Shyrae chuckled at her father and shook her head. "That never fails to amuse you, does it?" Of course he hated humans so that was a matter of opinion entirely. But his words were proven true as a moment later the Captain's first mate showed up. "That little whiny a** baby! Are you actually telling me he's telling you that I stole from him?!" Okay, technically some of his things were in a runic pocket but all he had to do was ask nicely. "I made the b*****d cookies!" Oh look there was her mother's temper coming to the forefront. That rarely happened... She sighed and shook her head. "Fine. This is a scare tactic. He wants me to undo what I did and I'm not going to. Not until he learns." Thus nodding to the first mate. "Let's go." Not that she had a clue of what the brig was. In her land, those who stole were beaten until dead or killed. Simple enough and highly effective. There were no repeat offenses.

"Never, my Lady, never." Giving her a grin and just because he kissed her cheek. "I'll do anything in the world for you, you know that. But for now I'll mind my hands, lips, teeth, tongue and words and pay proper respect. But when you're ready and I do get all those things on you, I'll be much happier." That said only for her benefit. "Trim the mainsail gents! The Chimera needs a kick in her arse before we can go any faster!"

Savryn rolled her eyes lightly in amused fashion. "Someone has to be, your boys just are too mild mannered I'm afraid." Smirking lightly before giving a rare little laugh. Though an annoyed look when the first mate made an appearance and said some less than pleasant things. "Somehow...I'm not surprised."

Sevilin...merely raised an eyebrow in that 'are you stupid' manner to apparent first mate. And then turned a questioning look to his daughter. See, he knew she was causing trouble, but he duly stepped between the two after she said she'd go. "Come now, you need to go about this in better manner. "Why let him throw you in the brig...just give him back his things and keep your little trick going. And watch your mouth." Frowning lightly at her. Though anyone who knew Sevilin knew he was ready to snap that pirate like a twig.

"You're a man, of course you will." Sniffing and duly inspecting her nails. Sometimes she had to enforce that she was captain, perhaps for her own needs moreso than showing the crew. "And someone get some entertainment on this deck, you're all boring when you're moping about loosing sight of your womanly flesh that was recently on board."

Caden had finished his duties awhile ago, Mister Richards deemed that he had done enough and that he didn't need to do anymore with the rest of the crew. That had been twenty minutes ago and now he was sitting by himself above deck with his shirt off as he sat against the sun, his body was soaked and he was a little breathless but other than that he was actually fine, nothing felt better than working fully with one's own body sometimes. So after resting for a little while Caden gathered his things and head below deck, he needed a change of cloths or he would look worse than he already did. But when he made it to the area that held his quarters he raised an eyebrow as he saw the body of Richards standing in the doorway that went into the elves room, now what was he doing here?

Mister Richards glanced at Sevilin.

"That may be acceptable, but I'd have to discuss that with the captain. I know he is very upset at whatever it is she's done. he won't even take the helm, as is his custom. though at least our helmsman is well trained enough to handle the Chimera, no one is her true master like the Captain."

Malik shrugged lightly.

"Told her it was a waste of energy.

"There's no need to learn here. that's the the galley cook is for, that's his job, to provide food and drink for those onboard. I think she just wanted to get you messy."

a slight smirk and a light wave to Galley, before settling down in a seat and crossing her legs lightly.

She lifted her hands and sighed. "He deserves exactly what he got and if he wasn't such a baby about it..." A shake of her head and she lifted her hand and brought up that runic pocket then shoved the maps and rum at the first mate. "There. Go give it to his babyness and tell him that this won't work. See if that assuages his poor battered ego." She really wanted to shake Mister Richards and yell into his face that he was blind. "He can't, doesn't really matter though. The ship is moving just fine." A nonchalant shrug. Nope, she didn't really care.

He smiled back briefly. "I know. We should probably clean up after ourselves now." Though frowning a bit at the other's words, he washed his hands throughly and wiped at his flour-dusted clothes some. "No, Jae just told you. We were hungry and since the cook is busy making the sailors' meals, we decided to help ourselves." He glanced at the baking tins for a moment before sharing a look with Jae and then turning his attention onto the other dragonness again. "Are you hungry as well?"

"Maybe there was a reason she did what she did and he should just take it in stride. What is it you humans say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger or something of the sort? If you really want to make his day, tell him he has a stowaway...If I were you, I'd try to be as appeasing as possible." Watching his daughter play nice then and giving her a nod and a pat on the back. "Sometimes, you can be just as childish as the one you are trying to teach a lesson to, Shyrae." Turning a look to Malik. "You like to waste energy too."

Savvy merely shook her head as she listened to all that way going on. Well well, there would certinally be more fighting on board this vessel, wouldn't there. Somehow she was not looking forward to anything of the sort. But what could you do...that captain wasn't willing to budge a damn inch, even when others were willing to give that much.

A blink at the other...what was she thinking she was pulling? Did this have something to do with that talk they had had out in the desert? She hoped not because Kaz probably woudln't take too kindly to something of the sort. "Yes, it is his job...but we don't live on this boat. It's good to know how to prepare food for one's self. Boosts your survival and the like." Thusly taking a moment of time to clean up the mess on the counter and put things back where she had found them, before washing her hands and dusting herself off some...hm yeah, flour stuck no matter how much your brushed. But onto more redirecting matters, "You did a good job for your first try though we won't really know till we taste things, hm?" One of those slight challenge smiles.

"What she did, and the reason for it, is unknown to me entirely. but I do have a guess as to the why. a dispute between the other woman here and the captain. I believe he cut her robe to prove a point about another pirate lord on the sands..one that if he had the same opportunity, would have severed her head from her shoulders. both to captain and the other woman elf have had a long standing grudge for sometime."

Mister Richards looked at Sevilin a moment, taking almost a measure of him.

"You may think that would be wise. but it wouldn't. to claim you as a stowaway, will only bring him down harder on the other woman here, who I assume is your daughter, as he.." gesturing to malik, "is the other's father."

Malik shook his head lightly.

"Okay, lets get this in the open. Shyrae blinded the captain because he used my daughter's blindness to make a point that she is vulnerable, and that other captains, not bound by contractual or otherwise obligations, could and probably would simply get rid of her as to look at her. from his description of the other captain in question's ship...it has three gun decks. it's a damn monster of a vessel. be similar probably to being able to ride and control probably two or three of the armada of our empire, adn a crew size to match."

a glance at Sevilin's daughter.

"and the reason I call it a waste of energy is because, as far as I know, the captain is the only one that knows where we're going on this ship, and the only one that had access to adn knows the correct ways to navigate through the sandsea charts in his possession. as in, the marks and codes on his maps are only known to him. thus, no one can master the Chimera like her captain."

The first mate shrugged.

"His maps are confidential, but I coudl sail these seas without them. but I can't make the Chimera move the way the captain can. he knows every rope and plank of her making so well you'd think he'd birthed her straight from his thought into the sea one evening."

though taking another glance at Sevilin.

"If you refuse to let your daughter go to teh brig, can you undo what she has done, or at least are you willing to consort with the captain to speak on her behalf?"

Desdemona shook her head lightly.

"I doubt you'd sate the kind of hunger I do have. I've eaten already, before I came to this ship apparently not as welcome as your friend had seemed to imply I might have been. but what about you, you young strapping male dragon? what of you? I know a little of your friend here."

He helped her clean various utensils they had used and put them back where they belonged. Thankfully, the cook didn't say anything and only grunted to them before continuing with his duties. "Yes, I'm anticipating that moment. But in all fairness, you are the one with the recipe in here." Tapping his finger lightly to her temple. "I simply followed instructions and did as was told." He was rather excited about tasting the food though, giving her a mildly proud smile in return before turning to the other dragonness. "Then good luck in finding your own means to satisfy it." A serious nod but also curious to know why she wanted to know more about him. "Kaznec. Indeed a friend of Jae's, and Commander of the Ilindal Guard. You?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 31, 2007 8:01 pm

Shyrae gave a speaking glare to Malik. "Thank you Uncle Malik. I would have explained it my own terms without you." She once again rolled her eyes at the fact that only Hunter could sail the Chimera the way it was meant to be sailed. That was all a bunch of words to her. Anyone could sail any ship. This ship didn't need to be sailed a special way and Hunter deserved what he got. A glance at her father and she shook her head.

"No, he can't undo what was done, he is not a stowaway or claiming to be and I will deal with the Captain baby myself. I did this and it will take me to undo it. If we are not goign to the brig and we are not going to baby's cabin, then kindly leave me and my father to our discussions. We were having a particularly nice one before you popped in. Not that that's your fault and I am not upset with you, Mr. Richards. I actually think you are a very fine first mate considering you have a whining baby as your captain." Giving him a smile and then lifting her hands in a shrug. "Well?"

"Because oh yes...shreddng my clothing is supposed to scare me or something...if he was smart he would know he got away with such things because I'm not weary of him. He'd rather make a deal than kill me, I'm not ignorant enough to assume others would follow that behavior." Snickering and crossing her arms, mumbling something or other under her breath before a stiffening in her posture as her father spoke. "I am not vulnerable..." She could lace her voice with as much poison as Malik could in one of those looks he gave people to quiet them.

"Shouldn't a pirate be ready to expect anything and place blame not on those who are indirect cause, but take care of those that are the problem?" Sevilin, never one to argue a point with anyone though unless he felt the need to or if it was Zahara, because she couldn't win all the time. Slight look to Malik at his analogy of sorts. "Impressive indeed...perhaps a tad overdone, but I don't pretend to understand the ways of humans. But as much of a waste of energy you claim it, I am a man of teaching methods and that's how I see this as such. Though it is the Captain doing the learning."

A light sigh, crossing his arms behind his back briefly over his polearm. "One should never have to rely on one sense alone, he should be able to smell and feel the wind and hear the...sandsea..." Sandsea? "...and know if there is anything to fear. Then again that may be asking too much of humans." No he didn't cover up his dislike in the least. But a tilt of his head and almost an amused look. "Thusly, undoing such things since they are teaching tools isn't my first option...though I would be willing to speak with him. However…I do believe it is my daughter whom is the instigator of all of this, shouldn’t he be talking to her first? Quite bad form to go behind the back of one whom is doing things."

Bell couldn’t believe it…she was honestly bringing up what they had slightly talked about out in the sands before port…and perhaps looking to test her Bell’s words on the ways of Kaznec. Lightly she frowned but let it drop from her features quickly enough, attention turning to Kaz as he poked her in the temple. "Well...maybe you'll learn enough to get a little ambitious and start putting new twists on old recipes." Giving a nod and a smile back, see she knew how to make his day at least interesting. Tilting her head though in half amusement as she watched...oh how things went over Kaz's serious minded head. It was cute."You always did go with that title casually." Which was also amusing.

Mister Richard's jaw set slightly at Shyrae.

"The Captain is far more than you give credit for. He's saved my life, and the life of a number of the crew, on more than a few occasions. he's brash and rough like sandpaper, but there are very few sailors that can match his skill that's been long earned. without your magics, I would be surprised if you were able to best him at all, elf or not."

though a glance between the darker skinned elves.

"I'll take you to the Captain first. if you want to try your case to him and introduce yourself, master elf, we will. but if his mind doesn't change, lady elf, I'll still be escorting you to the brig. Savvy?"

walking and expecting the two elves to follow.

"Though I think you might need to know about the Serpent and Captain Fang. perhaps it might ease your angers some twoard the captain's lecture and point making earlier, lady elf. the Serpent is indeed a five deck ship. three of them are gun decks. she has three large sails, and boasts a crew of around ninety blood thirsty men. Captain Fang command through fear, and fear alone. there is no respect on that vessel. you kill for your position, you kill for or steal any loot that is acquired."

moving between decks up tot eh top deck, giving a moment for Sevilin's eyes to adjust.

"Fang thinks women are of no use or value for anything but breeding. woman found or captured on teh sands are either killed the moment they are seen, or they are shackled and thrown to the men for anything they want. tattooing, branding, rape, cutting, murdering...whatever any man feels like doing to her at any given moment. that is the Serpent's way."

Before reaching the Captain's quarters.

"Captain, I have the elf woman, and a new member of the crew that wish to speak with you."

an obviously annoyed snarl and throwing of a bottle on the other side of the door, before the first mate opened it.

"After you."

Malik looked over at hsi daughter, and gave a small grin.

"five to one says that Sevilin and the Captain have a forty-five second brawl."

Desdemona gave a slight grin. her comments just went right over his head, didn't they. a glance at Jae with a snicker and a 'is he really that dense?' look.

"I'm Desdemona. former first mate to the Chimera, and piratess of the Sand Seas. I've also been Captain Deacon's lover for some years now."

and yes, as far as she was concerned, Hunter was still very much her property. the Hawk might not be, but Hunter was.

Sure enough, many things flew right over his head in the current conversation but he continued with it, nodding politely to Desdemona as he would when meeting any new stranger that wasn't forcing a threat onto himself. "Lover and secret, it would seem. But if this is your return, why are you not spending time back at the Chimera with your captain?" He could smell the cooking meat and bread well enough now, making a small smile grace his features as he turned back to the female at his side. "Next time, I would like to add some spices to the bread. I've seen it done before but I can never tell the hundreds of different kinds apart." But giving a little noise of disagreement. "Not casually. Truthfully. Because it's who I am."

Shyrae shook her head, "Any man who rules in fear, rules in vain. He has only the illusion of power before it will be taken from him by the very ones that fear him the most. Fear motivates humans to kill, it always has and always will. As for those men and my dear friend and I. I assure you, Mister Richards, we are quite capable of handling ourselves, regardless of what any of them were to throw at us." She wanted to chuckle when the claim was that Hunter could beat her. Likely he could since he was stronger, but she could hold her own in a fight as well. She'd grown up with four older sisters and brothers, two of each and fighting was a way of life in the Inthara house.

Crossing her arms and shaking her head and chuckling. He still hadn't learned to control his temper. She put a hand on her father's arm and glanced at him asking him silently to please stay out of it. She wanted Hunter's reactions to be as if her father was not in the room. Tsking at the tiniest bit of rum spilling ontot he floorboards, she regarded him like a child. "Are you ready to play nicely with the others, Hunter?"
