Amaya snapped her head up at the sight of the largest bolder she had seen yet and quickly swung her weight to the side. She gasped heavily as the large chunk of rock sailed down past her, but her grip couldn't reestablish itself against the cliff side with the her added weight and sweat soaked fingers and she plumeted. s**t, s**t ,s**t. Don't hit the water! Kunai!. And as the thoughts frantically raced through her head, she quickly reached an arm down and snatched a kunai from her pouch, jamming into the cliffside. It stricked and sparked smoky rock as she began to eventually slow down. Her forearms dragged against the rough rock though, no doubt recieving more damage than had already been caused from the past through her dark plum wrappings.
Amaya grit her teeth tightly as she finally came to a hault only 3 feet from the waters below. She released a heavy pant and continued to breath as she forced her other hand to find a secure spot against the cliff, along with her feet. Great! She had avoided, at the least, getting her weights resoaked, but now she was nearly right back to the beginning.

Amaya couldn't afford to really think about how far she had fallen right now. She had a mission to complete. Though it was just a training exercise, Amaya was taking it much more seriously. What if the weights on her back wre actually a comrade she had managed to secure against her? Home was just at the top of this cliff...if only she could reach it! And so she began again, careful of falling debree, using her kunai as a pick to help her climb as she jabbed it into the cliffside and hauled herself up.

None of the falling obstacles had been a problem at the moment, but her strength was another matter entirely. The mixture of hot sun againt sweat and the numb throbbing racing through her arms was taking a toll on her. She was moving at a slow pace, but it was better than not going anywhere at all. Her breaths came heavily through the dark plum mask across the lower portion of her face. One foot at a time, was the mantra she though to herself. Watch for rocks, keep moving.

Trouble barreled it's way down to her, but she managed to avoid it enough to stay against the cliff. The falling cluster had nicked her knee though and she had to stop a moment to push past the ache. Regaining her composure, she looked up. Had the cliff gotten highter? She shook her head and blinked a few times. Now was not a good time to be hallucinating. So again, Amaya pressed on.

When falling adversary came, Amaya avoided. And as she found the safe spots in between, she was able to find a bit of a rhythm in her climbing. Stab pull, reach pull, stab pull, reach pull. She forced herself to concentrate on the routine, adding in a dip to the left or right when it was needed. It wasn't long before she was close to where she had been when her strength had failed her. For now, that would be a small goal in itself. To reach that smae palce and go beyond it.

Haruko looked to Reck and smiled. She then heard one of the other students coming up and looked over to them. "Come on over. I have your next mission already planned out. Ok...sooo...well, since Aunt Ryoko isn't here yet, I'm getting hungrey. Wanna go get something to eat guys?"
Haruko looked completly innocent...Reck would probably know this was a horrible sign. Amaya too.

((Whoa wait really? I thought you meant that if I rolled a 20 for str that the rocks would stop. Haha, my apologies. I think that puts me at about 25/50 then.))
Amaya crumpled her eyebrows at the sound of Haruko's voice. What was she saying about having a mission planned? She had to admit that the sound of lunch was like heaven right about now. But she was still mad at the crazy girl for throwing rocks in the first place and the last time they had lunch in the same room as each other, the noodles tried to make lunch out of them. She shook her head at the memory hoping that her new team mates would survive the meal.
But now she had to finish. The job shouldn't be that much more tricky now that Haruko was distracted. So she went back to her climbing, determined to finish up now that everyone else had made it too. The last thing she wanted to end up being was the weak link. She would NOT allow that.

Haruko had certainly done her job well. Having to keep up with the constant barrage of rocks took a lot out of her. Even now that she was mentally relieved of the extra stress, Amaya's strength had suffered greatly. But all she had to do was keep herself on the cliff. Tightening the grip around her kunai, she pulled it from the rock surface and jammed it in a good space above her, using her legs to push her up further as her other hand reached out for a new ledge.

The weights on Amaya's back hung relentlessly as she slowly worked her way up the cliff. Suddenly the thought of people eating ramen creatures wasn't sounding too bad. It was like a meal and training put together in one weird and slippery package. She pushed herself to keep going, the very thought of food pushing her on.
