Sabrina raised an eyebrow as the boy complimented her. She wasn't quite certain how to react to him at the moment, and she grew further confused when he hugged her. She accepted it, however; a calm Mike was better than a babbling, incessantly cackling Mike.

Nina, however, did welcome Mike's hug. She enjoyed having the human side of Mike being around, but it wasn't something that she intended on getting used to. When asked about Anna, she thought for a moment before replying. "Oh. Um." Pause. "Anna was tired, so she went back into her Pokeball." That was a terrible lie, as Anna stayed out of her Pokeball as often as humanly possible. She wondered if Mike would buy it.

Kasiya breathlessly stepped through the sliding doors moments after her friends did, knowing Mitsu would be right behind her, and after a quick glance around she saw them both at the front desk, giving the nurse some Pokemon for healing. She could only assume they'd gotten into a battle or two and she considered heading over to the computers in the corner to figure out what to do with Sirrus, but a somewhat-familiar person had taken up a spot next to Keegan and Sasha, though this time unintentionally. Though she normally wouldn't try to eavesdrop, she couldn't help but overhear him when he gave Proton's Pokeball to the nurse. She wheeled around to see her two friends already accosting the man, and she didn't hesitate in joining the fray and she quickly squeezed in between Keegan and Sasha. She looked up at the man, his features quite familiar to her, and finally her face lit up when she realized his identity. "I know who you are!" she cried, pointing up at the bespectacled man almost accusingly. "You're Blaine!" This had already been established, apparently, because Keegan spoke as though he'd known the whole time. She bit her lower lip, very much curious as to why a gym leader from Kanto had one of her best friend's Pokemon. "Please," she said, her tone pleading. "Do you know where Mike is? Can you please tell us?" She fought back tears as she looked up at the man imploringly. "He needs his friends. He needs us. You have to tell us where he is. Please!"

At any other point, Mike's mind would have easily focused on only the most horrible possibilities behind his lack of memory, but seeing as his two friends were here, no scorch marks, no signs of abuse, he figured that Nina was telling the truth. However, he did notice that Nina was sweating a good deal more than Sabrina was. "Volcano's hot, isn't it?" he said with a smirk. "Not for me! Even without my new powers I could easily live in one of these! I love volcanoes." Mike walked a few steps away and threw his arms out as if to give the mountain a hug. "I love you volcano!" As he smiled ear to ear as he professed his love to the mountain, another thought entered his mind.

"Hey Nina!" Mike said, suddenly very excited. "Do you wanna battle? Just a friendly, quick, best two out of three? So like, each match we use different Pokemon, and the first to win two wins? But no prize money or anything. I need my money for something really important." He pulled his lips in and gave Nina puppy dog eyes. "Please please?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 21, 2010 4:48 pm

Nina smiled, and chuckled a little bit. "Mike, I would be very glad to have a battle with you," she replied. "And stop with the puppy dog eyes; you don't have to pull them on me." Mulling over her sparse array of Pokemon, Nina ran her fingers along her belt of Pokeballs. She stopped on one of them, her smile still prevalent. "It's been a mighty long time since I've used this guy," she said, enlarging the Safari Ball. Throwing it, she released the beast that was inside.

Pookie sat on the ground, using his hind leg to scratch behind his ear.

Mitsu trailed Kasiya into the Pokemon Center, spotting the unfamiliar man and her two friends as she walked through the door. The situation quickly heated up and soon they were all accusing the man of knowing Mike's whereabouts. Once she'd caught wind that it was Blaine, it all because clear. It made sense, he was perhaps the most respected Fire type trainer in the entire Pokemon community, more so than Flannery or even her grandfather. It was only natural that Mike would have found refuge with him.

It wasn't long until all the emotions and fear bubbled up inside of her. She had previously pushed all the emotions away when it came to Mike. She felt terribly sorry for the boy and she wished that he was all right, though that wish was something that was very far from being reality. Mitsu was visibly shaking, the thought of being face to face with the boy was becoming very real with each passing second. She never stopped caring for the boy, though outwardly she seemed the least phased of her friends. Mike. Mike. Mike. Mike. Mike. Mike her voice screamed over and over. She needed to see him, she needed to let him know that she was there for him too.

The purple haired girl found herself standing next to Sasha and for some reason there was an odd tension she could feel between the two. Mitsu brushed it off, it wasn't important right now. In fact it was the least of her worries. Mike's welfare was all she could worry about now. She looked up to Blaine. "I know Mike is with you. You're the only person he would turn to being the great Fire type trainer that you are," her voice softened as she continued, "Mike loves Fire types you know?" Mitsu paused before speaking again, "Will you please just take us to him?"

Sam had changed out of her blue dress, and into a flowy purple shirt and jeans she had found at a small store in Ecruteak. She had also exchanged her green boots for purple ones to match her new shirt. As she re-entered the Pokemon Center to let Kya know she was ready to go, she pulled the hairtie out of her hair and shook it out. There, now she felt more like her old self. Ecruteak was familiar to her, and so she felt much more comfortable. She saw Kya sitting at one of the couches, guarding their packs and Pokeballs. She noticed Aiden swinging around on the hanging lamps. Sam sat next to Kya, and glanced quizzically at her. Kya shrugged, never taking her eyes off of the baby Aipom.

"He needed the exercise," she said as an explanation.

"In the Pokemon Center? You couldn't wait until we left?"

"Hey, Pokemon are allowed out of their Pokeballs in here, they can't get mad at me for having a rambunctious Pokemon who enjoys playing."

"I guess you're right," Sam said, backing down. Now was not the time to fight over something so inane. She stood, and shouldered her pack. "Well lets get going. Are we going to go through National Park?"

"Yeah that would be the quickest way to Goldenrod," Kya said snippily, apparently a little upset by Sam's nitpicking. Sam sighed.

"I was just wondering whether I should prepare for a long journey or not. But National Park is fairly close, so we shouldn't be worried," Sam said, her voice remaining calm and soothing. Kya stood up and recalled Aiden, the momentary flash of irritation in her eyes fading. The bubbly Kya was returning.

"Oh of course! Right, sorry about that. I guess I don't really take criticism about my Trainer skills well." Kya headed to the door, and turned. Sam hadn't moved. "Well you comin or what?" Sam didn't hear her. Her mind had gone strangely devoid of thought, and was replaced by a routine: 1...2...3....4...5...

"Huh?"

"Are you comin?!"

"Oh, uh-huh!" Sam shook her head. She hadn't realized she had zoned out so easily. She had just been counting the overhead lights. 'Why was I doing that?' she wondered to herself. Then she noticed she was thinking in a British accent. 'How very odd! Where has my brain gone?' She shook her head again.

"Sam!" Sam finally looked at Kya, who was now staring with concern at Sam's disconcertingly blank face.

"Yeah...yeah I'm coming."

"What was that?"

"No idea. My brain kinda went floooooossh," she said, making odd hand gestures resembling an explosion. Kya raised an eyebrow and nodded slowly.

"Okay? Are you seriously crazy?" She said it jokingly.

"Maybe, not entirely sure!" Sam said, very brightly but entirely serious. Kya's smile faded ever so slightly.

"Lets get going."

------

A few minutes later they were leaving the Ecruteak City limits. Sam glanced back at the Tin Tower, sad she had not been able to explore it. 'Maybe some other time...' Sam remained silent as Kya lead the way, leaping over bushes and ledges, meandering through the tall grass. Sam noticed she always kept left. Sam took that to mean Kya didn't really know the exact route, only that if you went left you ended up at National Park, and if you went right you ended up in Violet City. Sam was surprised a Goldenrod native did not know the Routes around here. Then again, maybe she was just really bad with directions. Sam's mother was the same way. As they entered through the little gate that allowed visitors into the Park, she noticed a few people running towards the exits. Kya noticed them as well, and looked back at Sam.

"What do you think that's all about?" Sam asked, waving her arm towards the approaching people, and accidentally smacking one in the face. "Oh god, sorry! I didn't mean-" The man didn't even stop. Sam stood still, dumbfounded. Kya, meanwhile, craned her neck and saw a scene unfolding. Two ghostly pokemon seemed to be scaring a man, but she couldn't make out any of the details.

"Well we could go around. We don't have to go through here," she said, hoping she let just enough fear show that Sam would agree and they could go around. Sam, however, was oblivious to the fear.

"Why? There are tons of Trainers here, I'm sure they can fix this. We don't have to be part of it. Cmon." Sam gestured Kya forward, towards the Ghost Pokemon."

==============

Zolin's belly was scraped from the repeated attacks, and Eztli knew he was wearing down quickly. But he still wouldn't wake up. Eztli was quickly growing more frustrated, though it didn't show. Back in Azalea, the other children had been amazed that Eztli could keep her cool in the face of danger, but really she was just skilled at keeping it hidden. She was very calm, but she was still human. Eztli wanted dearly for the little Cubone to wake up, just for a moment, so she could recall him and send out Xipil. But until he awoke, she was firm on letting him stay out in battle. "Zolin, if you can hear me, I need you to wake up. Use Headbutt!" Zolin's bone was still trapped by the Drowzee's Disable, and Eztli knew she was pretty much out of options. Zolin twitched in his sleep, and Eztli allowed herself a little hope. But then he relaxed again, though his breathing remained labored. The Drowzee, seemingly unaffected by everything that had transpire, began to walk away from the battle, thinking it won. But then it turned, apparently changing its mind. It's eyes glowed fiercely once more, the ghastly aura returning around Zolin's battered body. Suddenly, Zolin's eyes flew open, and he leaped to his feet, only to be knocked down by the Confusion attack. Zolin's eyes were full of raw panic as he realized how hurt he really was. He turned his gaze towards where he thought Eztli was. Eztli saw him, his fearful expression, and quickly brought up the Zolin's pokeball. She pressed the center button and the red light quickly surrounded Zolin's form, wracked with pain. The Drowzee's eyes remained expressionless, but it cried out in anger, having lost it's target.

"DrowZEE!"

"Eztli, are you going to send out Xipil now?" Scott asked, plainly intrigued by the battle, no matter his personal feelings about Eztli's skills. Eztli didn't respond with words, instead pulling out Xipil's pokeball.

"Xipil, use Faint Attack!" The Pokeball opened with a bright white light, but nothing emerged. The Drowzee watched it questioningly, but then suddenly spun around, sensing Xipil's presence a moment too late. Xipil raked her little claws across the Drowzee's face, which fell back in pain. The Drowzee drew itself up, clearly surprised and angered by the power in it's new opponent. The Drowzee's eyes glowed blue as it's hands created strange symbols. Eztli recognized it from earlier as Hypnosis. Not again...Hoping Xipil would listen to her better then Zolin did, she called out her order.

"Xipil use-" Her pokedex beeped. 'Again?' she thought. She didn't have time to pull it out. "Scott! Check to see what my dex says! Xipil, dodge by throwing up a Smokescreen!" Xipil remarkably obeyed, exhaling thick black smoke that effectively blocked the Drowzee from locating it's target for the time being. Scott frantically searched Eztli's bag, not wanting to miss a moment. Pulling out the red and black dex, he glanced at the tiny notation.

"It says Xipil learned Fire Spin!" Eztli's mouth quirked in a small smile.

'Now that could be helpful,' she thought to herself.

As soon as Mike heard Nina's acceptance of his battle proposal, he pulled out a Pokeball and shut his eyes. He put the ball in between his teeth and held his hands to his ears and screamed out 'LALALALALALALA!" as to keep Nina's choice a secret as he spit out the Pokeball onto the field. With a bright flash of light and a loud roar, Titanium was released onto the battlefield. Mike opened his eyes, seeing Nina's Rhyhorn. "Oh boy!" he cheered. "Lucky me!"

The Steelix took in a deep breath for another roar but stopped. Was that little blue speck he saw Nina? And was that little purple speck Sabrina? Oh happy day! Titanium let out a happy, yet still terrifyingly loud noise and waved with his tail.

"I know, I'm happy too buddy, but it's battlin' time! Let's start you off with a Curse!" Mike commanded. He wanted to start this fight off at Titanium's best.

The Steelix looked down at his opponent. Pookie! My, he hadn't seen him since...since Mike's Gym battle with Nina. But the pleasantries would have to wait. Titanium took in a deep breath and channeled a mysterious energy inside him. A heavy, but helpful magic was bestowed on him. He would move slower, but his offensive and defensive abilities were no doubt increased.

------

Alright! Sasha cheered at the sudden back-up. There's no way he can't tell us now! Drawing from all the energy from all her friends, Sasha stepped forward. "Confess, Blaine. We know you have h'eem. Take us!"

Blaine suddenly felt himself surrounded by kids all asking him questions at once. The two quiet ones he could have dealt with, but then this loud blonde girl and also loud purple-haired girl came in. It was too much. People were starting to stare, and talk amongst themselves. "N-now hold on a minute." the Gym Leader pleaded, adjusting his sunglasses, mentally kicking himself for opening his big mouth earlier. "Calm down, everyone. Let's all take a deep breath."

Sasha continued to glare at the man.

"It's true that Mike is staying with me." he lowered his voice, hoping that the kids would do the same. "He just showed up last night, tattered and bruised, ranting and raving about anything and everything. I felt bad for him so I told him I'd keep him hidden from prying eyes. The reason that I'm here in Sinnoh is because I was dropping off some documents to Professor Rowan, and I offered to help Proton evolve. The boy looked like hell ran him over, I figured bringing him back a newly evolved Pokemon would cheer him up. He's been through a lot." Blaine sighed. "He's back at the Gym now, training with his Pokemon. I left him in good hands. Not only does he have his Pokemon, but my Magmortar is looking after him. He's safe, I assure you."

Sasha let out a deep sigh of relief when she heard the news that Mike was alright. "C'est un soulagement. But Monsieur Blaine, you must take us to h'eem. Like Kass said, he needs us!"

"Alright alright!" The Gym Leader held his hands up defensively. "Just let me get Proton back from the nurse and we'll be on our way!" Even though the group had somewhat calmed down, he still felt under pressure. The man tugged at his collar.

Nina smiled a little, waving to the behemoth that was Titanium. It had certainly been some time since she last saw him; should memory serve, her last experience with Titanium was when Mihoshi was nearly crushed under his weight. That was certainly an interesting day, she thought, diverting her gaze from Titanium to her own Pokemon. "Now listen, Pookie," she began, "I know that you're friends with Titanium, but this is a battle, okay? I don't want you to hold back! Show him what you can do!"

Pookie hopped to his feet-- quite literally-- and seemed to have a broad smile on his face. He ran around in circles, unable to contain his excitement at seeing his friend. Nina's eye twitched. "Pookie, listen to me!" she yelled. "This is serious business, sort of! Now, I want you to open up with an Earthquake attack!"

Yes, Pookie thought. Earthcakes.

Cakescakescakes. I like cakes.

I wonder if Titanium likes cakes too.

I wonder if I can call him Num-Num. Would he get mad?

Numnumnumnumnumnum. It sounds silly. Num-Num.

Silly and cute.

I wonder if Nina thinks I'm cute.

I can be really cute sometimes.

I know! I'll show Nina how cute I can be!

Pookie bent down, waggling his tail at Titanium.

Nina looked obscenely mortified.

Kilik clapped his hands. "Very impressive stuff, Drifloon!" He turned to Treecko and knelt down beside her, patting her on the head. "You too, Treecko. I'm proud of you." He kissed the top of her scaly head and stood back up, looking back to Aggron and Chimchar. The two of them were still resting; at least Chimchar was. Aggron was still moving around sand and clumps of Earth to redo the battle field and make it a little different for their next round. The boy sat down on the grass and fell onto his back, looking up at the sky. He put his hands behind his head like a pillow and let out a content sigh. The weather was beautiful in Sinnoh. It wasn't too cold, or too hot. The breeze was perfect. The air was just as fresh here as it was in Verdanturf. Treecko hopped onto his stomach and curled up, using her tail like a pillow, nuzzling as close as she could to her trainer. The balloon floated down and lifted Kilik's head with his tassles and allowed his new traine to rest on him. When the boy's head went back down on the Drifloon, his head became a slight oval and his eyes spread out further.

Kilik crossed his ankles and tapped his feet against an imaginary something. This was the life. If he could just keep going on like this, he would be content. He yawned and clicked his tongue against his teeth. Perhaps a nap under the sun would be beneficial to everyone. "Hey, Chimchar. Aggron," he opened an eye and looked at them. "You guys stop. You can resume when I wake up." The small ape ran over to Kilik and growled, yet sighed. He was a lot more tired than he thought he was after stopping his training with Aggron. He sat next to his trainer and leaned against his side, nodding off almost instantly. Aggron stomped and came over to Kilik, getting in his trainer's face. He huffed. He didn't want to wait longer than twenty minutes! "Chill out," Kilik laughed, "You stand on guard, Aggron. Make sure nobody tries to take my Pokemon or my stuff." Fine. Aggron turned his back to Kilik and the sleeping Pokemon, looking as menacing as possible. It didn't take much for him to look absolutely frightening. The beast would rip anyone who dared disturb his trainer to shreds!

"Just an hour will do. Perfect nap duration..." He yawned and within moments, was out like a light.

Giovanni tapped on the green glass case that they had built especially to contain the Raichu Mai had sent them. The mouse looked scared out of it's mind, and that was his goal. "You've got enough voltage in those cheeks to take down a Dragonite in one zap!" he barked, "You're the perfect power source. Flip the switch, Albert!" He looked to one of the scientists, who nodded and pulled down a metal shaft to connect two sources together. The wires connected to Shocker's cheeks sparked for a moment, and began to drain electricity from the Pokemon. The whines coming from the small mouse Pokemon brought a smile to Giovanni's face.

"We'll keep you fed and taken care of," he explained to the mouse, standing up straight and putting his hands behind his back, "As long as you keep providing electricity to my new experiment. If you don't..." he chuckled darkly, "You can rest assured that the consequences aren't something you'd want to experience!" He turned and felt a vibration in his pocket. Pulling out his cell phone, he noticed a message from Mai, providing information on the new base she had just purchased in the Sinnoh Region.

"Perfect!" he clenched his fist around the device, "My hold on the world is getting stronger. And once I complete this Devolution Ray, I will have nothing to fear!"

"SIR!" barked a grunt, running into the lab. He took a glance at the Raichu in the case, who was now curled up, practically crying from the pain it was going through. "We believe to have found another relic in the Johto region, while we were looking through the Burned Tower for traces of the Legendary Pokemon!"

"What!?" Giovanni turned and began to laugh. This day was just getting better and better. "Take me there, now!" As he began walking with the Grunt and a few other Admins to act as security. As he walked, he sent Mai a message:

You have a new mission. While in Sinnoh, I want you to investigate if there is anything related to the Relic you found in Kanto. Upon further investigation, the Relic you brought back mentions a Pillar and One. We found the second in Johto, and I am on my way to recover it.
-Giovanni
PS. The base lacks your womanly touch. Perhaps you should drop by sometime to fix that.

He tucked the phone back into his pocket and got onto the helicopter, taking off from the Viridian City Gym silently. He crossed one leg over the other and smirked. Perfect.

Both trainer and Pokemon watched as Pookie exhibited Beacon-level intelligence. When the Rhyhorn decided shaking his booty was more tactically feasible than actually performing an attack, Mike lost it. The boy let loose a shrill, squeaky, overjoyed laughter. It was the first time in recent history he laughed at something that was genuinely hilarious, and not something else. Orange tears poured from his eyes as he held his stomach, unable to stop laughing. They hit the ground with a sizzle. "This-! This-! This has to be a strategy! A trick! HAHAHA! Please tell me you planned this, Nina! I'm dying! This is so much funnier from the other side!" Mike fell over, and tried his best to order his Pokemon to attack. After a few tries, he finally managed to squeak out an "Iron Tail" command.

Titanium, who had found the smaller Pokemon's antics to be most amusing, joined his trainer in a hearty laugh. He slammed the ground with his tail, causing the entire arena to shake and the chains to rattle. When he heard Mike's command for an attack, the Pokemon-just like his trainer-had to catch his breath for a moment before bringing down his glowing tail on top of the Rhyhorn's head. Sorry, young fellah, Titanium thought, still snickering at his opponent's silliness.

"Oof," Keegan mumbled as suddenly someone had muscled their way in between him and Sasha, though he wasn't at all surprised to see that it was Kasiya. He sighed and backed off a little now that the three girls seemingly had the situation under control. He was aware that some of the other patrons of the Pokemon Center were now staring at them, but like always, he shrugged it off. It didn't take long for Blaine to crack, surprisingly, and he took back Moeder and Helios from the nurse and handed Sasha her two Pokemon as well. "There you go," he said, once Blaine had agreed to take them to where he was hiding Mike, though in actuality, he had no real intentions of going, but then again, that sort of thing had been happening to him a lot lately. After all, he wasn't in Sinnoh because he wanted to be. He glanced towards the girls once again, fully agreeing with Kasiya's statement. Sure, Mike needed them - Kasiya, Mitsu, Sasha, - but the redhead was more than certain that he was one of the last people on the planet Mike wanted to see. He'd started to walk away, but stopped as his mind was again flooded by memories and images of his past friendship with Mike and Flannery. They'd had so many adventures back then - good and bad - and he sighed, his gaze now fixed on the floor. He remembered well the day he'd been approached by that b*****d from Team Magma, and he wished with all his might that he'd tried harder to convince Mike not to join them. That's the past, though, he thought, walking away from Blaine and the little group, shaking his head slightly, there isn't anything that can be done about it now, can there?

"Hey, Kassie," he called, waiting for the girl to look at him before continuing, "I'll be outside." He stepped through the sliding doors and out into the stale Jubilife air, walking just far enough to lean up against the side of the building. In that short time he'd lit up another smoke, this time hearing his mother's scolding voice in his mind, but he laughed it off. "Yeah, like he's really gonna wanna see me," he chuckled between drags, watching the ashes fall to the ground, though for some reason that even he was unaware of, he'd already subconsciously made the choice to go along. At some point Loki had found his way out of his PokeBall, and was now coiling himself around his trainer's legs, possibly for a trip attempt or a hug (as with Loki, one could never truly know for sure until it was too late). Keegan sighed and looked down at the Arbok, his green eyes eerily expressionless. "I just don't know anymore, Loki," he mumbled.

Nina covered her face with both hands out of embarrassment as not only Mike, but Titanium was also laughing at her Pokemon's antics. I can only hope that if Pookie sees the day when he finally evolves, that he'll develop some sort of intelligence, she thought. Nina kept her face covered as she heard the larger Pokemon slamming his tail down onto Pookie. I don't even know if I should look. After much hesitation, Nina slowly removed her hands from her face, looking to the arena; she saw Pookie sitting on the ground, scratching himself again. He was no doubt in some amount of pain, but he wasn't reacting to it.

That is either the greatest blessing, or the greatest curse in the world, she thought. "Pookie! I... err. Are you okay?" She watched as her Pokemon got to his feet, and barked.

Nina blinked. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the one who's going insane. She pondered over her slim options. "Okay!" she called. "Let's have some fun, okay?!"

Pookie looked happy. Let's have some fun, this beat is sick, he thought. Who said that? I know somebody said that before. But who said that? He blinked, an absent expression on his face.

After all, there's no way he's going to listen to me, anyway. I can't take this match too seriously. The girl chuckled lightheartedly. "Let's see. How about... a Take Down attack!"

Take Down? Pookie thought. Too hard to do. Yes. Num-Num's too big. Too big to take down.

Oh! I know!

Hehehehehehehe.

This'll be fun!

Charging head-on at the Steelix, Pookie headed towards his opponent's tail; lifting one foot, he stomped down hard on it, then ran back to Nina, seeming to be giggling.

Titanium felt a small tickle on the tip of his tail as the jovial Pokemon smashed his heavy foot down on it. Thankfully for the Steelix, his entire body was coated with a metal harder than diamonds. Titanium looked at his trainer, who shrugged.

"Another Iron Tail?" Mike suggested, suddenly seeing the fight for how one sided it really was. He felt a tremendous amount of empathy for Nina. He had tremendous difficulty getting Beacon to do anything, but at least he listened. Well, to the best of his ability, that was.

The Steelix raised his tail once again, minding his aim as to not hit the little blue-haired human, and dropped it on the retreating Pokemon. Once again, he felt a bit guilty.

Pookie was conked out due to the weight and power of Titanium's tail. He lay on his tummy on the ground, his eyes seeming to be going in two different directions.

Grabbing his Safari Ball from her belt, Nina recalled her Pokemon back into it. You did... well, you did what you could, she thought, looking at the ball that contained her fainted Pokemon. Returning the ball to her belt, she grabbed a different one: an Ultra Ball. She threw the ball into the battlefield.

Krystal appeared in her trademark explosion of white light as she was released from her ball.

"Alright kid, I don't know why you're here, but you better clear out. We members of Team Rocket haven't quite finished our business here at Sprout Tower although we just got orders to gather over in Ecruteak for some reason..." The guard muttered.

Team Rocket? Isn't that the criminal organization that started over in Kanto? the Blonde thought to herself. "What can you guys possibly want to do there?"

"I don't know, but enough babble. Sentret, start off with a Defense Curl! We'll beat this girl up and give that rare Cyndaqui to the Boss Macabre." The rocket ordered. The scout pokemon was quick to comply and promptly rolled into a tight ball and emitted a soft glow. Claire exchanged a glance with Kokoro and the Cynaquil looked back to the battle and began to emit a dark smoke from it's back. "Alright, now get in there with your Quick Attack Sentret!"

The small brown ferret shot forward into the haze only to come flying out on the other side, completely missing Kokoro. "Great job, now hit it with an Ember!" Claire responded and suddenly three small flames shot out of the cloud striking the poor Sentret from behind causing it to let out a pitiful, and rather high pitched screech.

"Fury Swipes! Go for where the flames came from!" The Rocket Grunt hissed. Although still rubbing its fur, the Sentret complied with a nod and rushed in, arms swinging wildly.

"Keep it away from you with your special move Kokoro!" Claire shouted as the Sentret pushed its way through the haze. Suddenly in the center, a small shape began to glow with a golden hue which quickly expanded to encompass the flailing Sentret. "Great, now let it have it!" Claire ordered. Kokoro smiled and deftly tossed the Sentret through the air toward the stairs. Unfortunately, there was someone coming down those stairs. The aforementioned Boss Macabre, who let out a rather loud "ugh" as the small brown ferret bashed into his head.

"What is the meaning of this!" The man shouted kicking the fainted Sentret back to its trainer. "I see you can't handle a simple intruder. Nevermind. I'll take care of the girl myself." The main leisurely tossed out a pokeball to reveal an impressive, and rather mean looking, Feraligatr. "Slash that silly little mouse." The gator deftly raced across the room and smashed into the poor Cyndaquil, this time sending her flying across the room. Luckily, Clarie was on her game and managed to catch Kokoro before she could inflict any damage from a harsh fall.

"Crap... You did well, Kokoro." Claire responded as she knelt and returned her comrade. Taking a look at her opponents, Claire could tell that the two humans would be no problem for her swordsmanship, but the large blue gator was another question. How do I get myself into these messes? A normal person would've called the police for something like this. Oh well. I know when I'm beaten, the girl mused as she began to edge her way over to the stairwell exit. But as she glanced over the two guards from outside managed to arrive at the second level of the building effectively hedging her in.

"Now if you'll kindly drop your-" Boss Macabre began when he suddenly felt a chill run up his spine and a large wet tongue roll slowly up his face.
