"Same person, last name," Takeshi explained. "As for what was out there, I'd hope it was far enough away not to really affect us..."

"Thats good." Keilven responded "Now then, are you two with the Cabal? My host's name is Jacob, but since I've taken charge, people know me as Keilven. I was with shadow enchanter learning squad when we 'died', and I'm trying to find them again."

"Yes, we are. As for that squad, not many of us have reawakened yet and we have very little way of knowing who will be awakening in the future," Takeshi told Keilven.

"Okay then. And thank you, Takeshi for not shooting me on the spot. I see you’re both uptight. What’s going on?" Keilven asked, moving closer to the pair. "Also, I believe I don't your name, miss." Keilven added, addressing the woman.

"If you hadn't been so busy breaking into my office you might have noticed my name on the-"
Agnese fell to her knees screaming.
Blood everywhere, pain, misery, four hulking figures of darkness and the deaths of employees, innocents and the guilty.
And then, she was back in her office, nails digging into the carpet as the pain faded away. She stood quickly (staying on her feet surprisingly enough) and started pulling on the japanese man's arm.
"We need to leave," She said to Takeshi. "They're coming, four, I'm not a fighter, we need to leave!"

Takeshi made a mental note to try his empathic copying on her later as he felt the four demons she had mentioned approaching.
"She's right, they're closing on us. Son of a b***h, we have to go now, if we get trapped at the top of this building we'll be in deep s**t, come on!" he looked around for any exit other than leaving the building normally. He saw none, but it occurred to him Agnese might know some way he didn't.

"What’s coming?" Keilven asked, startled by Agnese's sudden drop to the floor, "Where are we going?" Keilven continued asking questions as he followed Takeshi. "I don't know any battle magic!"
((Utilizing spell check now...good to know. Bad luck and all.))

((If Keilven would use the proper forms of "you're" and "your" and place apostrophes properly, the Council of 27 would be most pleased. <_< >_> So, yeah.))
"Demons? Something like that," Takeshi answered. "I know battle magic but these things are out of our league. Agnese, I think they're entering the building, is there any way out other than down?"

"Yeah," Agnese nodded, pulling her head together. "This is a law firm built by a mafia family. We get attacked fairly often so we actually have this," she moved over to her file cabinet that held her shoes and started pushing on it to reveal a short, thin door than looked like part of the wall if you ignored the seams and inlaid handle.
Sh opened the entrance to the escape shaft. "It leads straight to the parking lot in the back."
<(Ooh, take your unlces Lambourghini!)> Ana encouraged.
(>I don't think now is the best time<) Agnese scolded as she grabbed her purse...and her uncles car keys. Without saying another word she ducked into the exitway, forgetting she'd worn a miniskirt.

Sporadic gunfire came from downstairs.
"Sounds like they might be held off for long enough for us to get down there. I assume it can be sealed behind us?" Takeshi asked.
((Relevant random question: How do you descend the shaft?))

((Well, our newest friend said it was on the first floor, but Aggy is a soon to be CEO, so she'd actually be on the top floor sweatdrop I guess it's a steep staricase that goes in an L shape til it reaches ground floor. The exit door just looks like a normal sized steel door.))
"Uhm...I'm not sure," Agnese said as she went forward down the stairs. "I was sort of at Betty Ford when it was installed."
<(Crackhead)>
(>Sober!<)
"Let's just go forward for now shall we?" She winced as she heard screams of men and women alike. It was so much worse in reality than in a vision.

Loud echoes came from the bottom of the tunnel.
Takeshi focused on the techniques Legion had made him emulate dozens of times, in order to help Takeshi in his role as a "specialist" operative. He differentiated every mana signal, down to even the tiny pulse of mana from each individual human soul. Then he isolated the steady stream from the demons, with the occasional fluctuations as they used magic, calling Unreality into this plane.
He launched a small glowing ball out the window from his hand. It dropped several floors and released a mana pulse. Takeshi felt the echoes and mentally mapped the position of every sentient being in a perfectly accurate 3d mental model of the building.
"The bad news is, one of them has found the door and is coming to see what's up it. The good news is, there's only one. I can also raise the bodies on the ground floor to buy us more time. For now, our problems are to be solved with automatic weaponry." Takeshi pulled an HK MP5K from between the back of his omnipresent leather jacket and his shirt, unhooking straps sewn into the lining of the jacket. "Guy with the gun leads, I suggest?"

"By all means," Agnese said, pressing herself close to the wall of the tunnel. "Do whatever it takes. I'll heal you up if anything goes south."
She turned to Keilven and pursed her lips. She didn't trust him at her back right now and if she went with her gut, she'd likely never trust him.
((It's late and I'm going to a football game tommorrow. Part of the reason I can't think up good replies right now. Gonna see the Raiders play the Cardinals))

"Wonderful," Takeshi spoke with a wry smile. "Let's see, then... he's down there, so..." Takeshi began calculating where would be best for him to ambush the demon, whose senses were likely not as finely tuned as Takeshi's were. He picked on a spot and began to walk silently down the stairs.

Keilven noticed Agnese's expression, and as much as he'd like to follow Takeshi down the stairs, he knew he wouldn't be able to help against a demon, so he stayed back with Agnese.
