That's more than a bit ironic, Nina thought, watching helplessly, as her Pokemon was lifted into the air, being sent flying backwards. There really wasn't any way for a Pokemon to defend against Psychic, unless the Pokemon who was being attacked had a greater Psychic power than the attacker did, therefore being able to overcome the weaker attack. Oracle would have been able to defend himself against it, but Krystal was not Oracle, and didn't have that type of defensive capabilities. The girl weighed her options, as Krystal regained her composure.
"Krystal!" Nina called. "That was a pretty good attack on their part, but let's show them what else you can do! Thunderbolt attack, now!"
With a quick nod, Krystal closed her eyes, charging up electrical energy within her body; after a few moments had passed, her eyes snapped open. She turned her gaze to look to Napalm, and loosed the energy she had stored at him.

Keegan didn't look up as he heard the sliding doors whoosh open, as he was certain it was either Kasiya or Sasha coming to get him. Loki snapped his head up and watched the blonde curiously as she drew nearer, and the Arbok let out a happy-sounding hiss at the sight of the familiar girl (well, it was happy to him, at least), as he had always liked Kasiya. He continued to wind his coils around his trainer's legs, looking up at the redhead as he finally acknowledged Kasiya's presence. He finished his cigarette and dropped it on the ground before attempting to stomp on it, though the Arbok putting the squeeze on him made it impossible. "And that's where you're wrong, Kasiya," he mumbled, recalling him into his PokeBall and setting it back on his belt, "completely wrong." He crushed the cigarette under his heel and shoved his hands into his pockets, green eyes now fixed on the girl. "But, now isn't the time for that story. Let's get back in there before Blaine leaves without us, alright?" He smirked at the little blonde and took her by the hand, wondering just how much he was going to regret this little trip to Cinnabar. At least I'll get to see the volcano, he thought, smiling a bit.
The same thought that had went through the minds of both Mitsu and Kasiya passed through Keegan's as they stepped back inside, and he too ventured over to the PCs lined up along the wall to make a quick roster change before making his way back over to Blaine and the others. ===== Miharu looked over her shoulder as the Duskull took a turn at scaring the man, and Lily took a step forward, suddenly feeling very protective of her trainer. One of her vines was still curled around her wrist, and Miharu straightened up, smoothing the wrinkles out of her dress. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a girl wearing a purple shirt and jeans making her way towards the ghost Pokemon. "Maybe she knows who those ghosts belong to?" Miharu asked, though the Ivysaur just grunted. Miharu chuckled and patted Lily on her head as they followed after the two girls. "Hey," she called out to the one in the purple shirt, "are those ghost Pokemon yours?"

Mitsu nodded once more seeing how visibly annoyed Blaine was with them. "I'm sorry we're bothering you," she apologized. Her voice was still small and quiet. Sasha had already done the majority of the apologies and the purple haired girl didn't want to sound like a broken record. Mitsu was happy to see that Kasiya and Keegan were also coming. Though she rarely spoke to Keegan she felt happy that he was coming along. They had always had this quiet, unspoken relationship that had undoubtedly been sparked by Sapphire's burn and Mitsu's subsequent healing. She didn't have much control over her powers anymore and she wasn't sure when that shift had occurred, but she was glad that it was after she had healed Keegan's burn. Mitsu attempted a half smile, quietly waiting for Blaine to take them to where ever Mike was.

Mia wasn't quite sure why she was training, but you know, it seemed like the right thing to do before a gym battle. Out on the field was Rhyme and Jello, ready to duke it out with each other before tearing Roark's Pokemon to bits! Mia giggled, imagining her Pokemon rip little cartoon figured of a Geodude and a Cranidos to scraps. Okay, okay, she needed to be a bit serious here. Rhyme would be furious with her if she wasn't.
"Rhyme, I want you to practice dodging! You're going to battle his strongest, toughest Pokemon so I'll need you to be at your best!" Mia instructed, her voice taking on the gym-leader like command that her father had when he bellowed his attacks. "And Jello, you'll be attacking! I'm going to be counting on you too!" The girl nodded before issuing her first command, "Vine Whip!"
Jello was sososososo tempted to randomly spew some factoid about Crawdaunts, but she held herself, at least for now. The jumble of vines hopped about before sending three vines at the Water Pokemon. They honed in on their target, but unfortunately they missed. The first and second vine tried to crash down on Rhyme's head but she swiftly dodges away with a jump. And the third vine tried a left side sweep but Rhyme evaded that one with a Quick Attack. Her response speed was so terrifically quick! Oh! How was Jello ever going to catch her?!

Sam looked at the girl who called her. Green hair with a flower...
"Hey are you Miharu? It's Sam, from Twitter! No I don't know who they belong to, I was just trying to get through here on to Goldenrod. Their trainers are being so irresponsible!" Sam scanned the crowd again for any sign of the possible trainers. Kya kept her eyes glued to the Ghost pokemon, clearly uncomfortable around them. She whispered to Sam.
"Sam, I really don't like this. Can we get out of here?" Sam glanced toward her.
"Kya, it's no big deal. They're just mean. We got our Pokemon to protect us. I doubt they could take on 6 pokemon at once!" She kept walking towards Miharu.

As another helicopter came down, Petrel looked up into the sky and heard buzzing in his ear. "Boss Macabre," he said, imitating the voice of Giovanni. After all, he was a perfect impressionist. "The boss would like to see you inside," Petrel continued on with his normal voice, "Everyone on board your copter is to stay either on board or, at the very least, outside of the tower. He has ordered that only Admins are allowed in the building, and sadly forced me to stay outside doing Grunt work," Petrel cut off communications and put one hand into his pocket, the other stroking his glorious purple goatee. He was clicking his tongue against his teeth, a habit that he could never seem to break.
Giovanni stepped inside of the building, carefully maneuvering over a busted support beam. There was an eerie sense of beauty within this tower - something so majestic that was easily destroyed by something so common as a rain storm. Yet Giovanni was very captivated by his surroundings. He looked down a hole in the floor to see the Admin on duty down below, snapping pictures of where the Relic was. "Beautiful..." He snapped his fingers at Proton, who nodded and tossed down a rope, tying it to what seemed like the only support beam that was still standing. After making sure it was secure, Proton went down first. "I will follow Proton," Giovanni said sternly, "Leo will go after me. Mostly so he can keep an eye on anything that could be entering the building." As he went down the rope, he made sure not to dirty up his suit. Though he had countless orange suits just like it, he did like to keep them well maintained.
After hitting the floor below, he approached the man on duty, an Admin by the name of Simon. "How did you come across this?" Giovanni asked.
"We were actually here, studying up and hoping to capture the three beasts for you, sir!" Simon saluted his leader. When the salute was returned, he cleared his throat. "When we dropped down here, our sensors found a strange energy pattern flowing from right here," he continued, "And in this spot is where the three beasts were said to have stood before being awoken by a child many years ago."
"I see," Giovanni crouched down, brushing some dirt off of the Relic. "Leo!" he barked, "Proton! Start digging." Proton nodded silently, handing a pick-ax to Leo with a slight smirk. "And be careful not to damage it! So help me..." he took a few steps back and dug his hand into his jacket pocket, taking out his long forgotten pipe and lighting it, puffing on chocolate-flavored tobacco.
-*-
"Well, Carvanah are like piranahs," Mazarin explained, "And they evolve into sharks, called Sharpedo. Which is like a shark, mixed with a torpedo. I'm not even kidding," he started to laugh, "And his skin is so rough, it hurts other Pokemon that touch it! It's pretty radical. He and Banette have been pretty close friends eeeever since!" He nodded. That's when he realized that his Banette was...no where to be found.
Banette gave his Ghostly companion a high-five and hissed his laughter. Not too bad, he said, Gotta sssssay, i really like that one-eye thing you do. It'ssss a killer. The Ghost floated around his new friend a few times, as if examining him. That sssskull mask is pretty cool too. If you can take it off, I bet that would be really sssscary. It was said that bad things would happen to someone if they unzipped Banette's mouth - he wondered if the same could be said if someone removed Duskull's little mask.
"Hey, where'd...?" he looked around fro his ghost partner, then stopped. "I got it! Banette!" he put his fingers in his mouth and whistled, a trick that Kilik taught him when they were kids. The puppet appeared beside his trainer almost at an instant. He motioned for Hades to come along as well, being best friends they did have to stick together. "You can't just disappear like that, and go off kidnapping Hades." Banette rolled his eyes, and disappeared into the floor, becoming nothing but a circular shadow on the ground. "Wh-What!?" he crouched down, getting out of the conversation while having a heart-to-heart with Banette. Stupid Ghost. "Why don't we go ahead and get our smoothies, huh?" He pointed down the way, the Pokemon Center straight ahead.

"It's not that you're annoying me per say," Blaine said as he scratched the back of his head. "It's just that you kids put me in a bit of a rough spot." As he spoke, the nurse came back and handed the old man his Pokeball. "Thank you, young lady." He turned to the group, the red-head suddenly present. "Shall we be off?"
"Oui!" Sasha practically cheered, buzzing with excitement. She was shaking, both from happiness that she was going to see her friend, but there was something else there. What it was, she wasn't quite sure, but she couldn't help herself from drumming intensely on the counter top as she waited for Blaine to stop talking and take them back.
"Goodness you young people are so impatient," Blaine said (mostly to Sasha). "Alright, let's go. Ronald's going to give me such a fuss." The Gym leader opened the door and began heading up the stairs.
"Ronald?" Sasha asked.
"My extremely annoying pilot." replied Blaine, pinching the bridge of his nose and letting out a sigh. Sure enough, when Ronald saw not only Blaine, but an ensemble of kids come out of the doorway, he threw Blaine the most irritated and quizzical look.
"What the hell's all this, then?" asked the pilot. "Is this rainbow assortment of hair colors all your grand-kids?"
The Gym Leader's right side of his mouth curved downward at the comment. "Very funny, now why don't you just start the engine and do your job."
"I dunno," Ronald teased. "My job is to ferry your old a** around, not a bunch of snots."
"Hilarious. Now why don't we just-" Blaine was cut off by a sudden pink blur whizzing by him. In what seemed like a second, Sasha was in the copilot's seat and right in Ronald's face. She took a deep breath in from her nose as she gave the man a glare the pilot found nothing short of utterly terrifying.
"L'eesten here you peasant!" she screamed. "Right now z'here iz a boy all scared and alone who s'hinks z'hat no one in the world gives a damn if he wakes up tomorrow morning! Z'his boy has been through more pain that you could possible imagine! What you are effectively doing with your snide and middle-class commentary iz keeping my friends and I from letting z'his boy know z'hat 'zhere are people in 'zhe world who still care about him, who m'ees h'eem, who love h'eem!" Sasha slammed her fist down on the dashboard of the helicopter, causing Ronald to jump. "Now z'he next words I will hear from your mouth, and not a single oz'her syllable will be 'Yes, Ms. Beauchamp.', and then you will start up z'his helicopter, take us to Cinnabar Island, and not utter a single word unless spoken to! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" She leaned forward, causing the man to tilt backwards in fear. Her face was contorted into a horrible scowl as she looked down on the man. "Well?" she asked, her mouth moving only slightly.
Ronald swallowed a lump in his throat. "Y-yes, Ms. Beauchamp."
"Très bien!" Sasha said with a sweet smile, clapping her hands together and hopping off the side seat. Ronald frantically started the helicopter, and when she heard the engine kick on and the blades begin to rotate, she smiled once more.
Blaine looked down at the girl with a smirk. "Young lady." he started, chuckling. "You wouldn't happen to need a job would you?"
"You couldn't afford me." she said with a wink, hopping on the helicopter. "Come on, mes amis!" Sasha waved for her friend's to come sit next to her, as Blaine boarded the helicopter, shaking his head and smiling.

The Magmar took the electric bolt in the chest, using all of his strength to keep himself from falling over. Just what kind of Pokemon was this? Napalm grunted as he struggled to put himself in his usual pose. His arms felt heavy, as did the rest of his body, but he wasn't out yet!
That damn thing knows everything! Mike cursed. Last time he'd seen Krystal, Nitro had made short work of her. Then again, Nitro and Napalm were on somewhat different levels. He still didn't remember Krystal having that much of a varied move pool. Nina sure didn't skimp on training that Pokemon. As Mike thought of the next move he should use, he saw that Napalm was breathing heavy. Faint traces of black smoke were rising from his mouth, nose and body. Napalm... Mike thought with a smile. The jerk won't give up, even though he knows he's completely outmatched. Alright, we may be the losers in this round, but let's show Nina and Krystal you're not to be underestimated!
"Napalm!" Mike threw his arm forward dramatically, a very small flame puffing from his open hand. "Let's give them a gift from my sweetheart: Overheat!"
Napalm smiled at the command. He somehow knew Mike would want to go out with a bang. The Magmar balled his fists and tensed up, scrunching his body up. Heat shot out from his body as the air warped and wavered around him. "Maaaaag..." Planting his feet, the Pokemon stuck his face forward, a large ball of fire building in size at the tip of his beak. With a mighty "MAR!" he launched his attack. The backfire from the blast sent him back a few feet, but he managed to maintain his balance, somehow. Napalm slumped forward and tried to catch his breath, watching the fireball rip through the air towards Nina's Pokemon.

Ryka giggled as she and Fantina twirled in the middle of the walkway. How silly we must look! She thought with a laugh, hardly noticing that there were only few trainers around. Imitating the twirling master posture, Ryka straightened her back more and tried to pose her arms in the same position as Fantina's. It didn't quite work out that way, however, for when she twirled she fell on her butt. The girl quickly got back up and laughed it off. "I suppose I'll just need to practice!"
The two walked and chatted their way out of the Vermillion City limits. Ryka didn't entirely understand what Fantina had said, but she did hear the "Sinnoh" and "gym leader" parts. "You're from Sinnoh!" She repeated. "And a Gym Leader? Wow! You must be amazing!" Ryka exclaimed. Both elegant AND strong! That's the kind of trainer I'd like to be. Ryka thought, finally realizing that Fantina was the idol figure that she needed to help her realize the path that she wanted to take in life.

Completely wrong? Kasiya thought, opening her mouth to ask for an explanation, but she was cut off quite quickly. "Yeah, you're right, but you'd better tell me what's going on later, or else." It was a semi-serious threat, but she fully intended to go through with it. When he took her hand, however, it completely disarmed her and she smiled weakly and allowed him to lead her back inside the Pokemon Center. Kasiya watched the gym leader carefully, trying to figure out what the man was thinking. It was then that she realized that Blaine was the next gym leader she would have to take on, and suddenly she felt both nervous and excited at the same time at the prospect of battling Blaine for her Volcano Badge. When they were all ready, they followed Blaine to the rooftop where the helicopter was waiting. So that was Blaine's, she thought, completely missing the exchange between Blaine and Ronald until Sasha tore into the pilot, and even Kasiya couldn't help but whimper and back away a few feet. Sasha could be really, really scary when she was angry!
She breathed a sigh of relief when Roland relented, and then it was time to board the helicopter. She climbed in, taking a seat behind Blaine. "My dad has a helicopter just like this," she said, trying to distract her mind from the inevitable gym battle she would have to face at some point, as well as what would most likely be a very difficult reunion with her dear friend. She folded her hands neatly in her lap and tried to keep herself calm, and instead tried to focus on other things. Don't worry, Mike, we're coming to help you. You're not alone, you have us, she thought, closing her eyes as though her thoughts would somehow reach him. She felt Keegan take the seat next to her and without thinking she took his hand in hers, smiling as she realized it would be important for him to be there for her, as well as Mike. We'll all lean on each other, 'cause that's what friends do.
=-=-=-=-= Leo continued to say nothing, and he looked around the destroyed tower. He'd seen pictures of it in its former glory before it had been gutted by fire; the charred remains definitely did not do the place justice. He looked over his shoulder as Giovanni began to make his way down the ladder. They hadn't drawn too much attention to themselves, as the Burned Tower was out of the way and closed off to the public due to it being structurally unsound, but there was always the off-chance that some meddlers could interfere.
He made his way down the ladder once Giovanni had made it to the basement level, grumbling in annoyance as his silver jacket got snagged on a jagged edge of a loose board. He managed to pry it off without damaging it, but it had already added to his perpetually sour mood. He reached the bottom just in time to have a pickaxe practically shoved in his face, and he nodded, walking over to examine the exposed section of relic. He and Proton exchanged a knowing glance - a glance that said they'd both suffer extreme consequences if they weren't careful - and after removing his jacket for safekeeping, they began to dig, the bulkier and burlier Leo making careful swings to remove the larger clumps of rock and dirt obstructing the relic. Proton was ready to remove the debris as well as sweep off the dirt and other dust that settled on the ancient relic, and after about thirty minutes, the relic was ready for extraction.

"My, my, my," Nina said, hands on her hips and a smile on her lips, "you certainly are a determined little Pokemon, now aren't you? Standing strong when the odds are clearly stacked against you-- quite impressive, darling. You've got a lot of determination. I admire that."
...Well now, this was foreign. What was this rush of feelings that was sweeping over Nina?
Confidence? Confidence that she could actually win a round? Arrogance? Vanity? Supremacism? Faith?
Whatever those feelings were, the girl liked them. It was odd, and a bit indescribable, but it seemed as though all of the positive attributes associated with being a Trainer were beginning to enter Nina's mind, because she knew that she finally had a chance at winning a round. She didn't feel pessimistic and downtrodden for once. Granted, this was just the potential for one win, but it made her feel absolutely incredible. I could get used to this, she thought.
Her thoughts, however, were interrupted as she heard Mike issuing the command for Napalm to unleash an Overheat attack. She watched as the Spitfire Pokemon loosed a powerful fireball, aimed directly at Krystal.
Think fast, Nina, think fast!
Thinkthinkthinkthinkthink!
"Krystal!" Nina called, pointing dramatically towards the oncoming fireball. "Even though you've got resistance to Fire-based attacks, and he's a bit weaker than you, that's still a powerful attack nonetheless! Counter Napalm with a Surf attack, and get rid of that fireball in the process!"
The Dragon closed her eyes, doing the best she could to focus her energies, despite the rather distracting heat of the environment, plus the added heat from the fireball that was rapidly barreling towards her. In her mind, Krystal envisioned bodies of water-- lakes, rivers, streams, oceans, and the like. Focusing, focusing, she drew the aquatic energy from those sources into her body, giving it shape, giving it substance, giving it life. Her eyes snapped open and Krystal shot upwards into the air, a trail of sparkles following her.
She let out a rather majestic and soothing cooooo! as she summoned forth a tidal wave from the water energy that she had collected. It entirely doused the Overheat attack and was storming across the ground towards Napalm.

Leon watched as the Zigzagoon once again tried to use a Tackle attack on Ghos, but to no avail. It winced in pain as damage was inflicted from its burn, and Leon finally just sighed and recalled Ghos, motioning Muuma forward and commanding a Psywave. The Zigzagoon let out a tiny squeak before fainting. At least it didn't have to sit there and wait for the burn to slowly eat away all its health before it fainted.
Though it hadn't lasted very long, Muuma was very glad she'd gotten to show up that Ghos. He'd been getting all the attention since Leon had obtained him. Yes, she understood that he was just a baby and needed the training, but that didn't mean Leon had to basically ignore her while he was doing so! Leon began walking again and she trailed after him, wondering when they would get to the exit.

“Now! Behind it!”
Hoothoot heard rustling in the bushes and spun on the spot. Eyes widened when he saw the Cyndaquil rushing out of the tall grass, array of flaming quills splayed across its back. And again, Cindy of Cherrygrove glared at him, eyes emitting a red flash, an aura of intense hatred being beamed directly into his head.
Needless to say, the owl was just a tiny bit freaked out. Hoothoot flapped his wings frantically, beginning to hop back on its one foot as fast as it could.
Scarlet aimed a finger at the almost-fleeing flying type, lips pulling back in a grin. “ALRIGHT, CINDY! TACKLE IT! TACKLE IT TO DEATH.”
Cindy wasn’t sure that ‘to death’ part would be happening, but she sure as hell had nothing against the tackling part. So she charged forth, quills blazing like the flames of a forest fire. And while the Hoothoot was in mid hop, the Cyndaquil drove her head into its gut, sending it rolling back across the clearing.

Mike's eyes widened at the sight of the wall of water looming up over the battlefield. It churned towards him. As Napalm's Overheat was harmlessly consumed, Mike felt a sudden rush of fear. His stomach dropped down to his feet and he scrambled to the back of the wall. He clawed at the wall of the volcano as he tried to get away from the Surf attack.
Napalm smirked weakly as his attack was completely swallowed by Krystal's Surf attack. Looks like this was it. The Magmar looked up at the towering wave and nodded slowly, closing his eyes. Everything went black as Napalm was swept away. He slid across the ground and rolled off of the side of the arena into the magma below. As soon as he hit the molten sea below, his eyes shot open. Napalm floated down to the bottom, where Blaine's Magmortar was already sitting. He smiled, and pat the smaller Pokemon on the head.
Napalm picked himself up and sat down next to the Pokemon, and the two continued their conversation they left off at before when Mike went to go shower.
Realizing he couldn't climb this smooth stretch of the wall, Mike released Portabello to use a Protect. The Breloom jumped in front of his master and deployed a powerful barrier...for nothing. The wave died out before it reached the edge of the stage, let alone the raised area where the trainers stood. The Breloom looked back at his master, who was holding his chest and breathing heavily.
Are you alright, master?
"Yeah...yeah..." Mike said in between breaths. "It's just, after finding out about how harmful water is to me, it's a bit scary to see a Surf attack coming at you."
I understand. nodded the Pokemon. But do not worry, master. I shall protect you however I can. Portabello bowed, and stood beside his trainer.
"I know you will buddy. You're the best." He hugged his Pokemon tightly. Portabello smiled, adjusting his cap after the boy let go.
"Sorry about that, Nina!" Mike spoke up. "But that wasn't too bad! I'm surprised Napalm lasted that long against Krystal, she's really gettin' strong!" The boy pulled his last choice from his pocket. "Last fight." he said with a smile. "Let's see if I can't help this guy out with this." He pulled out a TM from his tattered bag that was leaning against the wall and placed it on the Pokeball. "I don't know why I didn't think of this before. It's kind of perfectly makes sense."
What is that master? Portabello inquired as Mike sent out his final Pokemon: Beacon. The Ampharos looked around confused, then honked; a natural progression of thought.
Mike put his hands on his hips and smirked. "Teaching the Pokemon that can't hit a move that doesn't miss."

"Wow, that sounds amazing." Junko said, her mouth gaping a bit. She would have gone out and sought the shark Pokemon if she weren't already pretty satisfied with the water type she had recently acquired. Mazarin's sudden whistle was somewhat harsh on her ears and she covered them with her hands. When she realized that her own Ghost wasn't in the general area she became worried and began to scan the area for him. Banette's entrance back into their small group didn't phase as she was used to the way ghost types behaved. Hades popped in next to her as well and they both watched the Banette disappeared into the cement while his trainer was trying to have a word. Junko giggled under breath at them and grabbed a hold of her partner. "Stay close you." she told him, hugging the ghost close to her chest. He coughed from under his skull. Her grip was a tad strong.
"Sounds good," Junko said as the began to walk again. She wiped her forehead with her arm and used her gloved hand to block out the sun beaming down on them. "It's geting kinda hot out."
~~~~ Jomei sighed and thought the situation over in his head for a time. On the one hand, he had put a good amount of effort into catching the Flying Type, and on the other... He kind of hated the the thing, it was annoying. He looked down at the brunette who still had her fists clenched tightly, eager to trade. She did seem to really want the Hoothoot. He sighed and scratched the back of his head. "What are you gunna trade me in return?"
"I'm not telling..." she giggled and averted her eyes, "It's a seeeecreeeet."
The boy sighed again. He decided he didn't care anymore, and to give the girl what she wanted to get her out of his hair. He did promise to meet Junko, and while he did want to make her wait a little, Jomei knew if he made her wait too long she'd be fuming. He reached down and removed the bird's Pokeball from his belt. He studied it for a few seconds before nonchalantly handing it over to a now very happy girl. She quickly scooped the ball into her hands, a grin from ear to ear was plastered on her face. Jomei cleared his throat to let the girl know that he was still standing there, as she seemed to fade into own little world staring at the round object intently.
"Oh, yeah!" She dug into the bag on her shoulder and pulled out a blue and red Great Ball. She handed the ball over to the boy and the trade ended. With that done, she ran off a few yards and turned to face him again, "His name is Reginold!" she informed the purple haired trainer through a shout. "Don't change it!!"
"Reginold?" he muttered to himself, raising an eyebrow at the ball. He looked back to the girl as she ran off into the forest. "That's not a food at all!" he yelled after her. "I HAVE A THEME Y'KNOW!" but it was too late for his words to reach her as the girl had already disappeared into the foliage. He looked over to his partner who had been sleeping on the ground while most of this was taking place. "Well, Pizza" he began as he crouched down to give the fire type a nudge. "I guess we should find out what this thing I just traded for is..."
Boss Macabre descended from the helicopter and nodded to Petrel as he made his way inside the building. His two guards got out of the chopper, but didn't move very far from the vehicle. Claire remained inside. She was still feeling rather unsteady and wasn't sure she could walk. Man, this just doesn't seem right... I suppose the story is convincing enough, but what is with those images I saw and why don't I remember joining this 'Team Rocket' organization?
Macabre looked down as the other two admins began to uncover the relic. "Greetings!" He chimed as he descended. Picking up another pick axe, he began to carefully help excavate the strange relic. "As soon as we're done here I'll fill you in on our activities, sir!" Macabre chimed after his first swing.
Back in the chopper, Claire decided to take a look around. Inside the vessel behind her, she noticed a healing machine for the first time. It couldn't hurt to use it. Carefully placing her two pokeballs onto the machine, Claire waited a few moments for the memorable chime all these machines made, seeing as nearly all of them were all manufactured by the Joy family which had a monopoly of sorts in the area of Pokemon rejuvenation. Well, I guess I'm ready to go give this one back to the boss. If, everything seems legitimate anyhow.
Nina smiled, recalling Krystal into her ball. "I'm the one that should be apologizing," she replied; "I forgot how... erm... detrimental water could be to you." She tapped her head a couple of times with her left index finger; this was her way of indicating to Mike that she discovered his weakness after forcibly inserting herself into his mind. "Napalm's getting strong, too! The last time I saw him, he was just a little baby. He's certainly come a long way since then! And I know that from this point, he'll--"
Nina stopped talking as Beacon was released. Her eye twitched a little bit as the Pokemon honked; "Where were you when I was using Pookie?" she asked the Ampharos, an amused smile on her face. He was notorious for having an aim that left something to be desired; "Let me guess; Shock Wave?" she asked Mike, in response to his comment. "Good idea." Nina trailed her fingers along her belt, knowing full well which Pokemon she was going to use next. It's either her or Aphrodite, the latter of whom I haven't used in a lifetime, she thought.
She paused for a moment. Come to think of it, I can't even recall when I last used Aphrodite. The only thing I ever really used her for was Surfing, but Krystal can do that, plus Fly. She bit her bottom lip; it was a bit of a disheartening thought to realize that she didn't have a use for one of her Pokemon anymore. Maybe I should just store her away when I get the chance, until I can figure out what to do with her. Grabbing a Pokeball, Nina released Anna back onto the field. Anna locked eyes with Mike, and for a brief moment, she considered hollering at him for attacking her earlier; she decided against it, however.
"I'm ready to go," Anna commented. She looked to Beacon and smiled a little.
"Good girl. Now, let's start things out right: Psybeam!"
"Done." Closing her eyes briefly, Anna drew Psychic energy into herself; after a moment or two, she concentrated that energy and formed it into a multicolored beam that, upon opening her eyes, she loosed toward Beacon.
