and pulled away from her, this was getting to be very frustrating.
Though it seemed she went back into a nice caring mode, but that threat still lingered in her voice. "Oh now you appreciate my gratitude, well I don't appreciate your threats over something that just happened and wasn't intentional at all. So thanks, I think I understand it all." Anger laced his voice, this was totally not fair and if she was blind to what he said then she was a lost cause, though if she dare come and accuse him of letting out Savvy's name at all then that'll be the last straw.

Malik gave a small grin.
"I'll hold you to that. even if I have to lock you in your room."
settling back in his chair, thinking to himself. He'd need to contact Piper soon, let her know what was going on. after all he was extending his visit a bit.
Hunter frowned.
"So it's not possible for us to glide over unless each ship get a dragon to carry it."
motioning with his hand.
"Have a seat. you see, Fang is overly...aggressive with his territory. I would compare him perhaps to one of your wild counterparts. he'd sooner sink the chimera and the gale claw than to think that we could get in and out of his territory under his nose. So I'd prefer not to have a run in with him, especailly on the edge of a chasm with little maneuverability."
