((Yet another post in this seemingly never-ending chapter of Clever's boredom.. Lol, I think I;m the only one that reads these things. lol ))
"That was excellent! You are a great fighter indeed! I felt you clambering for a hold on saidin, so i stopped you. I wanted to see wht you could truly do without the crutch of Channeling. I think I would like to arrange a few more battles before I give you over. I would like to play with you a while longer."
Speaking with a child's voice, in a child's body, the words that issued forth were frightening. Who was this boy? What was this boy? The Fade that was still thrashing about on the ground had called him, Nae'Blis. So his name wasn't Dorian. Peering at the child, Yurin noticed that his eyes spoke volumes of experiences that couldn't have possibly been accomplished by someone of his young age. As he was looking at his eyes, he saw an odd effect. Several black dots went voving across his eyes from one eye into the other. What was that? Were his own eyes playing tricks on him? How could this child have stopped him from holding the One Power? Not Shielded, he simply couldn't reach it.
"Who are you?"
He asked, frustrated and angry over the simplicity of his capture. Wag a treat under a dog's nose... This boy, however.. He was most definitely like no child that Yurin had ever known.
"My name is unimportant, though, if you must, you may call me by this body's name, Dorian. I feared that you weren't coming. I have Watchers in the city and those foolish Friends of the Dark that led you here, my 'parents' almost overplayed their roles. Luckily, I judged you correctly, quick to play the hero, the knight riding off to save the innocent. HA! Fool! Did you know that with a circle of thirteen Channeling through a Fade that I can turn a Channeler to the Dark? I bet you didn't, You will know of that soone enough, however. I have plans for you, boy.. Oh, I have plans. Take him!"
Two Myrdraals appeared at his sides out of the shadows, their strong hands gripping the thrashing Gaidin like he was a babe, unable to budge from their grasp, he was helpless. Realizing the futility, he cesed his struggles, it would only increase his heartrate and send the poison of the black blade that much faster through his system. At least he had that comfort. He hadn't given up hope yet, but should it come to it, he wouldn't be one of the Dark One's tools for long. The thought reached him sadly, he hated breaking his promise to Clarissa, but if it meant that or betraying her against his will, he'd rather perish and be remembered fondly as a bringer of the Light and a true Gaidin to the end.
"Don't harm him, pets. I have many uses for him. He is the Warder to the Amyrlin.. I will be able to use that bond. The Tower is mine! Shackle him with that other 'Aes Sedai' and her Warder. That way he can have some company."
A sick, cruel, hollow laugh issued from the child's mouth in a child's voice filled with a man's evil. It disgusted Mog. He wished that there was some way that he could close his ears to it, it was unnerving.
As he was chained into the cell with the same two corpses that he had met previously, he greeted them and said how nice it was that they'd be able to share such quality time together. The Eyeless removed his weapons and hung them from the wall, agonizingly close, not a span from his hand. He strained to reach saidin, but found it as accessible as when he had fought the Halfman earlier. Deciding that he had most definitely bitten off more than he could handle alone, he pushed a silent sending to his Aes Sedai. He needed her to know something of what was occurring. Wishing that he could send more than raw thoughts and that they had taken the time to test the limits of their dual bond, Mog cursed that he had treated Dreaming with such disdain, he had cut off the only two paths that could inform others of his predicament. The skill of Dreaming would be highly useful right about now.((hint, hint))

Nekoyasha_Skiiy Skiiy approaches Kakashi slowly, taking in the man's situation. He looked pretty tired from training, but Skiiy had the feeling that, if threatened, he could still hold his own against many an opponent before going down. Skiiy wonders about his heightened awareness for a moment, then figures that constantly keeping a close watch on how someone was feeling would probably raise his senses over time. Skiiy hadn't known Kakashi for very long, for he had not been at the Tower for a long time, but no full Warders were available, and Kakashi was highly-skilled, and not busy with something. "Kakashi, I need you to do me a favor. I have to go away for what could be a while, I'll be back eventually, I just want you to take care of new warders, moving them in and such, you know, that sort of thing, until I get back. You think you can handle that buddy? I'll understand if you decline..." Skiiy awaits a response, either way, so that he can go pack for his trip. (( I'm afraid to say, Skiiy, that you have done a double post, about eight hours apart from the first one. O_o;...I did respond to the first one, however. ^_^; ))

Clarissa felt sudden aggression and concentration coming from the other end of the bond. It had to mean he was fighting. What is going? She felt that Yurin was in trouble and needed her but where was he how could she find him? "Maybe just maybe I could find him in his dream, but what if he's not asleep? It's worth a try. She mutters thinking If he breaks his promise and dies nothing the Dark One could do to him would compare to what she would. She lay down on the damp grass and put herself to sleep seeking the sea of dreams. She looked around the sea of bright dream dots searching for one belonging to Yurin. If he was awake there was nothing she could do. ((Hint hint. I read them and they make me sad because they are excellent and mine are bad. I promise you when I do writing other than roleplay its much much better than any of my roleplay.))

((EDITED: I decided I'd make it easier for COTM to post if I threw a dream in there.. Bear with me, I couldn't think of anything so it's pretty silly... No, really. I'm a dork, people like me shouldn't be allowed to post on Gaia.))
((MUAHAHA! Enter the construction of the continued, convoluted, confusing conundrum of confusion that is Clever's mind! Tune in as we endure yet another extension of his ramblings... rolleyes ))
Hanging there in the small cell, his companions staring blankly at the open doorway, Yurin felt the pangs of failure for the first time in a long time. Here he was. In way over his head, in something he didn't have even the slightest inkling of a clue about. Why did they want him? Who was that boy, really? Why did he get an itch on his side when he couldn't reach it?! He let his head fall back against the wall behind him, a solid thud sounded in the room as it conneted, his eyes stared as expressionless as the Aes Sedai and her Gaidin as he tried to think of a way to salvage the wrecke he had made of what began as a very simple plan.
He felt a nagging sensation in his mind. Like there was something he should be doing, or rather.. no, there was something someone else wanted him to do! He could feel Clarissa, that ball of emotion, could feel a fervent desire from her, something he had come to realize was not something normally felt through the Aes Sedai bond, it was special for him having bonded her, as well. He couldn't quite place what she wanted of him. It was the first time he had been faced with trying to know what she wanted of him without speaking to her directly. She wanted to go to sleep? Why would she want something so fervently that he felt it through their bond, and it was for some rest? Here he was, dangling from an insane child's chains in the Dark One's own sanctuary, saidin had eluded him, and he could feel his muscles twitching and convulsing slightly as the Halfman's blade took it's toll.
Wait, that made no sense. He concentrated hardedr, focusing on her need.. him. She needed him? She needed him?!? No, that wasn't right either, he thought after jerking at his bonds ineffectively, shaking them and throwing himself about in a rather foolish fashion. His blood was moving swifter from his actions, he could feel the blackness sludging through his system. It made him tired.. That was it! She wanted him to sleep! She wanted to meet with him! He was so excited at the prospect, it became difficult for him to claim sleep, no wonder considering, usually, sleep had to claim him.
Mog decided it was time to go back to basics. Clearing his mind, Mog entered a meditative state that was the beginnings of learning to wield the One Power. Interestingly enough, it was also the way they taught bow shooting in Shienar, odd concept. He would have to ask when he saw the Lord Dragon next.. If there was a next. He slowly slid into unconsciousness from his lack of sleep, continual fighting, and the relaxation of his meditation. In the back of his mind, as he drifted off, he hoped that uncosciousness was the same as sleeping....He drifted off to a troubled, dream-filled sleep.
Trollocs, Fades, Darkhounds, and Draghkar were chasing him and he was in his smallclothes, couldn't Channel and only had a child's toy sword to defend himself with. Shouting obscenities, he tried to cover himself with one hand, hurl little pickles at his pursuers (which strangely deterred them long enough for him to dash away again and locate more pickles) Trying to free a hand, he tucked the toy blade into the waist of his smallclothes only tslice, neatly through the slim band. Cursing profusely, he was now trying to hold onto his dignity, along with a toy, while running and throwing pickles at Shadowspawn.. This was just not Yurin's day...
((YAY! Someone reads my inane thoughts! Don't be sad, I just enjoy writing long tedious messages that people read and are like WTF is this guy talkin about?! Thank you VERY much for the compliment, though. I love hearing critiques on my writing, it makes me a better writer. Compliments add to my confidence, constructive criticism helps me improve. It's a win-win situation! 4laugh ))

After Skiiy left her room, Katerine moved toward her room to pack. She felt him getting farther away through the bond and she couldn't stop the growing smile across her lips. It amazed her at how she had only met him a few hours ago and already he was her warder. She didn't question it though, because odder things had happened in her life.
Now in her bedroom, Katerine once again took out her saddlebags and began to pack. Normal necessities such as clothing was put neatly into the bags, but it seemed to be an equal amount of dresses as there were breeches and shirts. Katerine just thought it was easier to be in men's clothing when gone for such a long time. Various other things followed the clothing, but she could still manage to carry her saddlebags if need be.
Finished with her packing, she placed the saddlebags near the door to the small sitting room. Taking up the book from the Library, Katerine searched for her own small notebook and walked back into the sitting room. Next to the fireplace was her writing desk and she sat down and began to copy what the book said into her notes with a neat hand. Everything she had learned or needed to know about was written in that small notebook which never left her person. As she wrote, there was a small knock at the door that she failed to notice.

Vancelle spent the entire evening in her study and slowly putting things to right. She had spoken to enough sisters to go ahead with the testing that would take place tomorrow. Finally satisfied with all she had accomplished, Vancelle headed toward her rooms. Before entering her own though, she gave a slight knock on Katerine's door. After no response, she cracked open the door and found the other woman at her desk. Opening the door and walking in, Vancelle was almost on top of her friend before the other woman turned around.
"It's nice to finally see you Katerine. Though I had always thought you were a little more attentive to your surroundings. I was about to tap you on the shoulder."
Katerine gave Vancelle an indigent look that only made Vancelle quirk and eyebrow. With another look to the woman's face, questions started forming in her mind. There was something different in the woman's eyes, almost as if she had finally been relieved of a heavy load she had been carrying for a long time. Knowing that she would not get any answers without asking, Vancelle pulled up a chair and sat down facing Katerine.
"What have you been up to? I haven't seen you all day. Then I come in and see you. Something is going on, now what is it?"

Hearing the slight footsteps after hearing the door open, Katerine knew it was Vancelle. She didn't turn to face her though until Vancelle was almost right behind her. A smile crossed her lips which quickly turned indigent at Vancelle's prodding. Still writing in her notebook, Katerine finished the page and turned to face Vancelle who now sat next to her.
"Oh, I have been everywhere today. I was actually getting a lot done. I managed to find the meaning to the symbol."
Seeing her friend's curiosity grow, Katerine continued. Vancelle had always known about Katerine's various happenings and the symbol had always been a favorite interest of hers.
"It is a symbol for the ancient Aes Sedai. The book says that it was put on things that the Aes Sedai made or provided aid in making. That explains why almost all the ter'angreal and angreal I have found have the symbol on them. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out anything about the city, but I'm leaving to go there tomorrow."

Before Katerine could go on, a surprised look crossed Vancelle's face and she blurted out a response.
"Tomorrow?! But I thought you were going to stay in the Tower and rest for a while. Also, you were going to look for a warder. I don't think it is a good idea that you go running off all by yourself just because you know the meaning of the symbol. You even said yourself that it is too dangerous in that city for an Aes Sedai to be without a warder."
As the knowing smile crossed her friend's face, Vancelle slowly stopped talking. She knew that certain smile could have various meanings, but at least she wasn't laughing at her. Katerine had a tendency to do that when Vancelle would go off on a tangent.
What does she have up her sleeve now? Katerine is unpredictable as the future which sounds odd because she sometimes glimpses the future. Oh, I swear, one day I am going to understand what she means by those smiles.

As Vancelle talked on, Katerine couldn't keep the smile off of her face. She knew it infuriated Vancelle, but it was part of her nature. Once her friend had grown quiet, she started in a calm voice.
"I know I said that and I took care of that problem. I have a warder now. His name is Skiiy and I only bonded him a little while ago."
The growing surprise on Vancelle's face was enough to make Katerine laugh which she did. She always thought it was funny how Vancelle was so intelligent, but could look so confused after Katerine told her something.

Surprised tracked across her face and Katerine's laughing made her blush, but she soon recovered her senses. Though Vancelle couldn't help but stare wide-eyed at Katerine.
"You bonded...Skiiy? He's the Master-at-Arms! How did you manage that one?"
Vancelle stared a few more seconds at Katerine and interrupted her before she began to speak.
"No, nevermind. I think I know how you did that. And as always, I will not understand how even if you explain it a thousand times. So this means you will be leaving. It's a shame that you are always gone. I don't think I have ever seen you take a real break unless you are passed out on your bed."
She stopped talking for a few moments and looked at Katerine. Once again, she saw the relief that was in her friend's eyes. She hoped that Skiiy was right for her. If he wasn't able to deal with implusiveness, he was going to have a difficult time with Katerine. The same went for if he didn't like to travel.
"I happy that you found a warder. You seem more relaxed now and happier. Almost like when we were still novices."

At Vancelle's comment, a genuine smile crossed Katerine's lips. She knew that Vancelle was always worried about her, but Katerine purposely didn't tell her everything to keep her safe. She would have felt horrible to be the reason why Vancelle was harmed in anyway.
"I am happier. It's easier going about things when I know that I have someone watching my back. But since we are leaving tomorrow, I need to get some rest. I'm sorry that I didn't stay long, but I feel like time is running out for me to figure out what is so important about that city."
Vancelle nodded and rose silently. Katerine followed her movements and they hugged.
"Just do me one favor, Katerine. Stay safe. I would hate to receive a note saying that you were killed."
"You know I will. I have survived so far."
"Only by the skin of your teeth half of the time."
"Well at least I know my teeth are healthy."
Vancelle started laughing at Katerine's remarks which started Katerine laughing. They hugged each other tightly once more before Vancelle walked toward the door. Katerine watched as her friend exited the room and shut the door quietly behind her.
Now that Vancelle was gone, Katerine put her notebook back in its pocket and walked to her bedroom. She changed into her nightgown and laid down in the big, soft bed.
Well, things are finally starting to look up. Vancelle didn't seem half as upset at my leaving this time; and I'm not going to have to look over my shoulders constantly. I may actually get some more done this time.
With that thought, Katerine shielded her dreams and drifted off into sleep.

Even though she knew that Katerine was going to be considerably safer now than before, she couldn't help but worry about her friend. Vancelle just didn't want her to be hurt for she was more like a sister than anything else. After shutting the door to Katerine's rooms though, she walked silently to her own.
Vancelle's rooms were similar to Katerine's. The furniture was a little different, but the rooms were functional with few frills and lace. Even though she had wished to talk longer, Vancelle knew that Katerine needed to sleep as much as she did. All the running around from today had wore her out. It was not going to be much better tomorrow. Vancelle was still going to be running around the Tower.
Walking into her bedroom, she heaved a sigh and slowly got ready to sleep. Once she was in bed, it only took her a few moments to close her eyes before she drifted off to sleep. Taking over being the Mistress of Novices was proving to be more difficult than Vancelle thought, but she just needed to get through the first few weeks of chaos.
