Sakeme brought her portion of meat to another spot, closer to the kid, and made her own fire. Following the boy's example, she used spare wood lying around to make her own spit and spearhe meat with it. Then she went over and dug through Elruda's backpack looking for seasonings, a plate or something, and whatever else would help her cook. They could save some of this stuff for later... and Elruda packed everything she owned, so it shouldn't be too much trouble... plus... it would save money...

Slowly but surely the meat began to cook. Sakeme was a bit surprised, as she didn't cook often.... but this would be good for her... a learning experience. The meat didn't seem too bad now... watching it harden slightly over the flames that licked its underside. Rubbing seasoning wasn't too hard either, just turning the spit and shaking a bit on at a time, rubbing it in in places... No point to it if the seasoning just fell off when she turned the meat.

The minutes passed by and the meat rotated over the fire. It was still raw... Sakeme wondered exactly how much she should cook. Most definately they would need food for the trip home... and the two of them just ate before this wierdo showed up. Sakeme didn't mind trying a new type of meat though... maybe it would be good... despite comming from a giant bug... Oh yeah... then there was Wrath... They were supposed to stay at the cafe for a little while because he was hungry... Maybe he still would be when he got back? It didn't matter... If he was... then he could help himself.

((For Carlos who wasn't here when Elruda demonstrated her love of scorpions earlier... She seems to think the scorpions are a Uchiha friend she knew back at Konoha. xDD))
Elruda's mind had drifted off into another world.
One thing about the Hyuugas, once they start meditating, you might have trouble getting their attention back down to earth. But the smell of food, smoke, and burning wood caught her attention. The child's nose twitched. One pearly eye cracked open, followed by another. For a moment, Elruda stared at the giant scorpion...or what's left of it. Her head tilted curiously to the side, before realization hit her. "NUUUUUUUUUUU!!! YOU KILLED AKERU!!!" Tears began gathering in her pearly eyes, looking more watery than usual as she scuttled over to the fallen scorpion, shaking the corpse gently all the while saying: "Speak to me Akeru!! Speak, speak!!!"

Groaning to herslef she turned her head and continued to turn the meat over the fire. "Elruda... that's not Akeru... C'mon kid, stop crying... That's a different scorpion. Akeru fit into the palm of your hand and then got swiped and eaten by a bird..." At the moment she had half a mind to go grab the sobbing child, but figured that she was going to just sit there... no harm would come to her she supposed.

Roy look to the girl for a long moment as he had a piece of the scorpions meat in his mouth. She was definitly an odd one. He could tell she was a Hyuuga but other than that..she was completly different than anything he knew or had seen before. Why was she freaking out over a scorpion, specially one of these giant freaks...He hadn't seen her around town so he knew she wasn't a native...so how would she know any of these damn things?
It was true, he had goated the thing into fighting him so he was kinda at fault but...meh, whatever. He just shrugged and continued to eat, "So, what are you guys doing out here anyway? You know its dangerous out here for a bunch of genin like you right?

Elruda met Sakeme's exasperated look with a full teary-eyed gaze. "Akeru...sniff...got eaten...?" A long pause, as Sakeme's words sank in. Wrong incentive...or at the least, the wrong reminder. The Hyuuga child's bottom lip trembled before more tears fountained out. "Akeru!!" Came the full-fledged wail. Looks like the other kunoichi would have to do the explaining to Roy's question.

Now severely distracted from her work, Sakeme was handed a child who was now crying a river and a boy asking questions. Groaning and giving a sigh she answered the question first... "We're just visiting from the village of the rain... Why we are visiting, I have no clue... Her sensei and my teammate went off on his own for a while doing who knows what. I'm just here to watch the kid and help her train..." Turning the meat over the flames a few more times, Sakeme's body shuddered under the weight of depression that was flooding the area. "C'mon Elruda... don't cry please..... gah... damn it! I swear I'll throw you off the cliff if you keep it up!" Rolling her eyes she turned the meat again to keep it from burning on one side before muttering to herself. "Then again... if I threw her off the cliff I'd get myself thrown off a bigger cliff... with spikes at the bottom..."

Roy just looked to the balling girl. Man oh man what a mess this was turnning out to be. He was never good with calming folks down or appeasing people. He was too blunt and brass for that. Hell, he had a hard time with a lot of social things...this knowledge depressed him for about 2.3 milliseconds. Then it was back to his normal way of life.
Slipping away from the fire with a piece of meat in his hand, he waited for the girl to inhale again for another cry and shoved the meat into her mouth. It was a large piece so she wouldn't be able to just swallow it and go back to crying. "What kinda Hyuuga are you? So you lost a pet, these things happen. You really think he wants to hear you crying about him? If he really cared about you like you cared about him, I doubt he wants to see you whining like a baby. Now shut up and eat."
Roy looked back over to the other one that was talking at first, "Nah, if you did something to Hyuuga kid, you'd be lucky to walk away with your chakra system still in tact. Not to mention the leader of the Hyuuga is in love with the Hokage. You'd be lucky to get off without becoming a national enemy." He grinned, "So...whats your story? Why they stick you witht he kid?

"Nuuuuuuuuuuu! Dun wanna go down cliff!!" Elruda began wailing even louder than before, before almost as quick as lightning, just as she was about to take another big breath...a giant chunk of the cooked meat was shoved in her mouth. For a moment, Sakeme would've sworn the girl's face turned alarmingly purple - perhaps from the lack of air? But after a long moment, Elruda began chewing on the meat and almost thoughtfully mumbled (still a bit teary-eyed and all) after swallowing: "It's...yummy...?"
Elruda began reaching and munching on another piece of meat as (expression while eating: whee ) Roy was asking questions away. But she froze when Roy mentioned two things that caught her attention...well, or at least one of them did anyways... "Head...of family...?" She murmured quietly. The expression in those pale eyes became haunted. "Okaa-san...here...?"

Sakeme laughed a bit. "Yeah, I saw some Hyuugas in the cafe... though they were demented or something. Tryed attacking the girl themselves saying she was an imposter... No, I was referring to my teammate. He's training her himself cuz she's a Hyuuga... she's his pride and joy apparently... on top of that... she hasn't beaten me in a fight yet... " Taking a breath she watched the kid munch on the scorpion meat... She was about to ask jokingly how Akeru tased, but decided not to quickly... "Turning back to the boy she answered his next question. "Let's see... Wrath has a tendancy to go too far when he trains her... He's too skilled for her and expects her to do everything perfectly... So I get in the way. He also apparently had other things to do and to make sure the kid gets her training done... I'm here to spar with her and all that..."

 Returning back to the canyons the Zuimishi clan member would hear crying coming from the distance, was it some kids wandering away from Iwagakure and got attacked by a scorpion? Not wanting to hear more of the torturing crying he would run his way to where his ears traced the crying. "Hold on! I'm coming!" Katagi called out oblivious to the fact that there's a Hyuuga crying about a pet scorpion and two other ninjas currently there, who could blame him? Crying out in this parts of the earth country who's unexperienced with the wild life would get in as much trouble as getting lost in Sunagakure's desert storms. Finally getting to the source of the crying, he noticed Sakeme eating what he could recognize as scorpion meat. Within that group would be the source of the crying was Elruda, within that group was Roy who he saw back at the village a few days ago. He also took notice of their head bands from the rain village, seeing them reminded him of his sensei's brother who was currently there...what could these rain ninjas want? "Oi, Roy!" He said with a wave and a smile. "I thought some one was being attacked by scorpions, I could hear the cry echoing through the canyon."

Elruda was never truly "alright" with meeting new people. Back in Konoha, afterall, she was near always kept a "safe distance" from the other kids. Akeru, his father having been her mother's old Genin teammate was another story... With a start, she let out a terrified whimper as Katagi had appeared and cowered behind Sakeme. A long moment passed, before Elruda slowly peeked over the older kunoichi's shoulders to observe the Zuimishi. Eyes as pale as dragon pearls, albeit a little red...a Hyuuga.

"Uh..." Truly confused of the whimpering girl, he took note of her eyes as it was of the Hyuuga blood line from Konohagakure. Iwagakure back then must of had some troubles during the war they had with this clan, all though he didn't know fully of what they were capable of doing he thought it was odd of how scared she was acting. His green eyes scanned the Hyuuga's face as she peeked out once more and the awkward silence took place. "I'm Zuimishi Katagi, and I suppose you're a Hyuuga right? I guess it's pretty obvious that you two are coming to Iwagakure since you're in the middle of the Abunai Canyon." Walking closer but slowly to the two foreign shinobi, he gave a true friendly smile which was mainly directed to the Hyuuga. "There's no need to be scared, heh...I'm not a scorpion!"

Sakeme groaned as the kid hid behind her. Turning back, she examined the new boy. "Uh... no... we've been here all day... We're just training..." She made note of his name and turned to look at the kid again. "Easy... no need to freak out, kid... You know if anyone tried to attack you I'll personally kick their butts... and if not me... then Wrath will. You know that.." Still with the Hyuuga hiding behind her, Skeme rotated the meat over the fire once more.
