Kaida smiled greatly. " I hope I do...Well... I know I will!" She said winking and sticking her tounge out with a giggle. " Well how dose this look?" She asked. Showing the know finished rice and other things that they would be dinning on for dinner.
" I hope that I made it right..." She said. She went over too the pot with rice in it and put it into a new contaner that they would sever it to the others on.
" If you think its good should we tell the others that it's time to eat?" She asked. " Um...Dose mother eat in her own room or something?"

Mei quickly scampered into the okiya, heaving a bucket of water to the kitchen. Last time she brought water into the okiya, she nearly spilled every drop onto the floor. This time however, she didn't spill any water at all, she even surprised herself. "To be beautiful is one thing," she began saying quietly to herself, "but to be graceful is another. Both go hand in hand, without one the other is lost." Her mother always told her that when she had made a foolish mistake. Mei knew in her heart it was true, and to become a geisha would make her mother's wishes for her come true. "Mother..." Mei whispered to herself "I'll become a geisha for you...I promise."

As Mei whispered to herself quietly, she smelled the aroma of rice and fish coming from the dining room. She hadn't eaten for hours, and the smell made her stomach churn in hunger. Mei followed the intoxicating scent to the kitchen, where she saw Umou and Kaida, laughing and enjoying their dinners. "Well," Mei said with a radiant smile "It seems you have found your way around the okiya quite well, and you're doing a great job." she told Kaida "May I join you two for dinner?"

having some extra time Amaiya went to hwer room and got her shamasen. she snuck it out to the porch and in the very far corner of the garden began to play. She hoped that no one would be able to hear her music and so she could not get into trouble for any reason. She started to pluck the strings carefully but mindful of what she was playing

Kaida smiled. " Yes, I'm doing quite well, and of course you may eat with us..." She said jestering to an empty spot near her. " How many scoops of rice would you like?" She asked holding a bowl near the bowl that she was useing to hold the rice.
" I do have to thank Umou for showing me around and teaching me what she has tought me..." She said.

When she finished Kaida stood up from her place at the tabel grabbing her dishes. " I thank you both for the company you have given me tonight for dinner..." She said walking into the kitchen and cleaning the dishes that she had dirted.
Finding a small buket in the coner of the room she filled it with warm water and walked out to the stairs. She had a brush that she would dunk into the water and then a rag to dry off the stair. She made her way to the top of the stair case. Lightly she dipped the brush into the buket and then pulled it out.
The brush made a soft scrapeing sound as she dragged it along the wooden stairs. " I hope that I may meet the okaa-san of this Okiya soon..." she said.

Okaa-san stood from her low table, stretching her legs. She made her way out of her room and walked gracefully down the hallway, nodding as she observed what nice work the maids had done in cleaning the okiya.
She stopped at the door to the garden, left open for the light breeze,and stared out at the beautiful pond, surrounded by bright flowers and trees.

Kaida looked in awe at the women who walked outside. " Was she?" She thought. " She must be mother..." Kaida brought a hand up to her mouth. " Wow...She was pretty..." She said quitely.
Looking back too the kitchen she quickly made sothing to eat and then went back to cleaning. Finding the broom she swept along the hallway. Thinking about being a Maiko again.
" I can't let that thought side track me agian..." She thought reasting her head on her hands that were both placed on top of the broom.

Umou eyed Kaida, who herself was watching Okaa-san. While she'd only briefly been able to meet the other woman, she'd sensed a great sense of peace, and hoped to speak with her again. Whispering to Kaida to follow her, she exited the okiya, into the garden.
Pausing respectfully a few yards away from the Okaa-san, she said "Okaa-san, I beg your pardon, but I wondered if you might have met our new maid, Kaida-chan yet."

Kaida was shocked to here that she was about to met okaa-san. " Thats her..."she thought. She quickly to her knees bowing. "It's an honer to meet you...Okaa-san... I'm Kaida..." She said.
Kaida could feel her heart ready to burst form her chest. " Okay you can stop beating so harsh!" She told her self. " It's okay...This is good...This is going to help me get closer to being a geisha."

Okaa-san heard someone speak and turned, seeing the new maiko there.
"Hello, Umou-chan." She looked past the young girl to another. "I'm afraid that I have not yet been able to meet the new maids. Kaida-chan, is it?" She asked the new maid, not unkindly.
"Have you been in this okiya for very long, my dear?" Okaa-san waved the girl up from her bowing position.

Kaida quickly stood up. "Yes...My name is Kaida. I have been here for around three days at the most...Umou-chan has tought me much...I have been waiting to meet you... Okaa-san..." She said looking up a little. " I have been cleaning the okiya as much as I could..."
She suddenly felt as if she offened the okiya. " Not like it was really dirty...I was just trying to help out as much as I could...Sorry if what I said had upsetted you..."

Kiada thought for a moment. " Okaa-san, may I please offer you something to eat as well as tea?" She asked. Bringing her eyes up alittle more. " Because it would be a great honer to serve you food..." Kaida started to gain a smile. " And the offer as well as the honer is exstened to you Umou-chan."

Okaa-san laughed lightly. "Well, the okiya can always use a good cleaning! You did very well, Kaida."
Okaa-san nodded. "I would just like some tea, for now, thank-you. And welcome to the okiya, Kaida. I do hope that you enjoy being part of our little family."
