Now switching to the Dog handsign, he found it a bit harder to focus into the slightly more complex nature of the sign itself. It took him a moment to realize this, but he had the sign reversed. After he figured this out and switched it to correct the mistake, he had no trouble boosting his chakra into the correct spots that he intended. He switched back to the Rat, and once again to the Dog before finally taking things up a notch into the Ox sign. This was by far the most difficult hand sign for him to make, do to the awkward angles this sign forced his hands to display.

At first, Rugan thought he had the Ox sign on the first try, but suddenly he lost control of his chakra flow and had to start over. This may have been due to over thinking the hand sign, or possibly over confidence in his ability to wield his own chakra. Either way, he needed to build it up again from scratch. So once again he formed the Rat sign, and then the Dog. This time, however, he switched to the Ram sign. This allowed him a little more time to focus before leading into the more difficult Ox sign.

" Rat, Dog, Ram, Ox, Bird " said Rugen as he made out each hand sign in order. Now with five signs in his sequence, he slowly began increasing the speed in which he switched between them. It wasn't a matter of twisting his hands into the correct shape, for he had already mastered doing that. Twisting his chakra into the correct formation was a different story though. Combining his chakra control with the speed necessary to pull of jutsu in the heat of battle.

After many repetitious attempts to form each hand sign in order while also concentrating his chakra into the correct form, Rugen finally got the pattern down. " Rat, Dog, Ram, Ox, Snake. Rat, Dog, Ram, Ox, Snake. Rat, Dog, Ram, Ox, Snake! " He repeated the chant over and over again, shape shifting his chakra to match each of the hand signs. " Now it's time to change things up a bit. " He said, designing a new pattern of signs in his head. It was still necessary to pick set of signs that flowed with his chakra instead of against it. " Ram, Ox, Dog, Snake, Rat " He said, fumbling with the hand signs the first time. " Maybe... Ox, Dog, Ram, Rat, Snake! " he said, this time nailing each of the signs perfectly. Despite the fact that he was only using five of the twelve common hand signs, the order of these five could make all the difference when preforming a jutsu.

Again and again, Rugen repeated the signs, but now he didn't stop. It was a constant flow rather than just sets. "Ox, Dog, Ram, Rat, Snake, Ox, Dog, Ram, Rat, Snake, Ox, Dog, Ram, Rat, Snake! " he chanted along with the movements of his fingers. He was getting faster now, able to move without thinking. But remembering patterns wasn't the point of his exercise. It was once again time to change the pattern, but this time the goal would be to add mental speed to the equation. Now, not only was his goal to physically make the hand signs as well as shaping his chakra to match those signs, but also to come up with a new, constantly changing series of hand signs, though sticking to his base 5. " Ox, Ram, Rat, Snake, Dog, Ram, Ox, Snake, Rat, Dog, Ox, Snake, Rat, Dog, Ram... "

((Your doing this wrong.

DC for hand signs = 10
And you do 1d20+int to determine your score, then if that number is greater than 10 you learn that handsign.))

(I'm not learning hand signs. My character already knows them. He's training the control of his chakra, and it just happens to involve hand signs.)

Rugen continued practicing these signs for over an hour, taking a break every now and then to rest. He finally arrived at the conclusion that it was time to up the difficulty another level. It was now time to add a sixth sign to the mix. " Ox, Ram, Bird, Snake, Rat, Dog, Ram, Snake, Bird, Ox, Dog, Rat, Snake, Bird, Ox, Ram, Rat, Dog, Snake, Ram, Dog, Bird, Rat, Ox... " He continued forming hand signs until he was out of breath, and could no longer call out the sign name as he formed to sign. Adding the sixth sign was taking a lot out of him, increasing the amount of work he was preforming by 1/5th. " Almost done. Just a little more practice and I will have mastered this set of signs. " he said to reassure himself of his progress.

All of a sudden, Rugen back flipped on to his feet. " It's time to rap this up. " he said, taking his stance for one last time. He began running through the hand signs again, this time, pushing himself back to the speed he hand when he was only using 5 signs. " Bird, Dog, Ram, Ox, Snake, Rat, Ox, Bird, Ram, Rat, Dog, Snake, Rat, Bird, Dog, Snake, Ox, Ram!! " he said, bringing his hands together for the final sign. " That's it! " he exclaimed. He had mastered the ability to let his chakra flow through six of the twelve hand signs. This was not something that ever genin could have claimed to accomplished.

Rugen took a moment to appreciate his achievement before taking a seat on the ground once more. He had accomplished more than he set out to do on this day already, and there was still plenty of time left in the day to spend. " So.. I wonder when the village will get around to assigning me another mission. It's probably not on the top of their to-do list. Finding me a team sure isn't.. "

You're right. It is wrap. but 27 is a reasonable Dc because i haft to include my Int mod and chakra control to whatever i roll. No matter what your stats are, while doing this training you haft to roll a 10 or higher in order to meet the DC.

( What's even the point of putting stats into the equation even, still a kage has the same chance it seems from that to do than than a genin. )

Rugen sat for a while, simply enjoying the mild weather and biding his time. After half an hour passed, Rugen felt recharged and ready to continue his training. " Well, nothing's happening here. I think i'll go see what's happening back in the village. " And with that, he was gone. Running full speed back to the village.

Taka walked silently through the grove to the designated meeting spot, he could not afford to be found, not in a situation like this. Once he reached the spot h sat down at the base of a tree, and gave it three taps with the side of his Katana sheath. If Shizoni was here, he should here the message and appear shortly. He should already be here though, Taka was the late one hre, not Shizoni.
