"We're getting our pick. Those of us who can handle the A-wing, as proven by our simulators, get dibs, but otherwise you can rely on X-wings."

"I'll take something that can actually fly," Gendis muttered, referring to the A-Wing. Hit-and-run was much more suited to his style than the general space superiorty role of x-wings.

Jakar0
Jakar took notice to the human in a gravsled. "Who's the cripple?" He asked.

Kefka glared at the new recruit but remained silent.

"Myself, I shall stick with the X-wing," Zendia stated. "It wouldn't feel right to go without Rusty by my side," she added, patting the loyal R5 unit's head, whom gave a small beep.

"I'll stick with my X-Wing also," Jakar said, trying to surpress his embarassment as blood rose to his face.

"X-wings are more my style too." Azure commented.

"It seems we have a consensus thus far," Zendia said with a mild chuckle. "To get back on track, though," she continued, "what sort of things can we expect?"

"Okay, I've delayed this long enough," Jakar uproared. "Since we're going to Sullust... and all of you, I'm assuming, know that I am a fan of pod racing...I was wondering if I, or we, could attend a pod race after the mission. How 'bout it? It'll be fun!"

"And I suppose that after we go see a podrace on Sullust, we all take a trip to Coruscant to fill my desires? and we all go to indulge with the rest of the squadron wherever we feel fit? And as a soldier, you're just going to go AWOL if you don't have proper clearance?" Orrin asked.

"I'm no stranger to sarcasm, sir."

"Then I won't have to tell you what the implied meaning is then," Orrin returned. "Anyways, getting back on track. Sullust is apparantly a very key planet. They shifted off their imperial oppression a while back, but they dare not risk openly defying the empire, not yet. They are the very end of what the imperials are calling the 'sanctuary pipeline'. This is a very strategic location, apparantly, with the sheer numbers of supplies being shipped through the system. Our job, ladies and gentlemen, is to pull one of the hardest jobs there is."

Orrin pulled up a galactic map, which zoomed in on Endor. "This is the other end of the Sanctuary Pipeline. We dare not go close to it, as it seems the empire has something brewing up." The holograph split, showing endor and sullust. "Our job is to be the worse case of jock itch the empire has ever seen. We are to draw as much of the imperial fleet away from endor and here, to sullust. What we encounter will be up to how badly we irritate the imperials. It is a diversionary tactic, which will let us have little time to recooperate from. Because we deploy in six hours. Tomorrow, we head for Prefsbelt III. Ruby squadron, as you all know as our greatest rivals, will be doing the same job as we are, only difference is they're going to be behind us by one hour tomorrow, and infiltrate Prefsbelt IV. The time of the Rebellion is short, and it is precious. We have no time for piddling around. According to what I could intercept from the higher commands, they expect one of the largest battles of our time to come in about two weeks. Even Admiral Ackbar will be there. So there is something going down, and it hangs on our efforts..."

"Sounds good to me. Go in and give the Empire hell. I think we can handle that." Azure said from her seat.

"Not just give them hell. We're hoping to draw half the sector fleet away. We don't get to retreat until we are ordered to."

"It seems our work is cut out for us," Zendia said. "Everyone: let's show those Rubys what we're made of, alright?" With that, she gave a sympathetic gaze to Orrin. That girl you mentioned on Yavin Four? I too have something precious out there, mayhaps on Coruscant,

Afterwards, she then adressed Jakar, casting a stern expression at the zabrak pilot. "Another thing: what you do on your downtime is your business. However, while you are on duty, you are expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner. Are we clear?" she asked him.

Then her expression and tone softened. "I too have my own wishes, Jakar. It's why I'm here, to make them come true,"

With that, she then adressed Orrin. "And now, old man," she affectionately adressed him, "I heard something about assigning some of the new folks some squad numbers?"

"Not my concern. That's more along the lines of the flight leader, as they get in charge of assignments." Orrin stated, shutting down the hologram. "Personally, I find we tend to disobey our status every chance we get anyways.
